As usual this is an outstanding place to eat. Your greeted with sincere love and right away your glad your there. The servers are unbelievably friendly even if it’s not you waiter they constantly come over to see if there is anything you need and the food is heavenly. I can’t think of a better restaurant than there. Italian food , seafood, last night for my birthday I had the best steak I’ve ever had , a 2 inch thick rib steak grilled to perfection didn’t even need a knife to cut it. Even the sides of garlic mash potatoes and creamed spinach were elevated to perfection. The Caesar salad is to die for the mussels were again the best I’d ever had and I’ve had them in many restaurants but they can’t compare. The wine list is outstanding and the desserts finish your meal with smile of total joy. I can’t wait for the next time we go there. Island Park has a true gem . You will not be disappointed.
Every time my wife and I come here the food and service is amazing.there specials are always over the top. If you haven't tried this place put it on the top of your list.
This new addition to Island Park was much needed. I've started to routinely make the trip to Island Park from Manhattan, and here I'll try to provide a glimpse of why. Gran Paradiso is an elegant Italian restaurant oiled by the most fantastic waiting staff I have ever been served by. Moreover, the owner/host, Bernardo, did the job of making me feel like family upon arrival. On top of that, he knows how to run a restaurant as well as/better than anyone else. Regarding the food - it was unbelievable! My chicken parmesan was prepared beautifully and did not disappoint. I have no doubt each and every dish at this restaurant will surface as a local favorite. If you live in Island Park, I encourage you to make Gran Paradiso part of your regular routine. If you live farther, I encourage you to give Gran Paradiso a chance without hesitation. I'm confident that one visit will make you a regular no matter how far from Island Park you live.
Gran Paradiso is by far the best restaurant around for Italian food! The food is totally delicious and nice sized portions. The manager and waiters are the best!!!!
It's been 3.5 years since this place opened. Bernardo is one for the record at running this place. His warm welcomes and treating everyone like family with a hug and kiss. This man always checks on the service as he does every table there and finishing the night with goodbyes. He has a wonderful staff that he trained well and all help each other out as a team should. Never have had a bad experience or food here.. I tip my hat and will always come back when I can and recommend this place to family friends and loved ones. Cheers to another 3.5 years wish y'all would expand with a nice party room. Definitely needed here as I spoke to Bernardo in the past .wish y'all took over next door �..thank you as always.. Gran Paradiso is one of our favorite restaurants in the area! The food is always delicious! The restaurant is immaculate, the ambiance is great, and the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating!

My friends and I just went there today around 1pm. We were their only customers! The food was great as well as the wine, martinis & cheesecake! I definitely recommend it highly.

Always a great time....Yorki is the best waiter ever...Kiara makes the BEST drinks and of course Benardo is the friendliest manager around !
I don't give out five stars lightly or often, but Gran Paradiso earns them every time! We are now on a once a week schedule. We generally split and appetizer and a main course, last night was incredible!! Escargot and shrimp in a creme sauce, then tagliatelle with stuffed calamari, are you kidding me? Staff and service are impeccable, Bernardo is the perfect host, just go!
Hands down my favorite restaurant! Besides the over-the-top accommodations for ingredient changes....every last one of them are THE friendliest bunch of servers you'll ever meet. They make you feel like family. I'm not in town for awhile and I'm missing my Gran Paradisio!!! Hope to see you soon!

Classic Italian dishes fill the menu. They also have some dishes you'll only find here. Their daily specials are also very good. Staff is extremely friendly. Dinner at the bar is very popular. Gary is a great bartender. I recommend reservations, especially on weekend nights.
They are open for lunch. Lunch is a great value.
Highly recommend a visit.

Absolutely fantastic, for many reasons.
This is the second time we have had a sizable party at this restaurant, the first one was maybe fifteen people? This most recent was 35.
The staff from start to finish conducted themselves in an exemplary manner, e.g., from treating the cake we brought as though it was for their own party to graciously putting up with several young and extraordinarily active children, never once losing patience or speaking sternly even when these children were getting in the way when they had hot plates of food, the staff members were all unwaveringly professional.
They worked diligently to ensure our party guests always had drinks, that the food was correct, and that everything was delivered in a timely fashion.
Speaking of the food- it is no easy feat to serve 35 people at exactly the same time, all while managing normal restaurant patrons, and yet the staff pulled it off impeccably. One in our group seemed to find something about their dish disagreeable, but knowing this particular individual, I am confident it was more of a personal issue and not one the staff created, if you know what I mean. Everyone else stated their food was perfect, and we had some rather discerning people in attendance.
This was an important and special event planned to celebrate a milestone for the patriarch of our family, and it mattered to all of us that it be executed well; I am so glad Gran Paradiso was the venue of choice because the party was a great success.
Thank you to the staff at Gran Paradiso. Your service, attitudes, drinks, and food were excellent, and how you put up with the kids literally climbing the walls I will never know. You made this event a truly enjoyable one, and our family is more grateful than you will ever know.

Went to Gran Paradiso for the first time over the weekend for a birthday and I really enjoyed it . The wait time was a bit long between our appetizers and dinner . For our apps (not pictured) our table ordered the calamari and the stuffed clams and they were both delicious (clams on the small side but delicious) . For dinner I ordered the sea bass special that came with mussels and shrimp and it was delicious. My bf had the St. Peter’s fish over asparagus risotto and it was very good . Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice night out with the family

The food was excellent. It took longer than normal for our food to come out, but we happened to be with old friends with plenty of stories to tell. On a normal evening it would have been a problem. All else was good. When the food did come out it was delicious.
