Wow! The food here was incredible! The staff was very friendly. Came here with my wife, our teens, and my parents. All of us had different menu items but all of us were very happy with our choices. I will definitely be coming back again. THEY PUT MAC AND CHEESE IN A BURRITO!!! This place speaks to my soul 🤣
Wow! Everything was delicious! The catfish portions were big and the deep fried Turkey leg special was phenomenal. I will definitely eat here again when I come to visit North Carolina. Service was super friendly! Ohhhhh how could I forget all about that delicious bourbon maple syrup! That’s the best I’ve ever had! Definitely suggest buying a bottle of that to take home!
The food was phenomenal and the wait staff were so friendly and attentive. I can't wait to come back and bring my husband! He'll be drooling over the shrimp and grits. The bourbon syrup with the chicken and waffles was also so tasty. The hot, freshly baked sweet potato bread was *chef's kiss*

Came to Jacksonville, NC for a retirement ceremony; our family decided to eat out afterwards. We found this gem. Wonderful atmosphere, the food was delicious, and the price is affordable. I had the shrimp and grits and it was amazing. The banana pudding cookie was everything. I highly recommend this spot for breakfast/ brunch/ lunch.
Surprisingly very busy on a Thursday brunch, however, serve is fast. Utensils are plastic spoons, forks, and knives. Drinks comes in plastic to-go cups. However, the food are very good! The chicken was kind of the dry side but the syrup helped it. The shrimp and grits is very good! Highly recommend getting that dish.
Got the shrimp and grits and biscuits and gravy, and both were very good. The gravy on the biscuits was thick and rich and the biscuit was nice and fluffy. The only negatives were the shrimp were a bit small. And could have done without the religious Jesus music in background.
This is the best southern food I've had since I moved here 6 years ago. The atmosphere was like they invited you into their home for a meal. I had the shrimp and grits. It was sooooo good. My husband had the biscuits and gravy and he enjoyed it very much.
I definitely agree with the review that said this place is a hidden gem in Jacksonville. I went here for the first time this morning and had an amazing experience. The staff was really nice and the food came out super fast. It was also the absolute best shrimp and grits I have ever had!!!I told my boyfriend about it so we could do breakfeast there again soon. 💕💕💕
My fiancé and I stopped in for a quick breakfast here today and we can’t think of a bad thing to say. The staff was super friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. The chicken was perfectly fried, the sausage gravy was incredible and the banana pudding cookies were out of this world. My fiancé said it’s the best cookie he’s ever had. They also have a convenient drive thru for pick up orders. We can’t wait to go back :)
Nice restaurant with delicious food options in the heart of Jacksonville! If you’re looking for a nice soul food breakfast or lunch meal, then this is the place for you! The food was seasoned to perfection. From the chicken and waffles to the collards. You might experience a little wait depending on when you go, but it’s well worth the wait. They also offer online ordering for those who’d like to pick-up their meal. There aren’t many soul food restaurants in the area, but I’m so happy that Southern Harvest exists! Not to mention, the staff were welcoming and extended great customer service! 10/10!
