It's evident that this is a popular lunch spot for the locals. Justifiably so!
It's a small country town bar with knotty pine: cathedral ceiling, paneling and foot square light tile floors all of which, I'm sure are original features. It's got a real homey feel.
It took a beat or two to get a handle on Dustin's (our server) dry sense of humor, but once done, we really enjoyed the guy.
SWMBO had their Pot Roast Lunch Special. The Meat was lean and there was lots of it. It came with Mashers, Bread and Green Beans. She was very pleased with it. And get this......it was $6! I had a 1/3 lb. Cheeseburger with extra crispy Shoestring Fries. ($5.50) This Burger was on a par with Stone Front Tavern's legendary offering. In fact, I'd say it might have been a little better.
Good hearty fare and solid value works for me!
