It is a family-run restaurant. It was a bit difficult as the lady who was serving us did not speak English. Mostly it was just showing her the menu and sign language. She was polite and friendly We wanted to try some Japanese food. We ordered tempura, teriyaki eel. We truly enjoyed the food. Could h
Amazing tempura fries so delicious! We wished we had ordered more! Staff was really friendly. It really seemed like most of the people in there were locals. It’s behind the strip where most of the shops are and it doesn’t have a big sign outside. We almost passed by it. Good amount of food for the
Went in & had lunch. Place was quiet_cozy_clean n spacious. The server was super friendly. We got to sit ourselves, we picked a booth seating. The menu was simple and clear. Ice tea and Stella Artois was choice of drink. Ordered, pork chop shrimp tempura tray. Yumm E. Miso soup and all the fix
An absolutely wonderful restaurant for dinner! The sashimi practically melts in your mouth and I would highly recommend the Shiso Clams - better order extra bread to soak up the delicious soup!!!
Incredible service! We didn’t know what to order, our waitress suggested the clams and the surf and turf. She was so right! 10,000 stars for this amazing place!!
I have had 4 meals at Fumi's. The cooking is actually good. I am not a fan of Japanese food because they use sugar and soy way too often to suit my taste buds. I like the clams which is steamed in butter (no sugar :). I also love the butter fish when it is available.I especially like the appetizer
Last minute dinner 🍽️ the in laws enjoyed there soups but we order a burger can't say it was good. But still thanks for letting us in 14 min before closing.
Really delicious siamin at great prices. If you want a place that has a local clientele, visitor friendliness with a good beer selection you will love this place.
Delicious! We ordered the sukiyaki, the Korean soup and the pork chop. The pork chop is especially good. It’s tender and flavorful.
So we thought it was a sushi restaurant, and they do have sashimi, but it's mostly other Japanese foods. I got a thick noodle stew with tofu and chicken and my SO got the unagi. We also ordered a large house sake and another noodle dish that originates in Hawaii, saimin? I forget the name. But all o
Fumi's is the go to restaurant for authentic Japanese food in Kona. Have been coming here for years. Ron and his staff are awesome and give great customer service. Restaurant has an old school, home made cooking feel atmosphere. I recommend Fumi's to anyone looking for great Japanese food.
Local eats is a must. Great tasting saimin!
Great japanese food and very friendly staff. Tasty and not to expensive.
We ate at Fumi’s three times in the last month and each time we had a great experience. The food is consistently really good. Some of our favorites: The Prime Rib literally melted in my mouth. The baked mussels were excellent, having a cheesy sauce I never had before. Kuai shrimp were fresh and
