So I don't eat meat. 😂😂I thought to myself "Self, What the hell will you eat there?" Ummmm the most delicious food of my life of course. The atmosphere was a little hectic and I was worried my server didn't understand me( background noise + kids didn't help) but she ended up showing me a delicious dish. I will definitely eat here again. This time without kids so I can really enjoy my meal. 11/10 food :)

Korean BBQ Hell Yes!!! The best!!! We eat here sometimes 4-5 times a month. The Irvine location has a great staff on hand, but the location is a bit small and crowded. You'll definitely want to prepare yourself to walk out smelling like BBQ. Because of how crowded and small the location is, it gets super smokey in there and you walk out smelling like BBQ. The wait times to be seated here can sometimes be over an hour, but the Garden Grove location is much larger and can accommodate more people. We usually drive to Irvine to eat, but we thought we'd try the Garden Grove location last Monday evening. We were immediately seated, ordered and had dinner within an hour an out the door. Oh and we didn't even smell of BBQ upon leaving. We'll most likely start going to the Garden Grove location from now on.

Place recommended by a friend and I’m glad we tried it. This is such good Korean barbecue and would love to go in person for the all you can eat. The menu to go is only in the Grubhub app and not on the website - in case anyone is confused like I was when looking to place my order for pick up 😅

Great experience with all you can eat: very quick in bringing out ordered items. Decent variety of options including other side dishes such as steamed egg and spicy Tofu soup. Had one weird instance where they mistakenly took the food still on the grill when doing a grill change but good service otherwise.

This place was phenomenal! The food and service were beyond any of my expectations, and I definitely plan many more visits here. So let's walk step by step through this one, because it is definitely worthy of being highlighted. To start, this was a recommendation from several people that spoke about it in a way that made me say we have to take a trip here. They would speak about the food as if reliving the experience noting how each item was throughly enjoyed-- a proper foodie tell, so I rounded my kids up during their spring break and we made the 30 minute drive to this specific location even though there is another closer. We were told, Garden Grove location specifically will not disappoint and I tell you, they were right! So we find the parking lot, which was a touch confusing because we had to circle back around to a side road to access it. Once we found it, the entrance to be honest was a touch concerning because there was graffiti on the wall and it didn't necessarily look safe. Once 11:30 hit, we headed in as their first customers for the day and pleasantly surprised at this recently renovated interior area. It was clean, spacious, well lit, and music lightly playing in the background that made the environment inviting and relaxing. The waitress was exactly what we needed-- patient, helpful, and attentive. I had a lot of questions because this was an extensive menu and could easily be overwhelming. She guided me through all of the options for all you can eat, lunch only options, various meat options, and proper grilling times for each meat. Once we decided on the order, the table was dressed with all of the sides, two grills because I didn't want the pork and beef to mix since I am not a pork eater, and our beverages. The utensils were very clean and the silver goblets for water kept the water very cold, even without ice. Once the meat started arriving, we began the grilling process and let me say, it was an experience! The smell of the food was making our stomachs growl and we couldn't wait to give this food a shot. They have hefty portions, but none of it went to waste because we made sure not to eat before this feast. Literally everything was good! The rice, soup, marinated beef, beef belly, squid, pork marinated, pork belly, small intestines, pickled cucumbers, kimchi, seaweed, and dipping sauces. Again, I don't eat pork, but my kids couldn't get enough! The waitress was able to help for most of our visit because we were the only people there for a while since we arrived early. She made us feel so welcomed and was happy to help us have a good experience. I appreciated her demeanor and guidance through the process because it did make all of the difference. At the end of the visit, make sure you don't walk out the door without getting their blueberry ice cream. It was the perfect sized sweet treat to end this feast! I was so full after this meal, I literally could not eat dinner because I was full into the evening hours. I never overeat, but I couldn't help myself at this place because it was truly that good. Every bite I relished and completely understood after leaving why the personal recommendations we received were so high. Not one issue here. The exterior of the restaurant could use some work, but man oh man, this humble restaurant on the side of the road blew our minds!!

This is some of the best food I've ever eaten. The wait was pretty short and the staff were incredibly helpful. But the food was second to none. I've never had Korean this good. I ate til I hurt.

Great food and very attentive staff/owner. It was a bit dead for lunch, but made the attentive service even better. Bulgogi, small intestine, spicy pork belly, rice, and veggies were fantastic. Banchan were all good too!

We went out to dinner for a friend’s birthday. We were originally supposed to go to Tomikawa for sushi but they didn’t take reservations and it was waitlist only. The wait for Tomikawa was 2+ hours. I came to realize we tried to go eat sushi on Good Friday when everyone else was looking for meat alternatives for dining. This is where Plan B and Shik Do Rak Irvine comes into play which was only a block away. Having always had good dining experiences at Shik Do Rak I suggested it as an alternative restaurant. Luckily our big party was able to get seated promptly (thinking Good Friday had something to do with it obviously). Plan B choices aren’t necessarily a bad thing because we were all very happy with our change in dining venues. I’ve been going to Shik Do Rak for almost close to 2 decades and the food and service never disappoints. Servers are friendly and attentive and take care of all of our dining needs and requests. Food is always consistently good. We all left with happy hearts, as well as with happy and full stomachs.

Good choice of meats and veggie options. BBQ grill is highly effective, and waitresses kept busy changing to clean grill often. The small dishes that came with the meats are delicious and wide varieties

Traditional Korean BBQ. The price is fair. Service is great. The quality of meat is great. My family and my friends' family have had a good time. Thanks Shik Do Rak for opening during Thanksgiving and not adding minimum expenses. The sides are not as many as other Korean BBQ. Maybe it is because the holiday. I can see that they are out of servers. Overall, it is a good place for lunch or dinner.

Great quality and decent variety choices of BBQ meats. Great service and welcoming staff. The AC could be cooler though. Some of the dishes (warm noodle soups) weren't available when we tried to order.

food was sooo yum. service was quick, especially the refills on everything (water, rice, meat, banchan, sauces, etc.) I liked the vibe of this place more so than places like U Grill or Gen Kbbq; it was more cozy. highly recommend!! everything was great.

Home style, good quality meats and banchan, fair price. The banchan were really delicious and seasoned like a chef or your mom tasted it. Highly recommended for a classic, unpretentious KBBQ in Irvine.

Essential AYCE KBBQ. The wait is long but you can check in via Yelp. The service is good and the meat selection is as expected for the carnivorous meal that you'll consume and digest over the next few days. It'll definitely be a meat heavy, high protein, and plentiful banchan spread kind of meal that you should only have once in awhile otherwise I'd question how your bowels will handle the incessant investment of red meat you'll consume in one sitting. Tip: always ask for the onions, mushroom and garlic slices to enhance the meat as it cooks.

Thank you so much Tyler for making this a great experience for us! We will be back soon!

We had a great time with the All You Can Eat menu. On weekends you can't get the cheapest menu, but $30 each was fine, the meat was great, and the service was great as well. A lot of Korean BBQs will slack on service so you don't get too much, but Shik Do Rak was attentive and brought us plates until we couldn't eat any more. Pictured is the short rib steaks - amazing.
