Some of the best places are those off the beaten path. The "hole in the wall" as people say. But this was anything but that! I immensely enjoyed my experience at the Waterwheel. Cute restaurant with a rustic and homey feel. Very warm and welcoming. The staff is SUPER nice and you can tell they love what they do. You get A LOT of bang for your buck here with the menu - I couldn't even eat all of my food. The portions are huge so keep that in mine. Fresh shell eggs, perfectly seasoned home fries, and pancakes made to perfection. It put me into a food coma after #IYKYK. If you're visiting Northern NH this is definitely a place you want to visit and check out. I will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone who asks.
5/5 for the pancakes 🥞, 4/5 for the other food I got, which was a breakfast wrap special and home fries. All the food had a nice home cooked feel to it, so if that is what you're looking for, then this is a great place to choose. The pancakes, while plate sized, are fairly thin. I tend to eat like a bird and I could probably eat two of them. If I end up going here again (probably will) I'll definitely be getting two, probably stuffed.
The owners and waitstaff were all very kind and attentive. The bathrooms were clean and so was the dining room. The dining room is somewhat small, so come early if you want seating, as it looks like they can get rather busy. Same deal with the parking.
Lastly, if you're looking for gifts, they have a great selection to choose from. From the parking lot you also get a beautiful view of Mt. Washington.
The BEST pancakes I have EVER had in my LIFE!
I tried the peanut butter and chocolate chip pancake and…. Woooow. It was HUGE! And soooooo delicious! The Eggs Benedict were just as amazing!
The staff is friendly. Very welcoming. This is our new favorite place when we need a day trip. Well worth the 2 1/2 hr drive from home.
Food was delicious and they give you alot !! Nice people too ! Loved it😋🥰
Great place for breakfast or lunch. Offers a unique gift shop right in the restaurant and has very interesting retro decor. Service was a bit slow, but they are short-staffed like most places in that area and the atmosphere is terrific so we didn't mind the wait. Pancakes are full- plate-sized and delicious on the thinner side which is how I like them. If you prefer yours fat and fluffy, don't order them. You can order more-than-ample three- or six-egg omelettes with a variety of meats and toasts, and French toast was good too!
Our family has been visiting the water wheel for the past 8 years over Thanksgiving weekend (Saturday & Sunday). It is our favorite tradition for our Santa’s Village trip with our children and relatives. This year was a little busier as we had four toddlers with us (all boys). Chris was such a kind and patient helper to our family and made the boys soo happy with her sweet words towards them. When I tell you this woman, who has only been with the team for a month, made this visit extra special, I am not exaggerating. The food is incredible and the staff is even better (if possible). We look forward to our trip again next year and seeing all those friendly faces again. Thank you water wheel staff for such a joyous experience.
Super cute gem that me and my wife stumbled upon! A must stop if you're in the area! Food was equally as great as the service - the owners turned the place around 20+ years ago and had both me and my wife loving every bit of it. The wife manages the front end while the husband cooks on the grill - so cute!
The best pancakes. I'm not a big fan of pancakes to be honest, but the honey almond pancakes they have are delicious.
Stopped here for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised by the warm, cabin atmosphere and the friendly owners. By suggestion I ordered two blueberry pancakes, sausage links, eggs and home fries.
The pancakes were incredible, packed with flavor and not too thick but not thin either.
The eggs were done perfectly, and the sausage was amazing and had a perfect snap to them.
I highly recommend trying this place for breakfast.
Great breakfast at truly reasonable prices. Everyone at the table was happy with their choices, including my kids with their silver dollar chocolate chip pancakes (they were more like 3" diameter!).
French toast, omelets, eggs Benedict, pumpkin pancakes, home fries, and so on. All of it was on point! The next time we are in the Littleton area again, we are certainly going back.
Best breakfast I've had in the White Mountains. I will be back to this place with my family anytime we may find ourselves in the area. A plus is that it's ~10 minutes to Santa's Village. However, I was sad that they are closed on Wednesdays because that was the day I initially wanted to go. Lucky for me, we were able to go back the next day and enjoy a hearty breakfast with generous portions. And this place uses real Maple syrup without charging you $2+ for it. I want to try every single thing on their menu. The pancakes are the size of a large plate. Go to this place for a great value for your money and scrumptious food.
Fun to explore the gift shop while waiting for our meal. Portion sizes are XL and I am grateful for that! We popped in just before closing and as we were leaving the staff was preparing to sit down together family style and enjoy a meal. Great sign to see they eat what they serve. Will come back through on way out of NH again for sure.
The place have a home like vibe, the pancake was the best I have had hands down. It was very lite with that maple syrup with it😋😋😋. The price was very affordable, I was not very pleased with the cornbeef hash, the cornbread was also one of my favorite, very light and 😋😋😋, home fries was on point and the scrambled eggs was a bit dry. Over all next time I am in this area I will stop in for something else on the menu.
Excellent, fast and friendly service from our waitress. We arrived near noon and were seated immediately. The prices are very reasonable with a lot of choice on the menu. I love that breakfast is served all day, but if you wanted to you can order from the lunch menu as early as 10 a.m. The food arrived in under 20 minutes. The size of the pancakes....wow, but they are so light and fluffy, they aren't heavy in your belly like every other pancake I've ever eaten. The coffee is great with free refills. The gift shop has a great selection of reasonably priced items as well. I will definitely be going back next trip up North.
While I didn't eat here,the food looked great 👍
We stopped for the gifts shop which had a lot of fun things to buy for gifts.
We got fudge. It was magnificent.
The location is stunningly beautiful.
First here was amazing!! The food is fresh & delicious! You really get the best portions for your buck here! I strongly recommend the Mt. meals, pancakes & hot chocolate! They were soo delicious!!! You really can't go wrong with any of their plates! I truly hope this place is still there when I visit NH next!
The food was great! The service of the hostess is great as well. The waitresses don’t seem to be able to do more than one thing at a time however. They are very slow. But overall it was a great place to eat.
