We had a birthday party here. Great service and food. I wish it had the hibachi show and then it would have been perfect. We loved all the food!! Our server was awesome.

My best friend took me here for my birthday dinner and we loved it! Neither of us had been here before, but we both love sushi. Here is what we ordered:
{Appetizer} Edamame - standard edamame, nothing out of the ordinary
{Appetizer} Crab Wontons - plenty of filling & yummy dipping sauce
{Sushi} Spicy Shrimp Roll & Blue Crab Roll - both delicious but my favorite was the blue crab roll because they use real crab
{Entree} Shrimp Pad Thai - I've been searching for a really great Pad
Thai dish up North and this one is definitely in the running! It's not very spicy though, so if you like a kick I would ask for extra spice.
Everything was delicious! We both agreed we can't wait to go back with our significant others!

Wonderful food!! Saki offers sushi, Thai, Chinese and hibachi meals. This worked out great for our family, since everyone wanted something different. I ordered 2 their specialty rolls, 1 would've been plenty. Service was spot on!

One of the better asian resturants in the Northland. Food comes out fast, maybe too fast some days, but is always hot and full of flavor.
Vincent
Absolutely phenomenal restaurant. Have never been disappointed with anything I've ordered. Great food, excellent cocktails, and from what I've heard, pretty good sushi selection.

Absolutely wonderful. The sushi is amazing. If I lived closer I would be there for dinner often. 😊

Our first time here and it is absolutely delicious! My husband did the shrimp hibachi and I did the orange peel chicken oh my God it is so good!
The eggrolls are small and very flavorful. I would much rather have small eggrolls with flavor and great big huge ones only filled full of cabbage.
We did not like the sweet and sour sauce but the orange pill chicken sauce was absolutely fabulous!

I had an amazing Birthday Lunch.
Sushi Boat with some red wine.

Very good!. Ordered Hibachi steak with fried rice. Steak portion was generous and well cooked. and the fried rice was excellent. (light and not greasy) Onion soup was also tasty. Not cheap, but not too expensive.

Fantastic food. I've been to this restaurant several times for sushi and have never had a bad experience. The staff has always been pleasant and the food is consistently well prepared. Definitely a go to place for sushi in KCMO.

Saki Asian Restaurant is my new favorite place to go for sushi in Kansas City! I would give the service and food hands down a 5 star!!! Best part is every sushi plate comes out as an art peice. If you haven't tried this place I would recommend putting it on your restaurant bucket list!

I thought it was strange that I went there around 5 I had to ask for the happy hour menu. The server seemed confused at first, like there wasn't a happy hour. I saw on yelp there was so she had to bring it to me. The Las Vegas roll was great and the pan fried dumplings were good. Service was ok. There were maybe 5 people there when the 2 of us walked in and food came out slower than I thought it should take. I'd come back though for the food.

Went there for the very first time and our server was excellent, she helped pick out some sushi for this sushi newbie! I had the spider roll & my girlfriend had the Las Vegas roll! Both were excellent choices! Will certainly be coming back! And the presentation of the food was cool it came on a bridge tray that was neat! I do not remember our server's name it started with a K though.

We love it at Saki!! The egg drop soup is full of chicken and shrimp, never oily... the appetizer platter is a perfect combo of yum!! And so far we've had the Blue Crab roll and the New Orleans roll, and both were AMAZING!!!! We will be back, and plan on getting more adverterous with the sushi (except the raw stuff lol!)!!!

In all probability I won't be going back . The sushi selection was decent, taste was mediocre at best. I was charged for a drink I didn't have and overcharged for one of the plates ordered.

They are amazing....the food is phenomenal and I'm from San Diego where sushi is really good so i have high standards and they blew my mind as well as my mom's who flew in from San Diego for her bday which they sang and made her do the chicken dance....best memories ever love love love

Restaurant is very clean and the service and food is best in the area. This would definitely be the place for a nice night out or for a celebration. Also great drink selections!

One of my favorite places. Always good service. The food is great, best crab wantons/rangoon EVER. my sushi was great but hubby was so/so on the fried rice.
Steve Nitzel
Zhen and Narihaya are the best. We feel like family. My favorite is always the yum yum salad with eel sauce. The soups are out of this world. Shrimp in the hot and sour. Nice.
The sushi is fresh and the chef is creative.

Great food service out of the world. The whole family loves this place

I found this place about a month after it opened and I haven't eaten sushi anywhere else in KC since. Awesome food and awesome people!

I think it's the best sushi in the Northland hands down. So good! And the employees are excellent too! Our favorite!!!

I absolutely loved it here. Great food and great service. I celebrated my 26th birthday here and it was amazing. Definitely my new favorite place in town!!

The selection at this restaurant is very kid, sushi lover, vegetarian, and gluten free friendly! It would be nearly impossible not to please everyone. The atmosphere is very appealing and restaurant is very clean. Servers are knowledgeable and professional. This is a great spot for a date night or just a family dinner! They also have a great drink selection!!

The appetizer platter was good. Delicious egg rolls. They had a large sushi bar. We ordered the sort ribs. Kind of chewy. Everything was fresh. Just average for me

I'm a little ambivalent.... Decidedly unimpressed... sushi was mediocre at best and the Chinese/Japanese offerings were very "OK". Can't see returning with so many stellar offerings within driving range.

Great Sushi. Never had anything but sushi, cuz sushi is too awesome. No better place in KC to get your sushi fix on.

