My wife and I have had the opportunity to eat at top restaurants all over the world. We feel that Ken's restaurant is among the top restaurants we have ever dined at. Ken's ability to create a broad menu of dishes of the highest caliber, ranging from the freshest seafood dishes to homemade pastas, is indicative of a top chef. The food is superb (we have tried probably everything on the menu), the atmosphere is wonderful, and all of the staff are so instrumental in making the experience memorable. We are so fortunate that Isle of Palms has a restaurant of this level of quality and anyone coming to the Charleston area needs to include this restaurant as a must do on their dining list.
Excellent in every way. Our table of four loved everything we ordered. Tiny bites of vegetables had immense amounts of taste. Best olive bite I can recall. Every sauce was perfect and well-balanced. Triggerfish was flakey and delicious, gnocchi was light and tasty. Our companions lived their pastas.
Budino dessert was superb. We have all eaten at many great spots in Charleston, but this ranks high on the list. Certainly in the top three based on this meal. My only wish is for a more expensive liquor menu and carrying Mezcal at the very least. While it was very good, the tiramisu cheesecake would be that much better if sponge cake was used in place of lady fingers.

What a treat tonight. This small restaurant is a gem Recommended to us by a local. We opted to allow the chef to choose our dishes. Without a doubt, the most delicious meal ever. The flavors were balanced perfectly and they danced all over your tongue, First was seared barrel fish over hearts of palm with a beautiful vinaigrette. Second was handmade egg noodles with octopus and andouille sausage. Third was spirals of suckling pig over seared broccolini with aged balsamic vinegar and a pork confit over a Marsala and vidalia onion reduction. Dessert was a creation between a pudding and a cream brûlée flavored with butterscotch, shaved chocolate and a vanilla cream.
Just had dinner everything we had was great and the staff was even better. Highly recommend for some local seafood!
We enjoyed the Best dinner (since moving here 3 1/2 years ago) tonight at Coda Del Pesce on IOP!!! Every morsel of food from salad to dessert was tremendous! Service was top notch!!! We will be back!!!!!
I've worked and eaten in some of the finest restaurants in the world. This was my first experience here and will not be my last. Top notch all the way around without being too pretentious. Excellent from beginning to end.
Love everything about this place! Amazing food, great staff, beautiful location.. couldn't ask for a better spot...definitely a regular of mine!
Hands down the best food and service on the IOP. Carmella was an excellent waitress and we will be back!
Head Chef Ken has put together a level of service and quality of food rivaled to none. Great staff, incredible food. I highly recommend!
A real hidden gem! Ive been by the restaurant many times and didn't realize it was there until I saw that chef Ken recently beat Bobby Flay! Once you taste the food, you will realize why! 5 stars in every way.
An exquisite meal with wonderful service...... Eric and the staff are just so nice. This is one restaurant where the food and service are equally good.
I'm visiting from Atlanta and eat out at many great restaurants every week for business, so I experience the finer things. I have to say hands down one of the best places I've eaten this year !!!!! Everything was fresh, homemade, creative, and delicious!
Amazing! Highly recommend. Food excellent. Service even better.
Food, atmosphere, service and ocean view... incredible. Our new favorite place!

There aren’t a lot of things that will convince me to drive 40 minutes out to Isle of Palms in the offseason, but I’m about to add Coda del Pesce to the list of things that make the cut. The adorable and artfully designed restaurant is cozy without feeling cramped and OMG those views of the ocean. It doesn’t get any better than this.
Went here last night with a large group and everyone LOVED their meal. The service was excellent and the food was amazing- not one bad dish and we all had a variety! Can't wait to go back.
Super food.. We've been to Coda del Pesce three times now, and will be going back whenever possible. The Frito Misto is the most perfectly fried seafood in town, and at $18 for two people, a real deal. It actually fed three of us. Yes, we had to wait a while, but we didn't care. The waiter was great, and we got to take photos of the chef''s Ferrari parked outside.
The Fritta Mista Appetet is meal. Snapper excellent.
Best Meal In Charleston Area. Fantastic little restaurant with nice balcony seating.
6 of us went and all 6 had fantastic and unique Italian meals. The menu changes daily. The food is incredible. Everyone should go to Coda del Pesce.
Fabulous!! Go there tonight!!. My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to get a table at Coda del Peche on a recent Friday night. We were visiting Charleston and knew nothing about the restaurant. I was a bit worried at first, the menu is small and I hoped I would find something I liked. We told our waiter, Brandon, that we were in the mood for seafood. He recommended everything from the Appetizer to the Primi and Secondi.
Let me say that the aesthetics of the restaurant are very soothing, creamy colors, brick and wood. Then the place had a great vibe! We got there at 9pm and it was packed the whole time. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly.
