An excellent place to have a beer or 5. There is plenty of room, the view is ok, the electrical lines make it difficult to enjoy the ocean view. The service is good, attentive and professional. The beer could be colder, but it is still enjoyable. I tried the Poke and it was delicious. I highly recommend this place. Also, I was able to find parking relatively easy. AND IF YOU LOIKE CHESS, this gentleman may be waiting for you to play with. Mahalo
Very nice experience for late night pious with friends, very nice vibes live music. Food is delicious same as cocktails. There’s not that many places around Kona that’s opens until late night. They have a big parking area in the back, there is also security by the doors.

Great overall experience at Laverne's sports bar yesterday afternoon we ordered the nachos (with pork) and shared the dish among for people. It's a good amount of food and well prepared. We also got the fried pickles which were damn good too. Great ambience, beautiful view of the ocean and great centralized location.
Considering other places around were an hour wait, this place got us seated right away and although there was only 1 server i saw, didnt wait too long for anything. Personally ordered the Kalua Pork Plate which was delicious and filling. Drinks were cold, refreshing, and good. It was Monday evening and they had open mic for stand up comedy. Sad that i didnt know about it in advance to have time to prepare a bit. Fun extra for guests
Very friendly service & nice views... Some cute tiki decor... Definitely a dive bar but the food was very good, much better than expected :)
Our server and the rest of the staff were very pleasant. Not any fault of theirs, but the service was a little slow because the restaurant seemed understaffed. The food was really good. The beer selection was reasonable. The location is fantastic. Not much more to say really other than a nice pleasant experience.

Laverne's was fantastic. The food was delicious. The service was great. The views...Wow. Having dinner oceanside and eating great food - what more could you ask?
Fun bar, very casual almost college bar feel. Lots of quirky decorations. Live music was fun in the evenings. Amazing views as you would expect! Bartenders were pleasant and made great drinks. Not much more you can ask for from a oceanside bar!
Chicago vibes, Hawaiian feels. Great place for a drink and a bite. Would recommend the pork wings (it sounds weird but its heaven) and Ahi Tuna over all else.
Very comfortable oceanside bar- good drinks and nice waitresses. Awesome stop on our trip.
Nice spot along the main strip, service was quick and unlike other places we were actually able to get a table for dinner without waiting 30-45 minutes! Some of their menu items (pizza & subs) are only available from 11am to 3pm, and after 10pm on weekends. Seemed a little odd to me, but hey, maybe I have to go back during one of those times!
