This is why I LOVE Zomato - so I can find little gems like Deerwood Bistro in a non-descript strip mall serving great food at reasonable prices! Instead of the “same old” at a Panera Bread across the street, I had the loveliest curried chicken salad on toasted whole grain with a slaw - we’ll call it “Greek-style” - with a slightly sweet vinegar base, onion, and feta cheese sprinkled on top! Never would have thought of that myself, but it rocks!
For me moving to a new area of town made it necessary to find not yet discovered restaurants. Today my find was the Deerwood Bistro. Situated at the far left end of a strip mall overflowing with chain restaurants, this family owned and run spot was just what I was hoping to find. The first step in the door, my eyes catch a dessert case full with fantastic goodies, one of which was a tray of Cannoli, I had to look away, or it would have been six to go please. The restaurant interior is bright and spacious a combination of booths and tables. You order at the counter, get your number grab a glass depending on your drink choice, coffee and cups are available in the coffee area, refills are free.
We love this place for brunch. Modest price and the staff and owner are always friendly. I usually get a Benedict and it's always fresh. Wife gets omelette which she enjoys every time. Keep it up deer wood! We will be back!
We really like this place. Been there a few times for breakfast and lunch. It's becoming our "go to" place. Great coffee. Very good food. Friendly staff.
Really Liked It. Our Saturday afternoon lunch at Deerwood Bistro was really good once we figured out where to order. It was our first visit and when we walked in we were not greeted, so we were looking around for some instructions. We finally figured it out: you order at the counter, pay and then you are given a number to put on your table. The cashier forgot to give my husband a number so he had to go back, wait in line again and get one. A little confusing for first timers and some signage might be helpful. That being said, my French Dip had plenty of flavorful roast beef and the homemade horseradish sauce was 'out of this world' good. It was creamy and tasted like horseradish but didn't have the bite you normally have with horseradish -YUM! My husband had the ham, Swiss and bacon panini which was nicely toasted and tasted good but he would have preferred a heartier sandwich with more meat. The mac and cheese was really cheesy but had a distractingly grainy texture whereas we both prefer creamy cheese. The Diet Coke tasted fine to me but my husband had a problem finding a fountain drink that tasted okay to him. He tried almost all of them and then gave up and just drank water. The staff was really nice and brought out some delicious bread with olive oil/vinegar for dipping before our meals arrived. I would definitely like to return and try some of the other menu items.
My friends and I had breakfast here. The food was great and our server was attentive. I just wish we had been properly greeted.
$9 for a half sandwich and soup. It was good, fresh and service was good but pricey for a lunch...
We are on our second dinner trip here. Tiffany, our server & hostess, took fabulous care of us & our seafood dishes were among the best we've ever had! They just recently started opening for dinner and you won't find a better meal in Jax.
I've eaten breakfast, lunch, and now dinner here, and I can honestly say I was pleased on every occasion. If you are seeking fine dining with world class chef prepared meals look elsewhere, but if you want very friendly staff, good home made food, and excellent desserts give Village Bread Cafe a try.
The Best Place to Have Breakfast and Lunch. This place is awesome! I tried many of the items from the menu and all of them were great. The staff and owners are very friendly. You have to try their turkey vegetable soup with fresh bread. It is awesome!!! Now I stop by every Sunday ,,, I give this place five stars. D.
Amazing breakfast food! The 2 eggs 2 pancakes (and bacon or sausage) is a ton of food for $6.99. We will definitely come back here!
Wow!!!! My husband and I went out for a Sunday breakfast. We were hesistsnt because you know, Sunday brunch is a popular idea and every restaurant tends to be packed with a wait. Well, Deerwood Bistro was clearly busy this Sunday morning, but after conveniently ordering at the counter, and knowing we may be waiting a while, the food came out in literally 6 minutes. And it was so so yummy! Hot and ready. We met the owner, Violetta and her daughter Bella, who were so hospitable and sweet. Come to Deerwood Bistro for a wonderful meal!!! 💗💗
Family owned establishment.
You order at the counter, when you walk in.
They give you your beverage glass to fill at the station in the back, then you pick a table. We sat outside on the patio with our pup. They deliver your food and any condiments you might need.
The coffee, omlete, and potatoes were all good. The pancake was thick and hard to cut.
Very warm and cozy inner decor.
Deerwood Bistro is a local food lovers paradise. A friendly, positive, and warm family owned atmosphere with consistent quality food choices presented to make one return many times over. Multiple generations enjoy the convenience of fresh ingredients prepared to present a reliable culinary experience and daily specials to add a savory twist to a menu that does not disappoint from breakfast to lunch! This place is an oasis to feel like you are at home away from home!
What a stupendous experience!!! We had our monthly men's Christian fellowship group meeting here and the staff was so accommodating. The food was great and abundant. The service is unparalleled. This is going to be our spot going forward, every Saturday before the first Sunday.

