All the food came out fast and piping hot, just like at out first visit, and it was all delicious!! Will absolutely be going back again and again!

We used to live in the area and went here all the time. We have tried other places around Jax but they really don't compete. Don't waste your time this is the place to be. Owner and staff are super friendly and we feel welcome every time.

New to Jacksonville, tried this place for the first time with my boyfriend last night. Service was quick, food was great, and recieved large portions for a decent price. Margaritas were nothing to write home about, but not bad. Will definitely be returning soon.
Best overall Mexican spot in had in my experience. Service is always super fast.. Never had a bad meal and cheap beer, stiff margs.. And best part is its 3 min from my house. Highly recommend if you want authentic Mexican, and have been going to la nop. Tequilas is want la nop aspires to be!

Incredible service every time we come here but tonight I felt I HAD to write a review. My husband and I were in the area and starving so we decided to stop in. It was a Friday night but we have NEVER seen the place so packed. Only waited 10 minutes to be sat. Once we were sat we already had chips and salsa waiting for us and was greeted 20 seconds after. I figured it would be awhile until we got our food but didn't mind because I knew it was busy. NOPE our food arrived 5 minutes later believe it or not. Fresh and delicious. Had a refill of our drinks before we were even finished. This is how you run a business. I have never received better service in my life ANYWHERE. This place is so amazing. Our waitress deserved the tip that we have him. You won't be disappointed here.
Love this place!. My husband and I have been going to Tequila's since they opened in 2011 and it quickly became one of our favorite restaurants. Their prices are fantastic for the serving sizes (which I can typically take home half of my order) and they have unbelievable lunch specials. They have 2 for 1 drinks all day every day which is a great deal. We have never had bad service, but if we go in during a really busy time our service isn't over the moon amazing, but I don't expect that from most restaurants. We almost always get the same server (Jesus) who knows our drink order and can typically guess what meal we will each order. Their house salsa is decent, but if you like spicy I would suggest you ask for their habanero salsa, it is delicious and made fresh daily. If you are expecting 5 star restaurant service, this may not be place for you, however if you are pleasant and friendly with your wait staff, you may enjoy your visit a bit more.

Loved their menu items. I got the number 6 combination dinner that came with rice, beans, a taco, and a enchilada. The best thing was the 2 for 1 and the mexicanthat I actually knew. :)
Better than the other place. If you're from around Jacksonville, you know the other place I am talking about, and if you dont know what I mean - La Nop. Tequila's so much better, cleaner, tastier, fresher, than our old place. If you want good Mexican, you owe it to yourself to check out Tequila's.
Been here a few times now and it's a great place. The service is great....friendly and fast. The chips and salsa they bring to the table is great! Doesn't taste like salsa out if a bottle for sure! Ordered the diablo shrimp this time and that's going to be my go-to meal when I need comfort food. Oh and the margaritas.....yummmmmm....I was so happy after one. The patron classic is THE ONE!
Outstanding! We had the California Burrito and Beef Chimichanga for lunch and followed it with Flan for dessert. The atmosphere was great and our waiter Alvaro was fantastic. We will defiantly be eating here again.

