This is THE diner experience in KC. It's got everything a diner is known for, including the good prices. Right next door to the river market. Don't pass this place up!

Great little diner. The facility isn’t the cleanest. Food was great though. Delicious and correct temperature. Service could have been better. Took awhile to get our order placed, and she seemed to be distracted during our order. Prices are high for the food we received. We will come back

Food was pretty good, went on a pretty anticlimactic Wednesday for lunch but it was still busy because there was one lady serving so she has a lot going on. I had the #1 breakfast which came with 2 eggs scrambled, half and half ham and country sausage with hash browns. Everything was great except the hash browns which were an oily mess. I really liked the cook and taste of the meats. We also tried the biscuits and gravy and they were awful. Their biscuits were fresh, fluffy and delicious but man the gravy tasted like some thick goo that came out of a prepackage plastic bag. Gross, don’t recommend. The buttermilk pancakes on the other hand - delicious and really big servings. We got the short stack which came with 3 small pancakes and it was large enough to split among 2 people.

Awesome breakfast for a fair price. Service was great. Food was delicious. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast. Portions are massive.

My noble quest? To conquer every pancake within KC's domain! Today, I ventured forth to City Diner, inching ever closer to my doughy destiny. A standing ovation for the pancakes, though they leaned a tad towards the greasy end of the spectrum (if I'm allowed to speak pancake truth). It's like they took a brief dip in the deep-fry Jacuzzi – fried pancakes, anyone? Honestly, who can resist the siren call of fried delights? I swear, you could fry an old pair of Nike running shoes, and they'd still put salads to shame! Imagine savoring these delights while the weekend city market vibes bustle outside your window, as if they knew you needed a side of urban charm with your old-fashioned pancake adventure. So, loosen your belt and sharpen your fork, because KC's pancake escapade just got a whole lot tastier.

The entire experience was fantastic. Staff were friendly, the food arrived quickly and was delicious. Portions were huge yet affordable. I will definitely visit again when I go back to town.

Little Diner maximum capacity of 30. Seriously some of the best food I have tasted and I got the basic of basic breakfast. My husband got the western omelet and he loved it. The staff was so friendly and even with a full diner we never had to wait for refills. Very clean little diner. I hope this place stays opened for a long time because I will be coming here whenever i’m in town. Love this place

Great omelettes, good coffee, and great service in a traditional diner atmosphere. I had the Country Sausage Omelette with country fries and an English muffin. Delish! My other half had a Philly Steak Omelette with hash browns and wheat toast, and he really enjoyed it. The prices seemed reasonable, my coffee cup was always full, and the place seemed clean. It was our second visit, and there will definitely be a third next time we’re in the neighborhood.

It was very busy, but the wait wasn’t bad at all. Food was amazing, although if you have food allergies be careful because we asked for no tomatoes and still got them - but it was a very busy Sunday morning so I’m sure there was a lot going on. The atmosphere is great, very kitschy diner vibe, and everyone there was very pleasant even for as busy as they were.
