The restaurant was very busy, but the waitresses and the staff were very polite. They were very friendly and very attentive. They were very fast to get to you and take your order. The cook's prepared everything extremely well done to my liking. I was very pleased with my experience.
Food, service atmosphere is great. This is a hometown country restaurant that's been around like forever. Where can you get fried porkchop for breakfast. On that note rice is on the breakfast menu as well. Homemade cakes and pies on hand. Definitely if your visiting Jacksonville NC stop here for a hometown experience.

Stopped in the other day for lunch with my husband and it's a great local establishment for breakfast, lunch and dinner! The owner and staff was very kind and attentive. And the owner even gave us free chocolate cake because it was our first time there. We will be returning again and again! Highly recommend this place for a quick bite and great service!

It was our first time visiting bakers. We enjoyed it but it wasn't the best little restaurant we ever been to. We did have four different servers and we weren't really sure who was supposed to be taking care of us and therefore we were constantly having to ask for anything we needed. No one was checking on us. The burgers were good but not great. They did have good onion rings so yes we will try it again. I had the bacon and lettuce and tomato and it was pretty sparse on ingredients. So as I said, we will give what's whirl. The atmosphere is great if you're looking for just a little down home. Diner.
Wonderful Southern Hospitality! I come here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner when i want some great southern diner food. If you like home made dessert or mom and pop restaurants, than this is the place to come!

Yesterday was my first time going here, and I must say I wasn't disappointed one bit. I've been recommended to come here many times from people on my fb, but never got around to going. It was well worth the wait, I was very pleased by the food not to mention my waitress Julie. She made my first time coming very welcoming. Now on to the food, I got the spaghetti dinner which included garlic toast, and salad. The spaghetti was very delicious and not to mention they added shredded cheese upon my request. I also got the chili cheese fries which were delicious as well, but what topped the cake was the butter pecan cake that I had noticed they had, when I discovered this, you know I had to ask for a piece. It was so good and I was content with paying the two dollars and some change for it; but to my surprise, since it was my first time coming there they have it to me for free. I was extremely grateful for them doing that, and will definitely be back soon.
Great little place for breakfast. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. Everything ordered was good; even the coffee.
