UPDATED:
After writing this review 3 weeks ago, the owner Howdy reached out asking us to come back and give them another chance on him. We did that tonight and I can honestly say it does look like they’ve gotten back on track. Service was relatively quick and the food was as good as I remember it being in previous years. Burgers were cooked perfectly and flavor was in point. My husband was able to get a milkshake which he hasn’t been able to get in a while and it was delicious! The restaurant was very clean and there was a busboy constantly checking the dish bins and making sure things were clean and tidy. Because I had seen recent reviews mention the bathrooms being horrible I checked the women's room out and it was immaculate. I have also attached some photos from this visit. All in all, I am very happy to say that we will continue to visit regularly like we used to! Thank you, Howdy for making sure that your awesome restaurant continues to be a local favorite!
Disappointed that Jumpin’ Jax seems have gone down hill. I wrote a rave review for this place under my other account 3 years ago but we’ve been in 4 times in the last year and each time it has been disappointing. My husband loved the milkshakes here but now every time we go in, the milkshake machine is broken (giving me McDonalds vibes). Even last time we went in, the person ahead of us ordered a milkshake but when we went to order they said it had just stopped working. The last time we went there was also no seasoning on the fries. The wait times have gone through the roof and I get that places are short staffed but when we went last time we asked for an extra side of aioli and the person (manager we thought) got it then went to another table to chat for several minutes with it in hand - we realized this when we asked the waiter again for the sauce and he literally went to take it from the other man’s hand standing at that other table. Today we waited 40 minutes to get 1 burger and 1 kids pizza. When the burger came out it did not include the fries so my husband had to ask for those. He also wasn’t given the kids drink to go with the meal and when he asked the gentleman at the counter he argued it was not included despite my husband pointing to where it states it’s included on the menu. When I got home and sat down to eat my burger I noticed the tomato was mushy and gross, it was missing pickles, and the patty was burnt to the point of tasting/feeling like ash around the outer edges (maybe it had been on the grill for the whole 40 mins we waited..?). We used to love supporting this local business but I’m not sure how much longer we’ll keep trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. Giving 2 stars because I know what they can be and part of me still wants to have hope.
This place is great. You walk up to order then they give you a card with a funny statment and scream it for you to claim your order. Our food was so good! I had a 904 chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries on a gf bun. They were very knowledgeable and careful with a gluten allergy. My husband had the chili dog which was huge. We were impressed and will be back.
Food was delicious! Came out quick and just as we ordered. The fries are very good. Burgers were cooked just right and loaded perfectly. Restaurant and seating area was clean, open, and very nice. Pasta salad was amazing!
I have been going to Jumpin Jax since they first opened, and I can't believe I am just now writing up a review. If you love burgers, then you owe it to yourself to give this place a try. In my opinion they have one of the better burgers in Jax. My go to burger is the Smokehouse burger, my wife usually goes with the Dynamite burger. Be warned though, these burgers are juicy and messy so make sure you have a lot of napkins at the table :)
Everything I have ever tried here has been great, including the hotdogs, pizza and chicken tenders. My sisters is a big fan of the grilled cheese. For desserts, they have cookies, cake and also do milkshakes. I haven't tried any of those yet, but they are definitely on my list. They also recently started to serve breakfast on weekends, which includes breakfast pizzas, wraps and sandwiches. I definitely need to make it out to try that also.
The venue is also always clean (you clear your own table into bins near the door, similar to the way Maple Street is set up), and the staff is always friendly. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area and are craving a good burger or pizza.
Second time we have eaten there. Parking is ok with an easy on if you are heading North on San Jose, going South a bit more of a challenge. Ordered 2 of the 904 Club with Fries. Was ok but to me a bit more bread than I like on a Club so 4 ⭐. I ordered the Chicago Hot Dog for $7.49 with Sweet potato fries which came out way over done so that dropped it to 3 ⭐. Wanted to send them back but were in a bit of a rush. Order entry is easy as is the table delivery of the food so 5 ⭐ for that.
