I love eating here I have my favorites like the Tia Maria and Chicken Poblana but like to always try something new they have several vegetable options too! So glad they are in Katy!
We went for dinner on a Saturday night and were not disappointed!!!! We had the Charro, Chicken Pot Pie, Honey Pulled Pork, Chicken Florentine, Pizza and Southwest Black Bean empanadas... Then we had the Guava, Banana with Everything, Lemon Curd Cheesecake and Snickers empanadas for dessert. Everything was so good and we left stuffed! We will definitely be coming back again!!!!!

Kids and adults will enjoy. Desserts are awesome as well. Great place for a Saturday night. We will be back.
The most consistent restaurant I've ever frequented- FANTASTIC!!. I first ate at Marini's in San Antonio c.1979. They closed :-( Fast forward to Houston 1988/ 89 (Hillcroft & Richmond)- found them again & never missed them on a Houston trip again. Now, husband is working long term in Houston & we hit there every week when we go home to San Antonio for the weekend. Perfect EVERY time!

Outstanding.. This place is excellent. Long-time Houston residents will get a kick out of seeing the old sign which was salvaged from the old restaurant in town which burned down in in the 1980s. However, every visitor will appreciate the excellent empanadas. They're made fresh right there in plain view by the original owner and his wife, who are the cooks. The sons and cousins work the counter. The selection of flavors is extensive, both savory and dessert. This place is a vegetarian's dream. Unlike the majority of eating establishments I visit, where I am limited to one or two items on the menu, this place is a veritable gold mine of choice. It's a ways to get there unless you live in Katy or the western Houston suburbs, but it's worth it.
Bar none my favorite place to eat. I've never had anything that wasn't to die for. Chicken poblana, viva Zapata, humita, peanut butter cup, and guava are some must tries!!
Dessert Empanadas Are To Die For!. I absolutely love all of the dessert empanadas! The sweet potato, blueberry, banana and cinnamon...love them ALL!
I also love all of the other empanadas as well. They are full of flavor and cooked to perfection. They have some very creative variaties and I can't wait to get the chance to try all of them. This is definitely one of my new favorite spots to grab lunch or dinner.
Simply Marini.... It is the best deal in fast food in Katy...It is the place to eat some unbelievable good "empanadas" in an authentic Argentinian style... And Marini is really a nice person, not like most Argentinians from Buenos Aires. This place is strongly recommended!!!

This is a great place! For started, their variety ensures something for everyone! The food is very flavorful, we tried quite a few different empanadas and were NOT disappointed! If you like real Mexican food try the chicken poblano the mole is quite tasty!
Convenient, different but still 'kid-friendly', and ALWAYS delicious!. I love this place! They're right around the corner from our house and the service is always super quick and friendly. Even though the concept of 'Latin American' cuisine (that's not Mexican) is relatively exotic and not very common in the Katy area, their menu has that 'different' feel that my husband and I crave - such as , while still pleasing the kids with flavors such as Pizza and Ham & Cheese. I would DEFINITELY recommend The Original Marini's Empanada House!!!

So Many Choices. We've visited Marini's once and enjoyed it. There are so many choices though, and some of the ingredients don't seem like they'd traditionally go together, so I'm not sure how we'd ever be able to try some of them.

Empanadas. Very good food, very good price. Try the spinach, it is the best.
The empanadas are reasonably priced and there is a variety to choose from (meat, veggie, cheese, & desert).
This place is so wonderful. The service was so kind and nice. The place is very clean and the food is AMAZING.

Dulce De lece cream cheese empanada
The Hawaiian
The cordon bleu
And we loved all of them!
They carry TX beers and have all sorts of options as far as food and other treats.

I was really craving empanadas and found this place searching Google maps. I ordered 3 different “entree style” empanadas - Chicken BBQ, Bacon burger & English. Cheeseburger was definitely my favorite ! I love that they were all filled so well & not tons of bread with a little bit of filling ( pictures included ). The ENGLISH was ok, I expected more from it. The filling was a bit dry like it could’ve been made the day before, but I loved the potatoes inside with the vegetables. The BBQ chicken was good but I wasn’t wowed & I actually ordered the Texas BBQ or whatever comes with brisket and I didn’t realize until I drove away. No big deal because I’m gonna go back anyway & I would’ve tried the BBQ chicken eventually. The breading is a bit thick and doughy. Overall, good bang for your buck, very nice employees, no inside seating so prepare to take your food to go, must wear a mask to enter, large selection of entree style and dessert empanadas, would recommend. Oh and the chimchurri is so yummy!
Omg. Visiting from Georgia and it was absolutely amazing. We tried Tia Maria, Beef Gaucho, spicy pull pork and apple delce de leche. Made to order and delicious. I will definitely be back before I leave.
Came here for the first time today!! These empanadas are so FRESH and yummy!! My family and I tried the beef Gaucho, Tia Marie, as well as the spicy pull pork and the apple delce de leche. The crust was so good And chewy. Will definitely return back here to try them all!
The empanadas are the best!. The owner is always around making sure quality is spot on. If you go please order the sangria (red wine with apples) you won’t regret it! I just wish the have more “diet friendly” options.

Always good,freshly made to order food!! Staff is wonderful!! Did i mention delicious food??? Lol...give them a try, you will be hooked! Meat, vegetarian and fruit empanadas. Something for every tastebud!! Fresh food, great staff, clean restaurant with good ambiance, they have it all! Both locations are terrific! I frequent the Westheimer location more due to my work location, but when I am at home in Katy, ill visit here! The only downside, no parking, just park in the Walgreens parking lot and walk over. Its a shares parking lot, with other stores.
I’ve been going to the Marini’s in the Westchase area of west Houston for 10 years or more. About a year ago my wife and I moved out to Katy, and I am so glad to once again, be living 5 minutes from the best empanadas around! My personal favorite is the Texan BBQ, and my wife can’t live without the Chicken Cordon Bleu and the Apple Gabriela for dessert. The Marini family truly cares about their product and provides excellent customer service. They have earned my weekly business.
Great place for hot and fresh Empanadas. Their sandwiches looked delicious, so I will be going back to try them. I mostly tried their Chicken Empanadas but they do have all vegetarian or meat ones. They do have craft beers (in bottle) of you enjoy a drink with some hot Empanadas. Must try!
Great customer service and food is delicious! The beef empanada is everyone’s favorite but the there others are just as delicious. Reasonable pricing as well.

The best empanadas around. Hands down. But everybody should know that about Marino's. Never had a bad experience here. I always take out of state visitors here.
It is really good and unique. They have really perfected the craft. I recommend this place unless you're lactose intolerant or gluten free.
The empanadas are very yummy here. The menu is not as big as the one of westheimer but not bad if you need a fixing of empanadas
I have nothing but great things to say about Marini's. I've never been disappointed in my food. The menu has great variety (of empanadas) so you can satisfy almost any craving in a small handheld dough pocket. The buffalo chicken and chicken poblano are excellent if you want heat. All of the BBQ varieties are great, my favorite is the Texas brisket. The Gaucho is a classic and delicious. The dessert selection never fails.
Service wise, I have to say I've never eaten in the shop because I didn't discover this place until mid-pandemic. The take out service is efficient and easy, though. They will bring it out to your car or you can go in and grab. I call in orders and they've never made a mistake.
The price is very fair in my opinion. I'm a big guy and I can be satisfied with two of them, so that's good value. Overall, I recommend you try it.
Great food, great price, nice atmosphere. They had a lot of people coming in and still managed to get out food out quickly.
