The sweet potato waffle fries were great because they were not overcooked. My beet salad was delicious, but the chicken was tough. The basil smash is a delicious drink! The peanut butter jelly burger is not the same as it uses to be before COVID (my cousin said it didn't have the wow factor- the flavor wasn't as strong and the bun wasn't the same). Thr Cuban sandwich was very delicious. My other friend had a pesto special samdwich.

After a morning of bird watching in Sapsucker Woods, we were famished. We drove into town and stumbled upon Red's Place accidentally. We had Sausage & kale soup, Macaroni & Chhes with Chicken appetizer, Cheesesteak & the French Onion Burger. Soup was fabulous! mac & cheese, amaz, it actually was award winning as we sat under the plaques, and the Burger was amazing and cooked a perfect. Medium rare. Served a great choice of craft beers as well.

THE REDS ARE COMING! Ladies and gentlemen, fellow Americans, I stand before you today to expose a clandestine operation masquerading as a quaint eatery known as Red's Place! While this establishment cunningly lures unsuspecting patrons with stylish red decor and cool ambiance, I am here to shed light on its true nature—an amazing place to eat delicious food! Make no mistake, my fellow citizens, Red's Cafe is a haven for subversive flavors, designed to infiltrate our taste buds and weaken our resolve. The mac and cheese, a seemingly innocent dish, is nothing more than a devious concoction of creamy textures and seductive flavors, leading us down a treacherous path of indulgence. Underneath the guise of comfort food, it slyly whispers it's yummy deliciousness, softly indoctrinating those who partake. Be warned, once you try the Red's Pot of Gold, you'll be unable to resist going back again and again!

I like a good Cuban sandwich, but Red's is just okay. I can't put my finger on just exactly wasn't right about it. I don't think it was the rum basted ham, but perhaps it was the absence of house made dill pickles (referenced in the menu description) that left it feeling unfinished. After tasting the brisket, I realized it would have been a better choice as it was delicious. The soup special was creamy brussel sprout with bacon, and while it was more watery than creamy I still enjoyed it. But unless you grew up eating cabbage stew, you may want to skip this soup.. Skip the Boom Boom Shrimp, it was just okay, and not worth the price. I'd go back for the Conflict of Brisket sandwich.

We were out for a casual date night and didn’t know what to expect when we randomly ended up here on a Tuesday night in early October. We were warmly greeted - it was a wait for a table so we opted for a seat at the bar. The bartender was prompt and his service was on point and friendly. The food options were abundant, and everything we chose was fully enjoyed.

The PB&J Burger is the stuff of legends! Add the sweet potato fries and you go to epic level! Great service. Pub-like atmosphere. My absolute favorite Ithaca restaurant.

The menu options are super different with this spot I was impressed. The food, the outside atmosphere being downtown and music from the commons makes this destination the perfect night dinner spot. We'll done to the cook also food was amazing.

Stopped here on our way out of town. Highly recommend! The burger was cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of toppings. Opted for the sweet potato waffle fries and they did not disappoint 😋 Also a great place for local brews!

2022: Still fantastic. Got the burger and sweet potato fries and enjoyed them a ton! Highly recommend. Also, fantastic mixed drinks! Worth the money, which I don't say often. 2020: Absolutely delicious. Both the gluten free burger bun and the normal one. I was particularly impressed with the loaded fries.

I visited here once with my friends and tried a Strip'n sandwich. It was so delicious and tasted like Philly steak with potato in it. My friend ordered a cheese flatbread which was also yummy but I forgot the name. Will definitely visit more and try other options.

Wonderful food, clean restaurant, great atmosphere. Outstanding beer selection to pair with your food. Homemade dressings, fresh ingredients. Kathy was most accommodating, super friendly!! She shared the history of Red's and the local area, since it was our first trip to the 'downtown' Ithaca area. The Thai wings are Amazing!! The Cuban was yummy with a mix of fresh flavors and ingredients that I would never think of, but they make it work! My hubby had the Cowabunga, which is some if the most tender well seasoned smoked brisket, topped with an apple slaw! The Ithaca Lakeside lager was crisp, cold, and a nice light hop flavor with a fruity flower finish! We splurged and got the mixed berry cobbler for dessert, and Kathy made sure we got hot fresh coffee for us when we asked. We know were to come to eat, sit and relax the next time we come into town! See you in May, when we come for our next Cornell Animal Hospital visit.

After a long weekend of camping we decided to stop in Ithaca on our way back home. Searched for a good bar downtown and Red's popped up and we're happy it did because it was everything we needed. Outdoor seating? ✔️ Good menu? ✔️ Kid friendly ✔️ gender neutral bathrooms? lol ✔️ It was located on a street that happened to be closed for traffic which was great. Burgers and tacos were delish and the kids food was perfect for them. If in Ithaca again we'll be back.
