Fun and funky and great service. Close to everything in downtown and campus.
Fun decor! Comfy bed! The location was perfect to enjoy the ped mall. Staff was all super friendly. We did some exploring and found the pool on the 2nd floor. Sad it wasn't open but we hopefully will visit again. Shampoo, conditioner and soap all smelled so good and I like the idea of not wasting the travel size bottles and having the bigger bottles in the shower. I love the wallpaper in the bathroom! I was surprised to see all the floors and rooms looked the same. I was hoping to see more eclectic decors. Anyways glad we stayed here and would encourage anyone needing a hotel in Iowa City to check out the Graduate.
Super fun hotel, especially for those who love to read! The rooms also have a lot of character. Not your run of the mill business hotel, for sure!
Fries alone are worth the trip. Simple menu, simple beer selection, but the food, fries, location, atmosphere and service means we’ll be back. Coming from a townie, that’s high praise!
Excellent classic cocktails, in a quaint setting.,The wood paneling and macrome lamp shades add a period decor that is cozy and welcoming. This is a "grown up" bar in a downtown full of loud crowded "meat market" type bars. I also had the sweet and spicy wings, which were great. I would definatley go back to try more menu items.
I met a good friend for drinks before they had to go to work. We both enjoyed fantastic preparations of a traditional Negroni, it was a little sweet, quite bitter, a smidge spicy and rightly strong. In summary, the perfect drink for the occasion, done excellently. Our bartender Adelaide (I hope I spelled it right) was fantastic. Highly recommended
Enjoyed the slushees, appetizers and drinks at Genes. We sat at the bar and Alicia served us and she was wonderful. We were watching the football game and everything was great
Brunch was great, and the indoor outdoor atmosphere is the best in Iowa City. It's also great if you have kids who want to play on the nearby playground. Will defintely be going back!