No more La Nap for us!!. So happy to finally have an alternative to La Napolera!! The owner is very experienced and friendly too! We have been in three times since we discovered this place. The chips and salsa are fresh and promptly brought to your table. They have a great menu and you can actually taste the tequila in the house Margaritas!! Everything we have tried has been wonderful! I consider myself a "foodie" and have had Mexican food all over the country. This place is as good or better than any place else I've been!! Give it a try. We're headed there now!!
I heard the place was good and it truely was. The chips were the freshest my brother in law had in jacksonville. The salsa had spice to it and the queso was delicious. The panzon burrito was almost ideal, I might suggest Guacaman added to it next time. I did not appreciate the rude waiter or his attitude towards adding chicken to a veggie burrito I was getting for my brother. Sure it was "special order" and could cost more, but this guy didnt want to bother asking the kitchen if theyd be willing to do it.I will definitely eat there again but under the service of anyone but that jerk waiter. If it is good and the service is better I will write another review. For now I can say, eat there but expect rude service unwilling to make the customer's wishes to their likings.
I Love This Place. I've been there for dinner at least half a dozen times and each experience there has been great. There are a lot of things on the menu that you don't always see at a typical Mexican restaurant, especially shrimp. I love the Shrimp Diablo (spicy), the Shrimp Vallarta (wrapped in bacon), and the Chili Colorado (pulled pork in a spicy sauce), all of which come with tortillas for making tacos. ( Hope I remembered the names correctly). Also it seems like it's always happy hour, as the margaritas have been 2 for 1 each time I was there, and they're gooood! (Good thing I live within walking distance - ha ha) The service is friendly and really fast.

Great food, wonderful service and the price was perfect!
Good food and pretty reasonable. We were really craving some fajitas and were no where near La Napolera and decided to try this place. Ordered fajitas for two, which was a ton of food. Comes with a pile of meat,two salads,rice,beans,and two cheeese quesadillas. Meat was slightly greasy but very good. One of my kids ate the Quesadillas and the other ordered a kids enchilada and liked it. Place was very busy,kind of loud and it took a while to take our order, but the food came quick. Family of four got out for $30. I think La Nap may have some competition.
Great experience!. My family and I have become regular dinners at Tequilas Restaurant. The food and service are outstanding! I have never had a meal that wasn't delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed, comfortable and very pleasant. The meal portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable.

Move over La Napolera. There's a new big player in town and it is the best. We've eaten at every single Mexican restaurant in Jax and we have always liked La Napolera. I never thought I would say it, but Tequila's beats La Napolea in every category. This is our new favorite Mexican joint. We've been 3 times already. This used to be the old Chinese joint, Jackie Wu's so the building is nice and clean. They have completely remodeled the interior and it looks quite contemporary and spacious. The Queso dip is unbelievable. It should be mandatory to order this. My favorite is the California Burrito; it's so huge, they put the everything but the kitchen sink in here. It's as big as the plate and delicious. Meat in every bite. How can you go wrong for $9.99. You'll be stuffed. I also recommend the Fajitas Quesadillas; here you get the best of both worlds! The service has always been prompt and friendly. We'll be back real soon! Ole!

My brother & I had dinner tonight at Tequila's for the 1st time. I actually did some research using urbanspoon to get an idea of what to expect. I enjoyed my meal and have to say that I don't get the few negative reviews of this establishment, but you have a right to your opinion even if it's wrong. The dining experience was very nice, authentic, service was very good and our entire meal was delicious, hot & prompt! I will most definitely be visting this restaurant again.
The Mexican Pastor Tacos.... ...are HEAVEN. I love this place. Been there 4 times since it's opened and will probably go once a week. So close to my home and so fresh and delicious! LOVE IT!
Everything has been good! Been multiple times and the Dos Equis flows like liquid gold into my stomach! Served in frozen mugs!!

Great first visit!!. Tequila's is a fantastic new Mexican restaurant located in the Gate Parkway area. I enjoyed a margarita on the rocks, the Supreme Quesadilla, and complimentary chips and salsa.
When you enter the restaurant it is a very inviting environment and I was greeted right away. The staff was attentive considering I was dinning alone and it was well past the dinner rush.
The salsa was a tasty blend of tomatoes, garlic, and cilantro blended to a perfect consistency and served appropriately chilled. My quesadilla was filled with refried beans, generous chunks of flavorful chicken along with well seasoned fresh mushroom and tomatoes served open (similar to an omelet). Accompanying my dish were the standard rice and "salad", consisting of shredded lettuce and sour cream.
Prices are reasonable and the menu is not just your typical "2 tacos, rice, and beans" (although they have that as well). There are many dishes with the familiarity of your favorite Mexican restaurants but with a twist of originality.
I will definitely be back and bringing a friend or two!!!

