Capital Plaza Hotel is arguably the nicest hotel in Jefferson City. I have stayed here several times when I have attended the annual conference for a non-profit organization I am a member of. I have always found their customer service and accomodations to be above average. Their meeting rooms are well lit, clean, and have decent a/v equipment. There might be cheaper options in town, but I would spring for the extra $ and go with this hotel. One other thing of note that I like is the sunken atrium and the multi-story waterfall. All of the rooms in the hotel exit onto balconies that surround the atrium area extending several stories up; this gives the lobby a very open and airy feel. Because of the waterfall feature there is always a low level of white noise in the common area which makes it nice because one can have a private conversation without others nearby being able to over-hear the discussion.

I attended a convention and the staff was very attentive. When requests were made they were very accommodating. There were a few minor maintenance issues that were addressed very quickly, in many cases almost immediately. Exceeding my expectations based on other hotels. Although the pool and waterfall weren’t working our group didn’t really have lots of extra time.

This was an excellent place to stay. My only regret is I left a brand new shirt behind and was not able to get ahold of any of the staff to locate it. That said, the room was comfortable, the view was excellent, and the breakfast bar was delightful. I hope to get an opportunity to stay at this location again soon. On a side note, the location from the Truman building is perfect and the restaurants down the street made the whole trip worth it.
