The first time I went to this restaurant I was in college and I continued to eat there when I worked at the VA . Yesterday was my first time back in over 40 years. Quaint little restaurant with a friendly staff and the most amazing burgers in the world !

I'm from the UK and they are the most loveliest people I have ever met. The food is lovely and so is the massive beers but most of all the people that drink there are lovely. Kindness and hospitality costs nothing and have both. Rob and Lynn will be back xx

Best burgers! Good service and fast.  They offer drive through pick up which is really convenient. Affordable and you get a lot of food for your money.

I ate here today burger was delicious and cooked perfectly. The fries were huge steak fries probably the best I ever had, nice and crispy. Waitress was very polite and encouraged me to read about the restaurant's history. Reasonably priced with excellent beer specials. Great place for a beer and a burger.

Down to earth, humble, classic diner/bar/restaurant. Grabbed lunch with my wife and kid today. Was skeptical at first but we were so hungry we just decided to give it a shot. We weren't disappointed. Walked in and it reminded me of my childhood eating at cheap wholesome places with my family. The food was great, just what we were after. Good portions, great taste, very filling. Fried chicken was some of the best i have had and fries were thick cut and golden, sheer perfection to me. Will visit again when in the area.

Love it. Cant wait for the reopening. The new owner has been working so very hard with the cottage crew to get it all shiny like new for being the oldest burger joint in Johnson city. Tn. I do believe folks are going to be impressed also appreciate and just love everything Jo n her cottage crew have done for this old girl. (Not me) lol ps yes the food will be better than ever. Same menu with a special here n there as well. Thank you. Cant wait to see them faces n hug them necks again. T

Maybe the best burger in town! The fries and onion rings are the best, also. The atmosphere could use some sprucing up but the food is great. The fried chicken is really good, also. It's like a neighborhood pub.

This should be on the nations list of historic sites. I have fond memories of frequenting the juke box booth “up stairs” and ordering chicken tenders when I was getting out of class from science hill. Friendly people and staff. I was patron back in 2000/2001. Happy to know it’s still going.

We had a glorious dinner there last night (4/26). The french fries and onion rings were fabulous. The sandwiches were great; the chicken tenders were great! ... and the staff is always wonderful, friendly, and professional. Long live The Cottage!!!

The food is amazing. The place is family owned. Past down from the father to their children who are now going on 50 years in business. If your looking for a juicy burger get the best in town and coldest beer. Located near ETSU College. On West market. They have karaoke every Friday night starting around 7 p.m. so get your dancing shoes on and your singles come in and have a wonderful time

My burger was cooked perfect. It's a friendly atmosphere and the servers seemed to have been there for a while. It was Karaoke night on Friday night. Food is afforadable and it's nonsmoking inside