When our appetizer came out it looked amazing and tasted even better! Local Flounder Braciole - flounder with Parmesan, spinach, panko with a spicy marinara...heavenly! Next was our Primi - Spagettoni, Blue Crab, Crushed Anchovies, Lemon, Parsley, Bread Crumbs. The spagettoni was dyed with squid ink, so it was black. Cooked perfectly! Wow, this may have been our favorite. Then the Secondi - Local Triggerfish over cheesy rissi (rice shaped pasta). Adult mac and cheese. I think even my non-fish eating children would love this. Lastly we had dessert. I honestly don't know where we put it! We had a Polenta cake with a red grape reduction. So mildly sweet and immensely satisfying. I need to find a recipe for this at home!
Keep in mind that the menu changes with the local supply of fresh and seasonal ingredients. You may not be able to get everything exactly as we did, or even from the website menu.
Overall, it was a perfect night. The food, the ambiance and the experience. I really never trust someone else to recommend every dish I order (I'm a bit particular about what I eat), but our waiter Brandon was right on par! Now I'm afraid we have hit a ceiling of excellence in dining and will find most restaurants after this a let down.
We CANNOT wait to go back!!
Tasty But Noisy. No complaints on service and quality. Menu is excellent with a great wine list. It is people friendly which creates noise. That is not bad if you are not looking for a very quiet location. It is on the beach with great views. Food is well prepared with excellent service. On my next visit back I will op for fine wine and several excellent appetizers. Very much worth a visit
Simply the Best. Ken continues to impress with his outstanding preparation of seafood. We have eaten at Coda many times and have recommended plenty of friends. The comments / reviews are all
superlative. Certainly worth the price.. so far no restaurant I have been to downtown (with the exception of Lucca), measures up.
PS His cuisine is very similar to the finest restaurants in Italy.
Enjoy
Wonderful. Excellent experience, food, service and atmosphere were all great. We had the Sunday Supper which was a set menu of things I would have never picked, To my surprise I loved all of it, we all enjoyed the entire experience, we will be back.
Not as good as we expected. We read the reviews and decided to try this place since we are staying at a condo next door. We were hoping for some excellent seafood. The manager was friendly and seated us promptly. Our server was pleasant enough, however she seemed very disappointed that we did not order drinks. My husband and I were not pleased with her avoidance of our table, when she paid much more attention to those who ordered wine/drinks. We also had to have a gluten free option and she seemed bothered by our request. There were few choices. The food was tastefully presented and well enough, however we found it overpriced for what we got. I ordered the shrimp Bolognese and it was good. My husband ordered the grilled Cobia. The fish was flavorful and cooked correctly, however for the price the portion was small. Frankly, we got better food and service at an upscale chain restaurant in Mt. Pleasant.
Amazing! Chef Ken never disappoints. Seafood and pasta is the perfect pair. Isle of Palms needed a place like this.
Masterful. I have been a follower of chef ken since his Daniel island restaurant. Trattoria Lucca stole my heart. Now his new place is such a scenic treat. The atmosphere is so much brighter boasting a beautiful view of the ocean through floor to ceiling windows flanking the entire seaside wall. It is still a small space which is good on noise level if you have made a reservation in advance. The menu is straight forward with amazing creations featuring locally sourced seafood. Treat your self to four courses and all your dreams will come true! The crudo is always a must with this chef. We had tuna crudo which was bold and flavor packed. The calamari bolognese paired with his pappardelle is by far the most creative and tasty pasta dish I have tried in his restaurants. Desserts are elegant and light enough to still indulge after so much food. His tiramisu cheesecake is going to be the best tiramisu you will have. His olive oil cake paired with fresh berries is dense and delicious. This is the olnly place to eat on isle of palms!
A place where don't go. Is it possible to wait even 45 MINUTES and hear by the waiters not professional "Hey guys, the kitchen run out of fritto misto..."? It's happened to us at Coda del Pesce. We was very disappointed about what happened after this: the pasta that we have ordered in the same time of the "fritto misto" does not arrived after 20 minuter of waiting. Overall time of waiting: more than one hour and no food. We decided to give up. The manager did not does something to be really kind. We live in Charleston and we are italian, every day people ask us "please, say where do you go to eat good italian food?". We really can't suggest Coda del Pesce.
My wife's birthday was expertly served by Angie. She's extremely knowledgeable and kind. Eric seated us at the window for a beautiful view. The oyster appetizer was innovative and delicious. The swordfish was tender and fresh. We had a memorable time and look forward to our next visit
Nice Italian spot with good appetizers and yummy pastas. We had the wahoo crudo which was delicious but expensive for the small size). We tried all of the pastas (just didn’t get photos) and they were all excellent. Huge plus is they were able to accommodate a group of 8 in basically a semi-private section
The best restaurant in Charleston. Fabulous, innovative true Italian cuisine. The seafood is fresh- every dish is delectable. Great wine selection, busy, warm and friendly atmosphere. Chef/Owner Ken is usually there overseeing and working in the kitchen.
