So the restaurant is in the back of the brewery, a comfortable terrace, there is a host seating guests and they are very polite. The waitress was also fantastic and the food came very quickly. The waitress also made some recommendations for the beers and they were both great. The variety of the menu is very good for the beers. The food was a bit underwhelming, which can be understandable considering this is mainly a beer shack. The pizza was bland although the ingredients were plentiful, the pizza rolls were just pepperoni wrapped in a roll, nothing amazing, and the pulled chicken sandwich was mediocre. The chips served with it where crunchy, a bit too much I would say, but there are options for sides like mac and cheese and more. Prices are a bit high, but it's a local brewery in Hawaii, don't expect discounts. The music was good, and the ambience was making the whole place relaxed and laid back. There's a large parking lot right in front.
I went reluctantly since I really wanted some local food. But : the location has outdoor seating, the beer is interesting and everyone found something they liked. The food was good and I strongly recommend the pork belly sandwich, the nacho chips were different then on mainland US, crispier, the pizza was tasty and we chose a garlic one/ you could really taste it. Kinda American food with a twist.
Been here 30 times.
While I always try to order something else I end up regretting it. Get the slice and the salad. This is the best thing on the menu. Simple, inexpensive and good.
The beer here is a lot of stuff you see at the stores. I always ask for seasonal options as they are ever changing and can be really great.
Service
While service is always pretty good what prompted me to leave the review today was Dan. Dan is really awesome at his job. He’s quick, attentive, polite. Everything a server should be. Thanks Dan.
Atmosphere
Good for young kids as they can play on the astroturf (small area). The outdoor seating is nice as there are many plants and shade. It can get a bit warm but that’s just Kona.
Great stop while in Kona.
We each had a beer. I tried a slice of pizza.
They were busy and the bartender did a great job of taking care of our needs.
Lots of seating.
Fantastic beer choices.
Pineapple flavor was a favorite 😍
Grabbed some snacks and drinks here and it was a great dining experience. I am not a beer drinker but they offered many non - beer drinks and of course a large beer section which my husband loved. Many vegetarian options for apps and entrees, limited vegan but many options could be customized. We only had to wait 20 mins for a seating outside, inside is first come first serve
Some of the best beer I’ve ever had! Their food is spot on as well. I got the Black sand porter, Castaway IPA, Lemongrass luau, and the Fire rock pale ale. I also got the pork tacos and a the brownie w/ice cream for dessert. Definitely recommend visiting!
Good food great beer. It was a hot day so the fans were nice to have, otherwise there is indoor seating available. Service was a tad slow but they were slammed for the lunch rush so it was understandable. Recommend the pretzel and the BBQ chicken sandwich. The mac salad might just be the best I've ever had, I wish I could have gotten a growler of that!
This was on my wish list in Kona. I didn't do a tour of their Brewery, but the seven of us enjoyed 3 different pizzas which we all enjoyed. I also bought a T-shirt. I highly recommend you check this happening place out.
Love. Love. Love this place. Tour was fun, albeit somewhat short. Brewery was new and beautiful. Lunch at the restaurant was very good. Margherita pizza is legit! Beers were fantastic. Big Wave for the win, but try a Porter (if it is your thing). Porter was good too.
This brewpub is popular with both locals and tourists.
The food menu is geared toward standard pub grub. Their pizzas are a hit with most guests.
One of the charming things here is to try beers from Backyard Batches - limited editions experimental brews.