Incredibly nice experience. The ambiance was great. The associates were great. The food was just as good. We got a 904 Chicken Sandwich and Jumpin Jax Burger as well as chessy bread w/marinara. Both burgers along with the fries and ORings were top notch. The cheesy bread was a non-yeast pizza dough experiment with cheese. It was good, but underwhelming. The place was clean along with bathroo.s and condiments were readily available. We will be back to try more menu items.
Yummy burgers and the cole slaw was amazing. We also ordered chicken tenders for my little one. They were good too. Everything was nice and hot.
Sooo GOOD! Our first visit here and the staff was absolutely incredible, so friendly and helpful. We shared a strawberry milkshake that was large enough for two people. It was chock full of strawberries a day topped with a decadent whipped cream. My husband chose the thin crust chicken Mediterranean pizza and he thoroughly enjoyed it! (He loves pizza and had nothing but positive compliments about it!) I chose the Duval burger (thinking it was the one patty, I was wrong! That will teach me to read the menu!) It was out of this world and 3/4 of it came home with me! Loaded with fresh tomato, lettuce, red onion slices and pickles and their Jumpin Jax sauce....it was PHENOMENAL! I also upgraded to onion rings and they were the best onion rings I've had in a long time--very crunchy and BIG! We will absolutely be coming back as they have a gigantic menu and lots of vegetarian options for our daughter. A Jacksonville hidden gem for sure!
Great burger. I had the bleu cheese with bacon and my 11 year old granddaughter had the Jumpin Jax burger. Hers was gone within 5 minutes! The seasoning on the fries was very tasty. Service good. We were the only people there....off time of day, around 2. A bit pricey for a burger and fries...$10.50 and 12.50. Great for a treat but I can't afford it on a regular basis with a senior fixed income.
Went to Jumpin Jax for the first time tonight for a school spirit night. I hadn't heard a whole lot about this place so I wasn't really sure what to expect. Now I'm really disappointed no one told me to try this place sooner!
For so long I've been led to believe there aren't many options for good, non-chain restaurants in Mandarin. I thought I had to drive all the way to Town Center for a good burger. Lies!
The burgers are delicious. First, let's talk about the kids burgers. They are perfect little sliders. Unlike kids burgers at so many restaurants, they did not resemble sad lifeless wafer patties from a crummy fast food drive thru. These kids burgers were plump, juicy and throughly cooked. The only cautionary tale for kids meals is you may want to consider ordering the fries "without the spicy" as my little would say.
As for burgers for the adults in the room, you better come hungry. Even the simplest, basic cheeseburger is so flavorful you won't want to leave any behind on your plate. And the fries are on point. I am a committed ketchup girl, as in ketchup belongs on French fries. Period. Well, let me tell you, I tried a nibble of one before I grabbed the ketchup. These fries are perfection! No ketchup or other condiments required. Perfectly crisp and crunchy on the outside, fluffy potato cloud on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. I don't care what side you think you want with your burger or sandwich. Order the fries.
After all that, you're going to be so full and so satisfied. But don't get up to leave just yet. You simply must try a milkshake. Heavenly. So thick and creamy you'll think there's no way you can drink it with a straw, but they are blended to perfection, just barely liquid enough to sip to enjoy. And they come complete with whipped cream and a cherry.
The last little detail that makes Jumpin Jax even more delightfully fun is their unique take on giving out order numbers. This fine establishment does not reduce its valued guests to a number. And you certainly won't be getting a vibrating pager. Instead, you get a quirky table name such as "the quietest mouse in the library" or "the ripest banana in the bunch" or "most likely to find buried pirates treasure." This adds to the fun while you wait for your food to be served.
We will be back. Soon and often. And next time I'm trying the pizza! I'm so glad we checked this place out for the school fundraiser and I'm excited to have a new local favorite!
Each time I've come into this place, the staff is friendly and try to help with ordering. Its quick and easy. They hand out motivation sayings as your order "number". Once they say the motivational quote, you get your food
I have always ordered the Dynamite Burger. It's awesome. My side was the onion wings which were amazing. If you want a great burger , check this place out.
It was a nice treat finding this place. I needed something quick but not "fast food". I ordered the Caribbean chicken salad in a wrap. They allowed me to customize and remove 2 ingredients, much appreciated. The wrap was flavorful and the portion was decent, I will have it again. The food came quickly, actually a lot quicker than others who were seated when we arrived. It looks like a lot of them ordered the burgers and pizza which I assume are cooked to order. Let me highlight the individually packaged lemon wedges near the drink service station, it says a lot about the importance the owners/managers place on cleanliness. It makes a difference.
