Honestly one of the best wonton soups i have ever had. It was extremely flavorful and honestly set the mood for the rest of the meal. Honestly will probably just call and order the soup to go.
Everything else was great but man that soup!! 🤌 Chef kiss
After several visits to Mia I have to say it’s our favorite place to eat anywhere.
We always order the Asian greens, Thai sausage and baby wings. Staff are attentive and always a lovely experience.
The vibe of this place feels very refined, I suspect that should come from the description itself, and the servers are top-notch in their hospitality. Furthermore, the food is very well prepared but slightly a bit too sweet. I loved my time there and would definitely go again.
Definitely try the lotus root fritters and southern Indian style prawns. They are done really well.
Ordered sauteed Asian greens, lotus root fritters, prawns in southern Indian Kerala curry, cambodian style lemongrass and peanut marinated beef tenderloins, fried chicken dumplings (special of the day and an order of naan. The seasoning was on point for all the dishes. My favorite was the curry.... I recommend ordering a side of rice to sop up all that yummy curry sauce. Husband loved the lotus fritters. The greens were tasty but a little hard to chew, same with the cambodian style beef, tasty but a little tough. 6 small dishes were plenty for the two of us. I wish we could have tried more dishes and if we are ever back in Ithaca, would definitely go again. Service gets a 4 star because I wanted to order a side of rice after we had already started eating. Even though there was a waiter free near us, he said we had to wait for our waiter and that took awhile. He was busy dealing with two of this other tables... personally I think that's poor customer service.
Oh...we ate too much!
What a great dining experience. What an amazing pallette of flavors was presented to us today.
This is definitely one of the best restaurants here in Commons.
No description is necessary, just take a look at these photos!
Both service and food were outstanding!
Definitely recommend sitting at the bar. Rachel was our bartender and she is not only personable and knowledgeable, but also has the urgency I remember being key when I worked in the industry. Excellent service. Excellent food. Would recomend to anyone looking to have a nice meal.
Great dinner in Ithaca. Service was fast, the food was tasty. Would have appreciated some more variety with the apps. My main course was a tad heavy on the sale but asides from that it was great.
Great spot for asian bites. Went at a busy time but we were seated after a short wait. The food was excellent, particular standouts were the Kerala style shrimp, the lotus root fritters and the chicken dumplings (one of the specials when we went). Our sever, Will, was super attentive and help make it a great experience. Would definitely come back.
Firstly, huge shoutout to the waiter wearing glasses as he was extremely courteous and helpful. We ordered a bunch of appetizers ( such as the roast duck puff pastry & mussels) and they were all great. It is definitely one of the better restaurants in Ithaca. Also, great prices for sure. We ordered a ton of food and it came out to a very reasonable price. Would come back again.
We came to eat and the food was good, the menu was complicated and some of the dishes seemed to not have names. We ate a chocolate lava cake for dessert and the raspberry sauce was on the ice cream and ruined the flavor. The lava was almost non existent. We ate some puff pastry as well as some butter chicken and they were good. Service was fast as well.
Love the tapas options. These are primarily asian or asian fusion options. Very reminiscent of Just a Taste that was in Ithaca. The flavors and execution were on point, as always. ( I've been here many times) the only real negative is that the tables are wayyyy too close together...about 12" apart, so you're practically elbow to elbow with the stranger sitting next to you. I'd expect this from a NYC restaurant but in Ithaca I'd like to spread out a bit more and not feel like someone is practically sitting on my lap and I'm eating like a T-rex. They have some outdoor dinning, weather permitting which is a nice option for space but could use some sprucing for ambience and pigeon proofing.
The food was exceptional. Some of the best food I've ever tasted. The pork belly melts in your mouth. We had a lot of food options ordered and didn't find a dish we didn't like. Also the Fitzgerald drink is delicious.
Wow, just wow. My partner and I had 4 dishes and they were all 5 stars. The different curries all tasted amazing. The waitress was extremely helpful in guiding me to gluten free options and made sure my partner and I had dishes that suited each of our spice preferences.
Likely in the top 3 restaurants in town based on the quality and variety of the menu. Some of the menu items are so tasty that it can be hard to not just repeat the same order every time you come here. Highly recommend. They are nearly always busy and have been shortstaffed recently, so get there on the early side.
My wife and I had dinner at Mia during our visit to Ithaca at the end of June 2023. We are very fussy about where we eat so the fact that we ate there on each of the three nights we were in Ithaca speaks for itself. All the food that we ate there was delicious, flavorful, and simply outstanding, much better than some of most fancy overpriced restaurants we have tried. The menu items are a masterful fusion of various Asian cuisines, so they have a trace of the original inspiration yet have their own identity, such as the duck samosas made in puff pastry. We were pleased that there were numerous small plate tapas offering, so we could try various things and eat light when we wanted to. This was also interesting since the tapas was Asian and not Spanish. The restaurant has a very pleasant and modern ambience, and the music is not too loud. The tapas offerings and the entrees are reasonably priced and definitely a great value. If you are in Ithaca, this is a great place to go if you like Asian food.
What we ate:
Pork shank marinated in five spice Thai yellow curry w/ fried bun
Chicken satay with peanut sauce
Roast duck puff pastry samosa
Prawns in southern Indian Kerala curry
Jasmine Rice
Lamb & beef kofta kebab with mint yogurt raita & mango chutney
Homemade Vegetable Spring Rolls
Thai Mussamund beef curry with cashew nuts, etc.
Mango Cheesecake
Chocolate Lava Cake
Service was on point - Melanie served us. Very friendly and comes by just the right number of times. Attends to detail such as giving us a new plate after our first dish which had a strong intense flavor. Cocktails - although a bit pricey, you get good quality. Had the Boulevardier. The food itself was almost too flavorful that you couldn't really enjoy it. I think it was the Yum Tun (not sure about the name) salad - the dressing was too sweet - the only criticism of the night.
Friend took me there. Highly recommend the baby wings but not the curry wings. One of us had the stone bowl shrimp which looked really nice. Plenty gluten free and Veggie options. The Lotus root here is only meh. They had a lot of... Child labors? The servers look super young.
We were in the area for four nights and our dinner at Mia was our absolute favorite. Every dish was incredibly flavorful. Our particular favorites were the wings, the bao buns and the salmon curry special. The only thing I didn't like was the guava margarita but the rest of the meal made up for it! Get dessert, trust me. The vegan chocolate torte was to die for!
