Hayes Hamburger And Chili - Kansas City - Photo album

An old school, breakfast served all day, 10+ selections of pie, with less seating that menu options. CASH ONLY. Smaller thin burgers, so order a double or triple. Old flat top grill that has been serving KC for over 60 years. Could be confused for a mechanic from the outside but on the inside it's A
Such a great little (and I do mean little) burger joint. Food was excellent- crispyest onion rings I've ever had and the burgers were well cooked and delicious. My son compared the fries and said they were just like the ones from McDs (highest of praise). It is cash only - the prices make it easy fo
Excellent prices (especially in this current economy), amazing service and delicious food. For it being a tight space with counter top grilling, it felt great inside. Their AC and overall ventilation is remarkably good.
Hayes has to be one of the top three of my favorite burger joints in Kansas City too bad they’re not open 24 hours like they used to be because I would always stop in at between 12 AM and 4 AM for a late night snack with some of my friends when we’ve been out on the town. Great service great atmosph
A lot of people seem to be fans and the place came highly recommended, but we were not blown away as hoped. We luckily had enough spare cash since they don't take card and we didn't know that. We learned while there that there is an ATM and bathroom on the side of the building. The cheeseburgers wer
Classic American Diner. It’s the kind of place where you will never eat alone. Cop a squat on a stool at the counter and watch your food being made to order. Everything is served hot off the grill. Don’t look for “Heath Food”, they don’t have any — no lettuce for your burger either. Chili Chees
Based on existing reviews, I’m sure the food is good. They only accept cash, so I removed a star for the inconvenience. A lot of folks don’t carry cash. They are also closed on Sunday despite Google Maps saying otherwise.
This place is so cute and so original from the 50s. When I took a pic of it a friend referred it to a movie that was coming to KC that needed a diner - they came here! Pretty cool! Loved the original look and the help was very friendly. Food was typical of an old diner - greasy and ok - but to be
Went with a friend ordered 3 sides and a cheese burger the rude person asked if it was for one person. I responded with a “I’m fat” but does it really matter how much I order if I’m paying for it. No worries she throw on an extra side of hash browns when I said I didn’t order those she said oh yes y
Nice Diner vibes. I had a cheeseburger and chili and onion rings. All very good particularly the burger. We then ordered butterscotch pie and a root beer float. Good stuff. Also if you hadn't heard, Cash only.
It's a fun little dinner serving old fashioned classics and very affordable prices. The staff was friendly and the food was good.
Been around forever. It's good. Not great. It's affordable, not cheap. Cash only. Sometimes you get a surly waitress. Pie is worth it. They've served smash burger sliders before there were smash burger sliders.