I live nearby, but had never stopped in because I thought it was a sit-down lunch and dinner spot. It's actually a great, all-day breakfast and lunch fast-casual restaurant.
Both the girl taking orders and the short haired women working the dining room were warm and friendly. The food was brought to our table within minutes and looked fantastic.
The chicken salad was amazing! Served on grilled multigrain. The veggies were fresh and crisp.
I'm excited to have a new lunch spot so close to home. We were in and out within 35 minutes. Can't beat that!

Excellent food and even better service. The staff was so friendly and accommodating; you def don't get nearly the same level with a chain restaurant. A new favorite lunch spot!
A favorite place to meet friends for lunch. Love the personal service, the Avocado Salad, and the scrumptious omelettes. I've dined at the Deerwood Bistro dozens of times, and have never been disappointed.
Every time I come, the food is delicious! Everyone who works here is super nice. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Deerwood Bistro is a great little place to go for breakfast and lunch. On this visit my wife and I went for lunch. I love hot sandwiches, so I tried the bacon, ham and cheese panini. This was a good choice for me and it had a good portion of ham and bacon on warm, pressed ciabatta bread. I would order this sandwich again. The sides at Deerwood include things like, chips, fruit, slaw and bread pudding. I wanted to give the bread pudding a try. It was very good with a nice subtle vanilla taste. If you are a fan of bread pudding, you will want to give this a try if you visit. My wife ordered the BLT since that is usually her go to sandwich. She really liked Deerwood Bistro's version because instead of just simply using toast, the BLT was on thick fresh bread that was buttered and grilled. The bacon was also very crisp. Service was good and there is indoor and some outdoor seating as well. We will definitely be going back for breakfast and lunch.

This place is great!!! Their seafood alfredo is scrumptious!!!! I’ve never had a better pasta for this price..and the portion size is so generous! Worth every penny!!! Their pancakes 🥞 are as close to homemade as you’re going to find & the lump crab omelette was delicious!!! The staff is so friendly and they have a great selection. The only drawback is the hours...it takes some getting used to.
“I recently dined at Dearwood Bistro and was thoroughly impressed by both the exquisite cuisine and the impeccable service. The menu showcased a variety of innovative dishes, blending bold flavors and beautiful presentation. The attentive and knowledgeable staff provided us with excellent recommendations and ensuring our satisfaction. I visited the place three times in the week I stayed in Jacksonville FL .
I had the Reuben sandwich with Greek salad, my wife had Reuben sandwich with saesar salad and my cousin had salmon on the salad
We can’t recommend Deerwood Bistro enough for a fantastic dining experience.”
One of my favorite places to eat in Jacksonville. The owners Eddie and Violeta are wonderful people and they really care about their customers. The food is amazing and they will make it custom to your tastes. Whether it's lunch or dinner, if you want a wonderful place to eat at a great price Deerwood Bistro is for you. I love the green omelette made with egg whites. Again, the entire menu is superb. Bon apettit!!!
One of my favorite places in Jacksonville. Excellent service, generous portions and the atmosphere can’t be beat. Plus it’s locally owned so after a while they start to recognize you by name. Thank you, Deerwood Bistro!
Food was very good. Tried biscuits and gravy and breakfast burrito. This is worthy of your time. Recommended.
Been driving by this place for 2 years and we finally stopped in! I definitely regret not coming here sooner. The owner is extremely nice and helpful and the food is amazing. Hard to find good, fresh, small business restaurants now but we have found our new sunday spot.
Deerwood Bistro had been on my list to try for awhile. I brought my family on a Saturday morning, and although busy it was not overly crowded with seating available. Instead of table service, you place your order and pay at the front register. My husband is not a fan of this nor having to tip prior to being served. Personally I don't mind, and prefer the self service for drink refills. I ordered the omelet with avocado and hash browns. It was tasty. My son ordered the ciabatta breakfast sandwich and devoured it. My husband ordered the corn beef hash and hash browns and felt the portions too small. Overall, I would try Deerwood Bistro again... just without my husband lol.
Stopped on our way out of Jaxville hidden gem. Great service. Delicious food.
