Stopped in for happy hour today.
$4 bottle beers!
My wife had chicken taquitos and I had mexican fries.
Large portions and the food was delicious.
Sat in a booth that was very comfortable.
There's also plenty of parking.
We'll be back!
Recently stopped here for dinner with 3 other people and we all ordered different things. We stayed on the big island for a few days - travelling from Australia.
Everyone loved what they ordered and I’m so glad we went here. Food was very tasty, authentic Mexican flavours and reasonable prices.
I've had Mexican food in Mexico, Baja, Southern California (where i'm from) and many other locales. There are a number of options in Kona but Patricios is possible the best mexican restaurant in Kona. While their food is good it's not at the pinnacle of Mexican cuisine. I have probably eaten here 20+ times over the years.
I really like how they have interesting real mexican cuisine options like pozole (soup), mole, and sopas. This is rad for a fast casual restaurant. Their drink options are great with a regular stock of horchata and plenty of canned alcoholic options as well as frozen margaritas.
Favorites:
Chimichanga
Chile Relleno Burrito
Horchata
The speed of service is good and the dining space is fine. This is a good Kona vegetarian restaurant option as they can do many of their burritos and other things with beans and veggies instead of the meat option.
Catered for our Restaurants Christmas Party and did not disappoint! Check these guys out! Friendly staff and Taco Bar is great!
Carnitas we’re legit! Authentic. Sometimes I worry that In Hawaii the pork will just be like shredded pork. But these carnitas had the authentic texture and flavor. I’ll be coming back for sure to try other items. Haven’t found anywhere else in the big island as good. Mahalo!
We got the al pastor burrito and the carne asada fries. It was pretty good, but not super great. We were visiting from AZ so our standards for Mexican food were probably pretty high. But for the price, it was a good quantity of food!
Made a pit stop here before flying home back to SoCal.. and let me say this.. surprisingly better than expected. This is as good as it can get to authentic tasting Mexican food. If we ever get the chance to come back to the big island, we will visit here again.
I love Patricio's Taqueria — authentic food of good quality; and, the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm back in Mexico with the swanky music played inside. You can also get fantastic Mexican beer like Modelos of all flavors (ice cold from the bottle)! Order for pickup and ready in 10-15 minutes! Patricio's is conveniently located on the Queen K Hwy and easy to get to driving from the north or south... check it out! Always good!
Legit and homemade style Mexican food. I felt like the rice, beans and pozole came from my mom's kitchen. Will be back when we visit the island.
Excellent Authentic Mexican food at a really reasonable price. It was delicious! Chille Rellenos and Carne Asada Enchilada were Delicious. They had a salsa bar and even served beer wine and Margaritas
Went here the other day for lunch.
Nice place with plenty of clean places to sit. Easy parking. And big menu.
I was having a taco craving but when I looked at the menu I was a bit overwhelmed, the selection is huge!
Some items seemed quite expensive, like $15-$20. And I thought the tacos were a bit on the high side too. So I ordered a Carnitas Plate for $10. And what I got was totally worth it. The meat was moist and fatty just like it should be! The portion was perfect. The onions and cilantro delicious. The beans and rice were average.

Mahalo!
Great food and service. Prices are fair. Speedy as well. Though they have a large mural on one of the walls that depicts a town scene, and it is odd, because all of the flags in the mural are Italian flags.
Their food is so good!!! My favorites were the crunchy ground beef tacos and their apple empanadas 🤤

Notice to vegetarians: The rice is made with chicken stock even though it’s marked as vegetarian!
This is a very common issue to be aware of at taquerias.
The cashier was very helpful in getting this answered for me, but the owners should really update their menu to clarify that the rice is not vegetarian.
I didn’t ask about the refried beans and just ordered black beans instead (which are usually vegetarian).
$19 for 24oz beer, 2 tacos and beens + rice! What a deal and the al pastor with pineapple was *french kiss*
