The Yelp reviews are poor, but the google reviews are great. We liked this place. The interior was well done and the colorful LED lighting felt very Chinese. The food was great. We has the vinegar beef, buckwheat honeycomb, mini hot pot, and the candied yam and everything was great. I would highly recommend the candied yam. The staff were nice and spoke good English.
A very nice space and great for a group. They have tables that seat up to 8 as well as a number of booths. They prepare noodles in a couple of different ways and it’s good especially the long slightly chewy noodles, perfect for that birthday noodle dish. If you ask them to dial down the spiciness most dishes are fine. Soup noodles is still pretty spicy though, so watch out or you’ll have the “it’s too spicy” but “it’s so good I can’t stop eating it” moment.
Great atmosphere, excellent decor, exceptional service, fast and great. The crispy chili lamp combined with fried peanuts and cilantro dish was delicious, the meat was tender, juicy and crispy with all ingredients mixed perfectly. The green beans with eggplant cooked in oyster sauce was a perfect combination with the lamb dish. Only disappointing was the condiments especially the chili oil was far beyond expectations.
Their lamb fried noodles here are very good. The lamb is soft and tender. Their noodles are fresh and made in house which is great. I ordered the lamb fried noodles non spicy and asked for extra meat which I paid extra for and for them to add spinach to my dish. Was amazing. See images attached and uploaded. Will be back. Found my new fried noodles place. Would be great if they could get Wagyu beef here or some other prime beef for their fried noodles also.
Not Cantonese cuisine - probably Taiwanese. Not an expert here to say, just being adventurous that day, and was not disappointed. My goodness! The fish head dish, which was the special of the day, was something to behold by the braves only. The soup was sensational. The buns were unremarkable.
Very good food, great service.
Came in with a party of six and was promptly seated and and served hot tea.
I'd say we had at leat 12 different dishes and I enjoyed all of them.
The dumplings, okra, and cauliflower were my favorites.
The specialty fish plate was delicious. I'll admit I thought there would have been more fish for the price but I'm not complaining.
Newly opened , similar to their City of Industry location, nice interior with friendly and attentive service. Menu are similar to their Shanxi Noodle House but simplified, still got their signature cold dishes, noodels are still my favorite. Great flavor and cooked perfectly. I can see why they are so busy even just open few weeks ago.
That's my first time visiting this place. This place is featured by its special Shanxi-originated home style paste and noodles. I would say it is beyond my expectations. My friend and I ordered braised noodles, okra with sesame source, steamed meat ball, and roasted chicken as appetizer. The price is low. But we cannot finish entrées. The noodle has some pepper which makes it tastes very special. The chicken and the meat ball are just about right, not too salty, but strong enough. Okra is good too, fresh, and makes me feel relax. Sorry for not talking pictures on entrée. I think it is because we were really hungry at that time. Strong recommendation.
dropped in last week intending to go to the restaurant next door. Ordered the Hot and Sour Fish Soup. Wow. Never tasted anything like it. Returned the next day with 3 friends in tow and had a tableful of mostly (almost all) delicious dishes. Quick, friendly, attentive waitstaff. Very glad this restaurant is in Irvine now.
Ready good food with good atmosphere and staff
10.26.2019 - I have eaten here a few time by now. Ordered several dishes to go.. to my surprise.. mostly good. Upgraded to 4 stars
2019 Decided to try this place.. not bad but not as good as S.W.
Tasty and had a good price. I particularly enjoyed the dan dan noodles and the fish with garlic sauce
Best SHANXI noodle in Irvine
Good noodle soup, liked Kung Pao shrimp. Xiao long Bao size is too big.