Wow! We live on the Southside and had never heard of Jumpin’ Jax but we got a coupon via TapOnIt Jax and decided to check it out. We left stuffed and happy! The portions are pretty big, burgers cooked perfectly! I had the Air Thang Burger minus the mushrooms (ah-mazing), my husband had the Smokehouse Burger and the brownie milkshake and our 4yo had the kids cheeseburger sliders. Everything was delicious! I highly recommend asking for an extra side of their homemade aioli to dip your fries in. Family friendly atmosphere and the staff were all very kind and attentive. We will definitely be coming back! Especially are so many other awesome sounding things on the menu we want to try.
We thought we'd give this place a try and are glad we did. We had a Local Flavor coupon ($30) so we got two 14" pizzas. We were there at 6pm on a Tuesday and there were just a few people there, although I imagine they do get busy a little later. Plus, they are in a good location for the lunch crowd, although there are a multitude of competitors close by.
Jumpin Jax is an open-air concept, with minimal wall decor, tile floor and an open ceiling; thus I can imagine that it can get quite noisy in there. A nice young lady greeted us on arrival and explained the menu options. Ordering was quick and easy. Drinks are self-serve. They do have beer and wine available.
We got "The Five" with mushrooms, garlic, smoked bacon, grilled chicken and roasted red peppers, and the "Veggie Patch" (ingredients are on their menu). We had our pizzas in a matter of minutes. Both were really good, but my wife and I both agreed that the "The Five" beat out the "Veggie Patch", hands down. Both pizzas arrived really hot, straight out of the oven - no sitting under a heat lamp.
The smoked bacon flavor really came out without being overpowering. I would have liked more garlic (I could barely tell there was garlic on it), but I'm a garlic lover anyway, so I may be biased.
We are not huge burger fans, so we will probably just stick with pizza the next time around.
Overall I would highly recommend this place. And be sure to get the 14" pizzas! They are twice as large as the 10" for only a few bucks more.

EDIT 15 Jan 2019
Wife and I went there for lunch and it was as good as our previous visit. Ordered the "JJQ Chicken Pizza" and the "Mediterranean Chicken Pizza".
We got there about 12:15 or so and, surprisingly, no line to order. However, after about 20 minutes there was a line about 20 deep.
Pizza's arrived fresh out of the oven and nice and hot. Both were delicious. We are not huge fans of BBQ sauce on pizza, so we got the sauce on the side on the "JJQ". As it turns out the JJQ doesn't really need BBQ sauce - it was very flavorful even with no sauce.
The "Mediterranean" was just as good as the JJQ. It has a Balsamic-Honey sauce kind of dribbled over it - really tasty!
As before, the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. When we left the place was about full, which was good to see.
We will be returning.

As I wrote above, we returned.
We got there around 6pm and there were about a dozen customers inside. We only waited about a minute in line to order - not bad at all. Plenty of seating available.
We got the Mediterranean Chicken and JJQ Chicken pizzas, thin crust. As with our other visits they were very, very good. I think I have to give the edge to the Mediterranean Chicken as my favorite - that little hint of balsamic vinegar they drizzle over it gives it a small but noticeable boost in flavor.
Don't get me wrong, the JJQ is also very good. It seems they are putting more BBQ sauce on it than previously. Personally I think they should cut back a little on the BBQ sauce. Otherwise it was excellent.
We noticed that they sell a LOT of burgers here, even though there's a Five Guys just a few storefronts down. We haven't tried the burgers yet but everyone seemed to be enjoying theirs.
As I said above, we will be returning.
I ordered the Flippy Floppy a cod sandwich and it was delicious!! I enjoyed the slaw on top of the cod. My husband had the chicken fingers. He said they were breaded just right & enjoyed the honey mustard dipping sauce. We are from Kansas City.
Perfect, thick burgers. Offers a military discount. Delicious food. My husband really liked the beer :) Totally a place to take the family, grab a quick lunch, or have a fun dinner out!
