I had the poke nachos they were so good! If your not a fan of salt and plan on ordering it as your meal it might be a little much for you. But I loved it! Also had the lava flow drink very good :) not sure why people are saying you can only order alcohol from the bar. I looked at the drink menu online and ordered right from my table. Our waiter was very polite and we ordered our desserts to go because we were full. Creme brulee cheese cake was yummy.

The atmosphere is loud and lively and the food and drinks are excellent! I started with a frozen coconut mojito and tried their crack chickens wings; both were seriously delicious. For dinner I had the surf n turf. The steak was cooked well the lobster was perfect. We left no room for dessert however they looked and sounded amazing. I will definitely plan on returning!

Love Nico's Pier 38 so we knew Nico is tireless in his early morning choice of fresh fish & seafood & oversight of two eateries. Nico's Kailua was a hit for us. Our server Ali (Allison) was a 10 in friendliness & knowledgeable & warm smile. The calamari appetizer was fresh & to die for with my pint of Bass & my wife's full pour of Albariño with. The $19 Catch was Mahi mahi with mashed Uber with curry overtones...I could go on..nice touch, Nice touch leaving the pink tile the loo! We live off Lilipuna..so we will return at our next chance. BRAVO !

Just had dinner at Nico's Kailua. It was fantastic! We had the ahi belly bites for the appetizer. The salsa on top was fresh and the "bites" were huge and delicious. My husband had the braised short ribs and I had the steak and fries. Both were wonderful. He loved the vegetables were roasted carrots, broccoli and cauliflower and the meat was so tender. The steak was flavorful and tender as well. Allie was our server. She was attentive and upbeat. We will be back and hope to sit on her section again. I definitely recommend going to Nico's in Kailua!

We enjoy the fresh tasty food and excellent service. Our server was Dax and it's nice that he remembered us from a few weeks ago.

The food is great, but the service is outstanding. The hostess and waitresses are very friendly and helpful. It’s a pleasure every time I go there to eat and socialize.

Let me tell you about Nico's in Kailua aight? I woke up in the morning and immediately got swooped into hiking Maunawili Falls. I told myself I was going to jump off a bl00dy waterfall, and when I got there, I mean WOAH, that chick was tall. I'm up there standing on the edge and people just count down--like them saying numbers from 5 to 0 is going to make me jump.... I justified that I would jump from the second highest spot, only to find out on my way down it WAS the highest spot. Anyways. I'm filled with adrenaline at this point. So I do it a few more times. We make it back to the car completely soaked. Now what does this have to do with Nico's? Man I was starving. I ain't eat all day, and all I could think while I was doing these leaps of faith was getting me a D-A-M good meal before I die. I said Yo where can we crush some plates of food? And everyone said Niko's. I'm like Niko's Pier 38 or Kailua? KAILUA, okayokay. We show up. They got these nice a$$ gummy bears that taste like blue hawaii, I don't even know what that tastes like but I'm told AMAZING. I ask where I can get a blue hawaii drink so I can learn that, but that's another thing. We are seated. I'm hooping over this menu like NOWAY, everything looks killa. I eventually decide we will get two pupus. Fresh angry ahi dip with fresh wanton chips & and a grilled fish collarbone [h.e.ll.a blessings]. They get devoured. Need I say more? Yes. I ordered the pprk belly [Obviously that flavor yo] and then my lovely server drops that she has specials to tell me about. At this point I already know I'm doing some wildness. I say YES-I'll have that special-in addition to the belly entree. It's lit. I get a Mai Tai, it tastes like heaven [Do you know what that's worth?] and my night is made. Oh wait I get the mango passion cheese cake to go because I got BIG PLANS for when I get home. Those plans pan out. I'm stoked. I'll be back. Unfortunately not for St. Patrick's day... but I'll be back.

Exceptional dining experience! The Angry Ahi dip with won ton chips is a must-try, surpassing expectations and impressing with its deliciousness. The calamari and crab cake salad were also delightful, while the red wine short ribs sealed the deal. We're definitely returning for more, and the live music with hula entertainment added a perfect touch to our memorable evening.

Came here for lunch with my family after a long hike and a swim at the beach. I was looking for a big fresh meal at a place with a good atmosphere and I found that at Nicos! Got the combo plate (pig and katsu) SOOO good! The quality was great for the price and the small details were well done, like even the ketchup was good! Loved sitting outside at a picnic bench too. Very satisfied! Thanks!

Good food and drinks (happy hour every night 4-6) and great live music from 6-9 (weekends for sure). Very reasonable prices even by mainland standards. Good selection of beers on tap including local brews. The fish bites appetizer is a family favorite!

It takes a while to be seated when the live band is present because parties there for the band stay for a while longer. As a result, it takes longer for seats to open up. Other than that, the food came out quickly and was great.

I ordered the calamari and truffle French fries appetizers along with a house salad. It looked so good I dug in and ate half of it before I realized I forgot to take a picture, The mango-passion cheesecake was delightful. I have been here several times before and the food has always hit the spot. Bryson was very friendly and courteous. Keep making these wonderful culinary delights.

Loved this place. Came here on a whim since we were in the area with our kiddos. The food was delicious. The staff was friendly. I got the ahi tuna sandwich and it did not disappoint. Hubby got shrimp that was scrumptious. My daughter said her burger was the best she's ever had (that's saying a lot for a picky 7 year old). Also loved the location on the canal. It was peaceful. Some may be surprised because they serve their food takeout style (no dishes, literally in takeout boxes), but I thought it was clever and made it easy for leftovers (although we didn't have any because it was THAT good).

Delicious seafood and a busy restaurant that is able to accommodate families with young kids as well as larger groups. It's noisy on the bar side as they have live music but the dining side is very pleasant as the music is played over the speakers. Food was very good and our server was attentive. The "nachos" were delicious with the perfect balance of sweet and savory.

2023: seafood restaurant in Oahu, HI. The catch of the day was ahi. We had the ahi poke appetizer, the seared ahi and a fancy mixed drink. The seared fish was amazing. But the poke was over drenched in its marinade and sat in a bowl filled with sauce. It would’ve been better if they had taken it out and put it on top of something like rice, coleslaw, salad, whatever. Friendly staff and nice interior.