Good Mexican food in a clean/nice environment.... I had the supreme quesadilla and my husband had the chille relanos. The quesadilla was good! I tried the relanos and they were real pablanos and not bell peppers like other restaurants serve. It's not send you into orbit fantastic, but very good.
Awesome Mexican Food. The food at Tequila's is one word, AWESOME. Try the shreeded chicken burrito topped with queso. That is out of this world. This is in my opinion better than all the other Mexican Restraunts in town.
It is shredded beef, not greasy ground beef. To me, that's a sign of quality! The beef was tender and lean and delicious! The chicken was also shredded and not very greasy. Both kinds of flautas had peppers (not spicy) in with the meat. I took turns dipping the flautas into the salsa and then the queso. I don't know which way was better because they were both so good! I’ve eaten here both sit-down and takeaway tens of times at this point. The quesabirra (quesadilla) is my favorite on the east side of Jacksonville by far. The food is always piping hot and fresh, not to mention incredibly tasty. The prices are certainly reasonable, especially for the quality of food they offer. I’ve had the occasional minor mess up or missing item, but it is always enjoyable regardless. You will not be disappointed!
Excellent place. Food and service are pretty good. The chips and salsa were good, so we decided to order more. Ordered guacamole, tacos de lengua, fajitas, chicken consomme, and taco soup. And churros for dessert.

Overview: First time here. I loved the atmosphere, the food was great, and the staff was excellent. The bar was well equipped, and the brinks were made as they should be. However, the restrooms needed some work as there was only one sink working, and the towel dispenser was open and out of hand drying towels. I am sure the restrooms will be taken care of soon. What to know: There is a small area of outside seating—plenty of room in the restaurant. The bar seats quite a few. Overall the restaurant was pretty clean, and the service was prompt. I will be returning.

What a wonderful Mexican Restaurant located within a strip mall anchored by. Modern Winn Dixie. First plenty of parking as our group of 15 arrived at 12 Noon for a Pool Group lunch. It was great for all of us to get together first since March of 2020 when things locked down. Service folks still abide by mask and COVID rules so that's great. Service was top notch with 2 servers and a manager who assisted and made sure all our meals were just what we expected. We had at least 12 different meals so listing them is impossible but everyone enjoyed. Simply no reason not to stop in and enjoy. Seating is excellent with both inside and outside available as well as bar seating.
Love this place. A hidden gem, quality authentic Mexican food!!! The service, music, & atmosphere are awesome! Tasty food and nice portions. The margaritas are on point and I am definitely going to be a repeat customer!!!!

Came here to meet some friends. Unfortunately I didn't eat. It's a good central location to a lot of people we know. They do close at 9pm on Sunday. So if you are watching Sunday night football, might need to make other arrangements. We found out the hard way.

From the service to the food to the atmosphere, the experience is worth your while. Excellent value for their lunch menu options. I got the taco salad and left the restaurant full.
The food and service was great. The ground beef was the finest grind I remember having. The food wasn't overly spicy. The lunch combination meal prices are on the high side compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area (but do include soda).
My first time here. It was noon and we had a party of 6. Outside seating was available. We all ordered frozen margaritas and were told 15 minutes later that nothing frozen was available yet. We all reordered and everyone got their drinks except mine which came about 5 minutes later. And then our food orders came out, which mine was incorrect. I ordered fajita nachos with no shrimp and there were 3 shrimp on it. With all that being said, the drinks and food we did have were very good. There service could have been better though.
Our first time in for lunch & the food was fresh & delicious!!! We had the homemade guacamole made with all fresh ingredients & chunks of avocado. I had the Fajita burrito with steak, chicken & shrimp. It had amazing flavor & was huge! The shrimp were large & fresh & spread throughout the burrito. I don't like spicy, so this was a perfect dish for me. Their drinks were very tasty & prices for food were decent. We will definitely be back!!!
