Went here for the first time today based on a rave review from a friend. I had the soup of the day and the omelette and both were excellent. We got personalized service from McKenzie and the food quality was very good based on the price! It was a great value. Happy 7th Birthday Rye Plaza! We’ll be back! They even had Sunday night Live Jazz Music for the Holidays!
Super cute place for bringing family or an awesome brunch date, the cinnamon rolls are the main event! The space is very relaxing and well thought out, the only thing they are lacking is gluten free options so i just ordered salmon off the entrée menu, fish for breakfast is still pretty good! Also the friend chicken looked amazing
I’ve tried Rye a few times in both of their locations and each experience has been absolutely amazing. They are well know for their fried chicken. It’s a must have. The fried chicken is very flavorful and possibly one of the best I’ve ever had. I also like the steak. I get my steak well done and very few places make a juicy well done steak. This place gets it right each time.
I also love the fact that they are using local farmers. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is great.
Absolutely the best food! Chicken was fabulous. Top
Notch service from Arika!! Will highly recommend this place to eat to all!
I’ve used Rye Plaza to host a couple of work related continuing education course. #1.) They are very patient with my tendency to have too much on my plate to respond promptly. Jordan patiently waits and lets me know when I’m getting down to the wire. That is much appreciated. #2.) The food quality does not suffer with larger groups. My last meal was the salmon with wild rice. The salmon was cooked perfectly, (overcooked salmon is the worst and common) the wild rice was well seasoned and delicious. I would have liked some asparagus or green beans in addition but I “borrowed” some from my neighbor’s plate. #3.) The service was tops. Adrian is attentive, quick and really knows how to sort of float through and take care of things without getting in the way. She is the person to request for your event. #4.) Somehow, Rye manages to provide a really warm, comfortable environment for what could be a very cold, sterile feeling event.
I only wish I could host all my events at Rye.
If you have the opportunity to meet Billie (sorry if I misspelled it), you definitely should. He is the shining star of this establishment & made our experience so enjoyable. Our waitress was very attentive as well. We started with a GINORMOUS cinnamon roll (my picture does not do it justice). Dessert first, right? I then ordered the Shrimp & Grits. Best I've ever had!! Mom ordered the Two Piece Fried Chicken & I snuck her drumstick. The outer crispness paired with the inner juicyness was over the top delicious. I will definitely be returning.
We had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding here and booked the combined room (seats about 80) - while it may be pricey (we are in the plaza after all) it was worth every penny. I'm still hearing from people about how great the experience was - Jordan who helped us plan was an absolute rockstar, and all of the staff there who served was were so friendly and attentive and welcoming. The room itself was beautiful, the location is great (parking is always a struggle in kc but the plaza isn't too bad) and the FOOD!! I had multiple people tell me it was the best steak they had ever had, and the salmon was incredible. All in all, the rehearsal dinner was a dream, and we couldn't be happier :) Not to mention all our guests making plans to visit Rye to have that steak again. Thank you Rye!
Love the food and service in this restaurant! The service did not lapse in keeping dishes coming to the table, and kept drinks fresh. Food from the kitchen and bakery was well made and delicious.
I would give 5 stars for atmosphere, but I dislike it when I have to use my phone flashlight to fully read the menu due to dim lighting. It also makes it difficult for my elderly parents.
Highly recommended if you are in the area looking for good food and drinks!
Great atmosphere! Our waiter who brought out our cheese appetizer was very detailed describing what we ordered & it was wonderful. The food was good & my cigar beverage was tasty.
Rye was really great. There were several flavors that just went together! The beet salad was great as well as the shrimp and grits! The pork chop was a hit and the lemon meringue pie really finished off the night! We will be back! The atmosphere was a welcoming classy feel with great food to follow.
Had an amazing brunch with my friends and mom to celebrate before shopping for my wedding dress. The service was too notch and the food and atmosphere was the cherry on top.
Service was great! The food was good, only thing is that there was too much bread used when making the French toast. It took away from the "French toast" taste. While this spot is a little pricey it's definitely worth a visit. I'll return one day!
Awesome local restaurant with a wonderful, down to earth staff. Paul the GM and Erica who was our bartender were extremely accommodating as this was our first visit to Kansas City. Chatted with us about their establishment and other local places to visit and must go eateries! We were there for happy hour and had a blast! Highly recommend. Great cocktails and beer selection. Ordered the deviled eggs and bbq pork rinds which were delicious. Definitely want to go back for brunch! Just go!!
We really like the breakfast dishes from this place. My son ordered salmon and I ordered one single buttermilk pancake. Both were delicious. I love the decor and location of this place. Our server was really nice and courteous. Highly recommended if you are in the area. This place is located next to PFChang. I was lucky enough to park my car on the street but I heard from my friends there is another public parking right around the corner. Next time we are in the area, we will definitely come back for more breakfast.
Thrilled with our decision to get Easter brunch at Rye. The burnt end hash was loaded with flavor and cooked to perfection. The cinnamon rolls should be famous if they aren’t: perfectly baked dough — neither gooey (in the bad sense) nor dry — flavorful icing, and just the right amount of cinnamon. And, if you can’t tell from the pics, they’re massive! Even the drip coffee delighted: the special Roasterie blend was delicious. If we hadn’t gotten ourselves so full, we’d have stayed to enjoy one of their outstanding cocktails or a pour from among their fine selection of whiskeys. // UPDATE: I neglected to mention an equally important part of the experience: the servers. All the staff were prompt, attentive, well-groomed (you’d think that’d be a given, but unfortunately these days it’s not) and courteous.
Don't let the outside appearance of this restaurant fool you. It looked simple and chic on the outside but as soon as I went in, I fell in love with the interior design 🥰 the inside was very beautiful, and the richness of the greens of the plants inside made me feel fresh and organic.
The menu was not overwhelming, very simple. Food presentation was great as well. Water was served to me and my companions promptly.
Food tasted great!
Bathroom's interior design matched the restaurant's and it was very clean. Definitely recommend this place.
Always delicious and always a wonderful dining experience. Rye is the best of service paired with excellent food. The shrimp and grits and the fried chicken are constant delicious staples that always stay on the menu, however the rotating seasonal items never disappoint. The pies are to die for. One of my favorite restaurants in Kansas City.
