P F Chang's is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always exceptional. Their service is great. They use fresh US grown food every day. I will gladly go back any time I am close to a P F Chang's. Highly recommend P F Chang's. I've read so many negative reviews but notice that many of them are a year old. This past Wednesday night when we were there, they were packed and people waiting. I felt that the waiters/waitresses we're top notch. Our food came in a timely manner and our waitress was very busy but also very attentive. Don't let the negative reactions influence you too much. After all you are not going for fast food. If you are then you are then you should go for drive through. PF Chang's food is great.
The chicken wraps appetizer is a signature dish for a reason! I could easily sit and eat an entire order myself as an entree. I ordered a shrimp and lobster fried rice dish with poblano peppers that was amazing. It was marked as hot, but it was what I'd consider "medium" in heat at the most. It was sweet and savory at the same time, and the rice was moist even though there was no sauce.
Not enough people post their positive reviews. I have eaten at P.F. Changs in multiple cities and have always had excellent food and service. Last night was very enjoyable in Kansas City. It was also prom night for a lot of schools and they were still able to get us in fast and the service and conversation with our server Maddi were as good and enjoyable as you could ask for anywhere. Go UMKC from a friendly group of Huskers!
The waiter we had I would have him again. Unfortunately I did not get his name. He was so helpful and had suggestions. Been to PF's many times but yesterday the waiter was the best....
The food was amazing, we will be eating there every time we are in town, the service was great other than our waiter forgot our egg rolls.

I had great service and fabulous food!!! I have never been disappointed in this place. Customer for life!
Would recommend this place to everyone food was awesome
Everything was great and I was very happy with my Mongolian beef. The spring rolls were very good and the rest of our order was delicious as well.
The last time I went to P.F Chang’s was in Korea and I think this one in KC is better.
They have a good selection of Japanese beer.
I read the reviews and I can also see excellent reviews and bad reviews. I am not sure why there is this contrast between very satisfied customers and very unhappy customers. It’s pretty uncommon to see that and it make me think that one of the chef is probably less skilled than others.
This restaurant is one of the very rare one to update contents and post on Google maps and I think that a very good point. I didn’t know when I went, I would check their new meals before I order. The pictures are great.
I went the 29th September for dinner and this team was very good from service to kitchen. (If you are the manager and you read that, please keep that in mind!)
The food and drinks were great! It didn’t take too long to get seated, just waited for a table to be cleaned up. Our server was super sweet and answered questions regarding drink recommendations. I was very impressed with the lettuce wraps.
I like the food here. The coconut cooler is a must try. Fried rice with spice is really good with king pao chicken. The lettuce wraps and the shrimp appetizer is a try
Wonderful, welcoming and knowledgeable servers! For me, that's the most important thing. Very affordable prices, most dishes are below 20 dollars. Food came out very quickly and was good. The only thing I didn't like is that rice didn't come on the side and because of that it soaked all the soy sauce and it was just too much for me.
We loved it and will definitely go again. We got a variety of dishes so we were able to taste different things. I got the ginger chicken with broccoli and some chicken fried rice. I also tried the crispy honey shrimp. It all was hot, fresh and had just the right amount of seasonings. I also got the fire and ice dessert which was SOOO GOOD! Loved the ambiance of this place. Highly recommend!
Fire braised short ribs over pineapple fried rice. Just a delightful dish all around! Great service and a nice time to visit.
It was a very nice dinner, everything we had tasted so good.
Food and service was amazing! The environment of the restaurant was so welcoming. Danielle was an amazing waitress and did the absolute best job possible to make us happy. We came from California and she made our experience worth it!
I work on The Plaza and have PF Chang's delivered every few weeks. Their lunch tempura bowl is outstanding! Decided to eat dinner there after work. They have a wonderful staff, and a great menu with Chinese favorites as well as some specialty items. Best lettuce wraps I've had anywhere, and plenty of options to help you make your meal healthy. Calories are provided on the menu, and low cal and spicy meals are highlighted. Get there before 6:00 on weekdays for apps and drinks at a great price, then stay for the entrees. Cozy feel with clean lines and great views. Dim enough for date night, but not so dark that it feels too intimate for family or friends. You are fine in jeans and a hoodie, or in heels and your best dress. Bathrooms were spotless. They also have a friends program that sends out some fantastic deals to help you take advantage of those Plaza prices.
My husband loves this place, they are in my list of top 5 restaurants I like to eat at in Missouri. They're the same as they are in Maryland. The lettuce wraps are delicious. This particular PF Chang's I've been to now twice. The first time we had wonderful service, the second we were seated and ignored for 20mins. Our server never came to even ask us if we wanted water. The manager was quick to make up for it though and gave us a free appetizer. We ordered the Crab Rangoons (they're made fresh at the restaurant), Chicken Lettuce Wraps (amazing), I got a Strawberry Limeade (so refreshing) and for my entree Sweet and Sour Chicken (it was okay). I highly recommend the Fried Banana Pineapple Ice Cream dessert! It was delicious! :)
Soft lighting, beautiful decor, great food with above average service and all with great views of The Plaza made for a great dinner out. The ribs were crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside and my salmon was the perfect combination of char and tender flaky fish with a nice light sauce on a bed of mushrooms and veggies. My wife had some California Rolls as good as any she has ever had and the Orange Chicken which was sweet, tart with just the right amount of spice.
Update: We were invited back to give PF Chang’s and I have to say it would have to be next to perfect to change my mind from the last experience.
Close to perfect it was! A complete 180 on service and savory food. Time will tell if this will be consistent or not. I look forward to trying PR Changs again.
I truly dislike leaving bad reviews because I know people are more likely to speak up after a bad experience as opposed to a great one... but I can’t let PF Chang’s slide for this experience.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like the staff was rude or we found bugs in our food.... nothing like that.
What made this a bad experience was the food, the service, and the overall value of this restaurant.
I read a recent review that said they would have much rather spent $10 at the local Chinese joint and it would have been equal to PF Chang’s, I agree!!
It’s a great looking restaurant and yes it’s on the plaza so you get all the views and atmosphere you are looking for. For a restaurant in such a prime location, the service and food are far from what you
expect. They should relocate to some janky location to match the level of food they serve. Okay, maybe that’s taking it to far, but here are my issues.
My wife ordered the Mongolian beef. It was heavily over salted. She doesn’t like much salt as it is, but I tasted it to make sure it wasn’t that... it was cooked right and the flavor besides the salt was good... but how can you mess up the salt. Rookie mistake.
I had the Chang’s spicy chicken, which quite honestly tasted like it came from the freezer and it had no spice whatsoever. Enough said.
Dumplings were the best part of the meal, but even then they were soggy and broke apart easily. They probably tasted good just compared to our less than pleasing meals.
Lastly, the service was just bad. We sat in the bar area and barely got any service at all. I ordered a drink besides water and I never got it. It was obvious the bartender forgot about it.
When you combine all that and match it up to your expectations of a $60+ meal (2 meals 1 drink and app), it falls extremely short.
Thank you for tonight’s dinning experience!!!
The service at PF Changs tonight was incredible. Everything was on point.
Our waiter Matt was top notch not to mention the general manager Andrew and staff being so friendly and personable.
Top notch Service like we had tonight is hard to find these days what a great night.
Our visitors from out of town love dining on the Plaza. P.F. Chang’s is a can’t miss. It’s Chinese comfort food with something for meat lovers and vegan’s. Our server was wonderful.
