We were apprehensive at first because of the mixed reviews and empty parking lot, but food was good. Portions were huge and reasonably priced.
What a surprise.... We came in one warm evening and sat beneath the window a/c unit. Unfortunately, the a/c wasn't on - it was rather warm inside. As we perused the menu we noticed a fare amount of crumbs and dust on the windowsill. Our table and chairs were not as clean as they should have been. We discussed leaving, but the chips were good and we were hungry.
We ordered and were very surprised at what came out of the kitchen. The presentation of both our meals looked like that of a 5 star restaurant. The Mariscada del Mar was like nothing I had ever tasted. Octopus, and vegetables in some kind of red sauce that was incredible.
I don't recall what my wife had, but she was pleasantly surprised.
Hopefully they will clean things up a bit and utilize the a/c when it gets toasty
inside.
We will be back.
The restaurant was very clean, the service was prompt and polite, and the food was delicious. I recommend this establishment to anyone who wants a tasty meal for a reasonable price - especially in a relatively touristy area where overpriced food is prevelant.
The best Mexican and seafood restaurant in Miami Dade and Monroe counties. I have tried just about everything in the menu and it is excellent. We met the owner and most of his family works with him. The staff is warm and friendly, they male you feel right at home. Don't forget to try their margaritas!!!!
Great food and very friendly staff. Prices are as good as the food. Don't be in a hurry just sit back and relax. Stop at this little roadside restaurant you wont regret it .
Our Favorite. Cant say enough about how much my wife and I love this place. Everyone we have sent there feels the same. Could almost eat there every day. Good food, nice owner and staff good prices. Do yourself a favor and go.
Fantastic food. You are served fresh salsa and chips prior to your meal. Great ambiance. Be patient because service is a little slow. Definitely a place I will visit again.
Amazing true Mexican food! The taste was very authentic and yummy! Restaurant was very cute and authentic. Server was attentive, but not very friendly, that was our only complant. Else wise it's fanatic! And is definitely set aside from all the other keys overpriced restaurants!

Very clean place, affordable prices with great tasting food. One the things for any restaurant in the keys is to make sure they have a great product in the bathrooms. Let me tell this salt is amazing, besides that you are washing your hands you are getting a moisturizer. Waiter’s we nice, food took long time but I assume it was because it was lunch time. We really enjoy the food and the place.

Along my drive down to Key West I had a few options in my bookmarks for Mother's Day dinner. A stop in Islamorada drew me Puerta Vallarta Mexican Bar & Grill.
SUPERB attentive service; at least 3 people were checking on me and taking my order. In addition to the pleasant and speedy customer service, their colorful food presentation was appetizing.
My Fish ceviche tostada was fresh and crisp; a perfect appetizer, I actually wanted more!
I loved my seafood burrito smothered in the sauce and it wasn't sloppy-looking either. With that, I celebrated by having a couple of refreshing Michelada con Estrella Jalisco. Satisfying silent burps :P
During my time of visit, they had tables set apart to abide with social distancing and employees wore masks. They kept seating and tables sanitized clean soon after guests finished their meals.

No trip to Islamorada is complete without stopping at Puerto Vallarta Mexican Bar and Grill. This time I tried the Seafood Burrito. It came with a great side salad and cilantro rice. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy the free chips and pico de gallo. The flavors are amazing no matter what you get. Stop in for some Mexican while you're here. Its very clean. The vibe, the food and the service is always amazing!
It was actually the first time that our kids tried Mexican food. We ordered veggy fajitas and fajitas with chicken and shared it. Besides the fact that the tortillas were too small / too less, we really enjoyed it - the sizzling pans were quite an experience for the kids. But in the end they loved and it will not be the last time that they will eat Mexican food. So well done :-)

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I tried in Florida. Great value and fresh authentic ingredients. The staff was very attentive. I am glad I came here.

The food it’s amazing I read the reviews and it said that the paella was really good and it was true the paella was amazing, the enchiladas very good , the house margarita was very good, we went Saturday before 6 pm the service was also good we got our food fast, the happy hour margarita was excellent and so the appetizers
Wow! I shouldn't have waited so long to go here. Food, drinks, service, atmosphere were all fantastic. lots of parking. A cozy little bar with some of the best margaritas you will have. I got the fish tacos and the chicken flautas.
Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere and the friendly staff. This place was in walking distance to my hotel and I enjoyed the burrito bowl so much the first night, I came back the next night and ordered it again! I also very much enjoyed the chips and salsa. Service was top notch.
I had late lunch with my family and friends. One of us was Mexican and confirmed it was à la Mexican style. It was delicious! Highly recommended! They event have Tecate beer 🍺