-----12 Feb, 2015-----

Saki Sushi. Miso soup, house salad, 7 piece Nigiri, tuna roll

Great new Asian fusion in the Northland. Try the yellowtail jalapeño sashimi - awesome. I also recommend the Sakura & Dynamite rolls and don't forget the crab wontons.

James. This is the excellent Asian restaurant. We r dinning there almost three times per week for their Asian food , sushi and hibachi dishes. Sakura roll n blue crab roll are my favorite. Drunk noodle n Korean ribs are amazing. We try their soup today on lunch time. ( I think it's called seafood soup ) it's the best. And service always great. We love it. I hope they can doing good.

I've had much better. Probably the worst Asian I've ever had... chicken was very fatty and bland, onion soup was bland, rice was decent, shrimp over cooked and not very much food.

Best in town. Hands down the BEST sushi in KC. I've eaten sushi at all the big name places in town and Saki is by far the best sushi I have ever had. We started with the spicy tuna and avocado salad. It was delicious! We then had 3 signature rolls (mango roll, sumo roll and a dragon roll) and tuna and salmon sashimi. The sashimi was so fresh it melted in your mouth. The rolls were gorgeous and equally delicious. The restaurant was cozy and the décor was nice. The staff was friendly and attentive. The manager checked on our table as much as our server did and engaged us in conversation, but not too much to be annoying. Our entire experience was very good and we had a great time. We also enjoyed a couple cocktails which were very good. My 11 year old really enjoyed his tempura chicken and even used chop sticks for the first time. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Saki. My husband and I were trying out different sushi restaurants around the area and we were not a big fan of Sake compared to the other sushi restaurant in Parkville, Sakae Sushi. Sake Sushi had better quality food, presentation and also had great service!

Nice ambience and decent food. I am glad that another restaurant is trying to get up and going in this unfortunate location, away from the main road and down pothole alley. The interior was remodeled and looks nice. The menu is large, and the food looks great. (Be sure to look at their website.) Everything tastes fresh. I was not a fan of the crab rangoon. It was too sweet and did not taste enough like cream cheese. The sauce on my shrimp and broccoli was rather thin and also on the sweet side. The vegetables and shrimp were quite tasty, however, and I did finish the plate so I must have enjoyed it enough. We will likely try this place again at least a few more times. There's a quite a menu to explore!

More choices for sushi in the Northland. We just had two sushi restaurants open up in the Northland..so needless to say there has been plenty of sushi trying in the past few weeks. We ventured out to Saki for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. We often joke that their location is where restaurants go to die (Thai Place, Yia Yia's and a few mexican). The service was wonderful and prompt and the owner came out several times to check in on us. We heard the table next to us talk about how wonderful the crab wontons (rangoon) were-so we ordered some. And they were amazing! We also had the lettuce wraps (yummy). My husband ordered the hibachi shrimp and chicken, which was lovely. Not too much salt and a sweet and tangy sauce that was wonderful. I ordered sushi (spicy tuna and the pink lady) and both rolls really popped in my mouth. Tasted very fresh and didn't fall apart on me. The decor was a lot of fun and you could tell a lot of thought went into it. We will definitely go back and hope this restaurant does what it's predecessors couldn't...and sticks around!!

Something Good. Stopped in after we happened to notice this new restaurant with an open sign on the door. It was the first day (ever) for our server and she was very pleasant but has a long way to go. Ordered the crab wonton for an appetizer and it was fabulous. Be careful with the soup because it comes in a large family-size bowl from which you serve yourself. Their hot and sour soup includes shrimp and chicken, which was not my favorite, but the very excellent manager offered to make me some without the meat. The folks at the next table had tempura and said it was excellent. We'll go back.

Finally!!!!. I moved here from New York City in 2012...I have not had remarkable sushi since 2012. Saki is a great place. First of all, North Kansas City really needed this. The decor is awesome. As soon as you walk into the place, you feel as if this is going to be a great Asian dining experience. There are a lot of place around here that when you walk in you can tell it was previously a bar or a Mexican joint or something not what it is supposed to be at the time. Saki does a great job as far as atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and I could tell I was going to have, at least, a comfortable time while I was there. The menu is very extensive, and everything we ordered looked exactly as it did in the menu. Portions are large, and even though this is a mid-range priced establishment, the meal is WELL worth the cost. Everything we ordered tasted amazing. We could not believe it (especially since we've been searching for a great sit-down place). Everything we ordered was at the right temperature. One of my biggest pet peeves with the other places in town is that I have been served room-temperature or warmer sushi/rolls and stone cold and/or greasy tempura rolls. That is downright unappetizing.

We plan on visiting Saki, OFTEN, just to keep them in town as long as possible!

Admittedly, I don’t think about driving to the Northland to eat. I’m usually only in the area on the way to or from the airport, and never want to stop to eat after a trip in which I spend most of my time eating! But many Facebook mentions and online pictures of Saki Asian convinced me to make the drive, which is actually no farther and probably easier than driving to Leawood from the Plaza. The name and the pictures I had seen made me assume that this is just a sushi restaurant, but when we sat down and were handed the extensive menu I discovered that it’s an Asian restaurant serving the cuisines of China, Thailand and Japan. Since we only ordered sushi and didn’t try any of the wok dishes or the hibachi grill or the curries, I have no idea if they’ve tackled too much, but I do know that they hit a home run with the sushi. The sushi list is extensive, and our server recommended it all so it was hard to pare down our choices. But we were delighted with wha
