If you’re in search of BBQ there is no better place. Friendly staff and a BBQ lovers menu. Start with the corn fritters no matter what! My choice was a beef sandwich on toast smothered in their mustard sauce. My fries received the their red sauce…. And the combination made my belly happy.
Ribs are good. Great service. sauces could be better but overall thumbs up I will definitely recommend them and I will go back. Ribs are nice and tender
Rib shack on baymeadows is some of the best smoked turkey and baby back ribs you'll get in Jacksonville! They're Monday night special baby backs in two sides is delicious!
The food here is actually pretty good but the service lacks. I feel like the young man that was taking our order had cooked all day and then came out to our table. We might give it another chance based on the food quality, though.
How often do we zip by this BBQ joint? Rib Shack has been here since 1972 and this is my first time? I should be beaten by the BBQ gods.
We both got the Rib Sandwich lunch special. Traditional ribs, bread, side, and sweet tea. I went with the BBQ beans and the wild redhead tried the coleslaw.
The ribs were very, very good. Eat off the bone tender. Very moist and doesn't require sauce. But we did try the Sweet Spicy sauce. Very tasty. We sucked them bones dry!
The sides were equally as good, although the coleslaw could have been a tad wetter. No biggie, we cleaned our bowls.
48 years in business is a testament to their quality. It ain't fancy. It ain't pretty, but hot damn, those ribs were tasty.
We'll be back.

Amazing place. Amazing staff. The food was on point and large portions for the price. Best southern hospitality and bbq in Jacksonville! Halee was awesome and constantly checked on us and made great menu suggestions. This place serves authentic bbq with lots of choices. I recommend EVERYONE try this restaurant!!!
The Rib Shack catered a party I hosted on Saturday night. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the pork and chicken along with green beans, baked beans, rolls and coleslaw. Everyone at the party raved about the food. The amount of food was more than sufficient as there were leftovers, which were snapped up very quickly.
The food was ready on time, service was great. I can’t say enough about how pleased I and everyone were about the food. Highly recommended!!