Words cannot explain how good the food is here. I have been to many up scale restaurants in my life and this is easily #1 on my list. Chef Ken Vedrinski puts on an absolute experience. Also, the atmosphere is warm, comfortable, and welcoming. We will be back, already planning another date night. Thank you for making our Anniversary a memorable one.
You HAVE to go to this restaurant! Beautiful ambience and breathtaking view of the ocean from floor to almost ceiling windows. We had an amazing server who was proud of the restaurant and was very knowledgeable about the menu. He provided stellar service.
We went for my husband's 26th birthday and although we went with a few dishes in mind we decided to be spontaneous and try the chef's tasting menu. It was incredible! Very exciting not knowing what's going to show up next. We got to try various types of fish and seafood and a decadent dessert. The one downside is that the portions are a bit small for the tasting but I could see from other tables that ordered straight off of the menu that any entree on the menu would be very filling.
The food is pricey but I would say priced fairly. You definitely get what you pay for in terms of quality.
Overall amazing night and delicious food. We WILL be going back again for sure.
The best Italian Restaurant in the US and oceanfront dining at it's finest. The Chef/Owner Ken Vedrinski beat Bobby Flay in a cook off. The bartender has an extensive knowledge of Italian wines and will help you make a good pairing. Many of the wines are exclusive to this restaurant.
really really good food! everything is made fresh to order and you can definitely taste the quality and freshness of every plate. Will definitely be coming back again. Additionally, our waiter Bill was outstanding! Portions aren’t the largest, but not small by any means either, and that’s expected at a fine dining experience.
Great authentic Italian inspired food. Delicious fish dishes made with the freshest ingredients. Craft cocktails very good and nice wine list. Wonderful atmosphere reminded me of restaurants in Italy. Attentive service also.
We had an office party here and the food, service and atmosphere were top notch! It was an amazing experience. Chef Ken was on hand to explain all of the dishes to us...what a treat! Highly recommend- you don’t have to go downtown to experience great Italian or seafood...unless it’s Trattoria Luca lol
Fantastic upscale Italian food in IOP. One of the best restaurants around. Skip the hotel restaurant and get a reservation here. Frito Mixto was the freshest, most delicious and lightest fried dish I've ever had. Poached octopus was tender and very tasty with beans and bacon. Fresh pasta with crab and Meyer lemon was outstanding, bright and cooked perfectly. Grouper entree with pomegranate reduction was superb. Was too stuffed for dessert. Service was also fantastic, friendly and attentive. A must try.
Went here for a birthday dinner and was pleasantly surprised! Its a beautiful Italian restaurant with views of the ocean. Our food was delicious and very tasty. I had the Riccota Gnocchi with oyster mushrooms from the local Mempkin Abbey. It was great yet on the smaller side. Wine selection was decent and the menu had a little for everyone
Chef Ken and Eric, and the full team were incredible.
Not sure how we managed to book the entire restaurant, but it was magical.
A great favorite for fresh seafood; nothing fried. Only delicious Italian inspired dishes with the best ingredients, expertly prepared. Also, a fantastic wine list. We brought our 11 year old this time to celebrate Daddy's birthday, and they accomodated her limited palate offering fresh pasta with marinara sauce and parmesan. She ate every bite. We all shared a dessert that was to die for.
This restaurant was amazing! My wife and children have some VERY complicated dietary restrictions. We called ahead and the chef was willing to make something specifically for my wife and we found that there were a couple of options for the kids. We arrived and were greeted and waited on by the nicest, most accommodating staff! Carmella was fantastic and the food was incredible! The restaurant is charming and comfortable. We were so happy with our experience that we came back again the next night! This time the chef came out to the table to share a special condiment called Mugolio. My wife's dish was very similar to the night before so he wanted to do something extra for her. We will be back as soon as possible for a family reunion and we can't wait!
Well- crafted menu and flawless preparation. Service was top-tier as well! Highly recommended.
Our favorite! Always so good! Portions just right, sauces are amazing, and the staff so helpful and prompt! Love it!
Group of 18 for dinner and served family-style. Service was excellent and the pace of the meal was perfect. Each of the four courses was wonderful and included antipasta/salad, two pasta dishes, and fish/steak dishes. The chocolate mouse to finish was the best I have tasted. I cannot say enough about the attentive servers that were waiting on us. The only drawback was the noise that our group created with our talking. It may not have been a perfect night for other guests.
The Italian food was quite good. On the menu they do have calamari but they call it something else. Portions are a little small for me but still tasty. Nice location and cool decor. Good views if you get a decent spot.
