Over the last decade or so, Jacksonville has been lucky to have several great pizza options take root. Ten years ago, Tony's was the main game in town, and the default answer when someone would ask "where's the best pizza?" Over the years, due to increasing competition and increasing their prices to mall-inflation levels, they've since lost that title. Later, Abruzzo's and Lazarra's had their time at the top. All three of these spots make a great slice, no doubt, but none of them are perfect. All of them have some slight defects whether it's the flavor of the sauce, the texture of the crust, or the quality of the toppings that prevents me from calling it "a perfect slice." I had heard some rumblings that there was a new challenger to the throne and its name was Casa Mia. Best slice in town they say. Well, that makes me curious.
Born and raised in New York, I grew up eating some great pizza. My standards therefore are pretty high, and I often find the hype to be overblown, so I had to see for myself. I don't normally come to this side of town, but I made the trip over and was immediately greeted by very friendly staff hustling at top speed. The lobby has old school NY pizzeria vibes, and there was several teenagers and families with kids seated enjoying a slice. A good sign. I ordered 2 slices of pepperoni and a drink, $9.99.
After a few minutes in the oven I was ready to dig in. Like most things in life, good pizza is all about balance, and here Casa Mia nails it. The star of the show is the crust, it is crispy throughout the entire slice without being the slight bit burnt, every bite was tender and chewy yet had that crisp that makes great pizza so good. The toppings were fresh and flavorful, the pepperoni was crisped to perfection. The cheese was perfectly proportioned and melted to the maximum level without being overly messy. You can get a legitimate cheese pull biting into this slice. The sauce, you won't be overpowered by basil, oregano or garlic here, you will just find a well balanced, laid back sauce that compliments the slice perfectly.
All in all, I would have to say they've done it. Casa Mia has created the perfect slice. Out with the old, and in with the new. The old king is dead, and a new king rises, and its name is Casa Mia. Long live the king.
I went yesterday after not being there for awhile. I had ordered the Margherita pizza on a gluten free crust and it was phenomenal!!! The staff Is awesome there.
I ate the entire thing
This place is always a treat to go to. The atmosphere is so comfortable and relaxed. The people are always super friendly. I love how the owner is so active and involved in the day to day operations. He interacts with everyone and really makes sure everyone is taken care of. Everything on the menu here is amazing and worth a try for sure. I would add photos but I am doing this after have finished our meals and since our plates are still spinning there’s nothing to take a picture of lol. Next time I’ll definitely take some pictures to show off the amazing deliciousness.
I had a slice of Casa Mia’s pizza for the first time yesterday at a birthday party, and was so in love w/ it that I had to order it again for our friday night dinner! The menu is so detailed, the order process was so easy, and the delivery man was so kind! Easier and cheaper to get delivery through them than any other delivery service (UberEats, DoorDash, etc.) that we are used to in 2023.
More importantly, the buffalo chicken pizza was so AMAZING that I don’t think we will have leftovers tomorrow. The picture is the Buffalo Chicken Pizza w/ onions and ricotta added. Also, the free garlic knots were phenomenal (P.S. I don’t even like garlic knots, but I love theirs)!
My family and I went there to dinner tonight and what an experience!!! Jason and Bonnie made us feel as if we were family coming to dinner. The kids got to catch a pizza doe and play at making pizza. Jason is amazing his great warm attitude was matched only by the wonderful people who worked with him.
The food was delicious and you can taste the quality. It was like being back home in New York sitting at a pizzeria in little Italy! We had an fantastic experience 10 out of 10 recomme!!! Thank you Casa Mia we will be back for some more real soon🤩
This little place is amazing, and the service is some of the best you'll get. They go out of their way to be kind and helpful.
They'll often give you free garlic knots while you wait, and offer to refill your drinks, of course.
The French fries are absolutely delicious, and the pizza always comes out fresh and hot.
Everything is always pristine, including the bathrooms.
Went to Casa Mia for pizza and a calzone last night (4/25/2022) and it was gooood!! They have this garlic oil or garlic butter sauce that came with a couple of free garlic knots, and it was tasty. (One guy gave us a couple garlic knots for free while waited for our food.) We had extra garlic sauce so we put it on the pizza and calzone also. The pizza was crispy on the bottom, and it made all the difference, good job Casa Mia. Lots of good things here. The staff was friendly and attentive. They asked often if we needed anything, any refills on tea or more sauce. Highly recommend going here for food. Their tea had good flavor, not like the sugar-water you drink at the fast food restaurants.
Note (2/11/2023) they are updating their menu, which means prices may change as well. But make sure to stop by this place for great food. Getting a calzone today, minus the ham, and add the Italian sausage! Yummy
New date (5/4/2023) posting new pics of the menu. Came here for 2 slices of pepperoni and garlic knots. 😋
Love love love this place. The people are absolutely amazing and the food is soooo good. Steak & cheese is so good. Pizza is great. This is my #1 pizza place and now that I know they delivery, I won't need to go anywhere else.
First time ordering from Casa Mia Pizza and it exceeded expectations! Got pepperoni and it was great! Not dripping grease like some other places that make New York style pizza. Will order from there from now on.
We have been getting our pizza and hoagies at Casa Mia for over 3 years and buy atleast once a month. Every single time it was a 5 star experience. Best takeout in Jacksonville!

My family loves CMP! It is our go to spot! The staff is just as great as the food. Don’t settle for over priced chain pizza when you can fresh pizza at at a fraction of the price!
Literally the best pizza ive eaten in a long time. If i did food reviews id give them a 10 out of 10. I love food and this is one of the reasons i do. Great food will order again. 🙌🙌🙌🙌
We come here all to often and I’m not mad about it! Casa Mia family always greets us with cheer and serves nothing but excellence! Subs, pizza, knots, meat balls and everything is beyond any other in town!
Their food has always been awesome! All the pizzas, stromboli, subs, everything we've tried has been good. Tonight we tried the October special, pickle pizza and it was delicious! My daughter had a turkey sub and a cannoli for dessert. It was all SO good!
This is the best pizza and quality ingredients in all of onslow county! By far! It’s the only pizza we eat since we got here in 2021.
The staff was friendly and the dining area was clean. I will definitely be recommending to others. I absolutely love this place! My favorite pizza in Jacksonville (:
A truly exceptional meal that will put a smile on your face! Amazing subs made by Naomi. Great service, quick and efficient!
The Italian and the philly cheese steak
They are open for take out and delivery
Ordered delivery to Hilton Garden Inn. Delivery was quick, food was awesome. Had it brought to lobby instead of room (dog) and I planned to throw a cash tip at on top of the online tip, but they were so quick I missed them!
Love this place, we go here every time we want subs or pizza. Everything we’ve ever gotten has been great
