We went to get breakfast today for the first time and liked it a lot. The place is nice and cozy; very friendly staff; loved their habanero hot sauce oh and the best part salvadorian coffee wow the best- I am salvadorian
We had a great time eating breakfast yesterday, everything was fabulous. If I did not live so far out, I would have breakfast there more often... a treat to say the least.
Excellent food, great helpful staff.
The food was excellent I had the waffles and chicken. My daughter had the big breakfast. The manager was very attentive and stopped to make sure everything was ok. I love this place even though its always crowded the line move really fast. I would recommend it and the burgers are delicious
We visited yesterday for brunch (breakfast available til 4pm on weekends, and omelets available til close.) Good food, service, and choices.
Last year the music was so loud we sat outside, but yesterday it was at an appropriate level. If you were avoiding this place for that reason, try it again.
I am from Georgia & my second day in Texas my cousin said, "let me take you to my favorite breakfast spot". It did not disappoint. It was delicious!!! I have been telling everybody in GA they had got to come to Texas & eat at this resturant. 10 thumbs up!!
Finally made it to Black Walnut after hearing so many good things and they didn’t disappoint! Was there for dinner and had a Salmon with Cauliflower Risotto with Spinach. Amazing! Happy hour prices on wine was a bonus. I️ will be back for sure.
Awesome place with a nice environment and great service and food. Definitely would recommend
Wonderful service and delicious food. I love that you can have breakfast even late morning. dinner menu is also great.

This is a nice restaurant! This was our first time there! We loved the choices in the menu, and everyone was so friendly and helpful! I truly think my friends would love this dining experience!
Brioche French toast is the best! Get a side of bacon and it will be the best brunch ever!
Despite being very busy on weekends, service is quick. Today around noon walked in as a party for 8. A nice gentleman helped us out gather a table outside, the wait was probably like 15 minutes tops. No rush either, because it gave us time to look over the menu and order. I like the set up how you walk in order and sit down till your order is ready. Makes the process easier, the outside patio was nice and especially with today’s weather. The staff just were amazing today, very impressed.
Now onto the food, I have the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. The only thing is that as we all ordered separately but one after the other my food came out first. Bummer because I don’t like eating without everyone else having their plate yet. So, I ordered the coleslaw on the side because the cashier actually suggested it because it could cause the bun to become soggy. Definitely recommend. I love a sweet slaw, was up there for me. The chicken was not spicy, I expected it to be on the spicer side from past experience. Fries were mediocre but delish. It could have been a little more warm because I felt like my food wasn’t hot and fresh. This is a really nice establishment to come to with a variety to pick from.
Very good restaurant! I would definitely recommend! This place gets very packed but tables are usually always available, I’ve been here a few times and never had a bad experience! One thing I would maybe suggest them to do is have the plastic wrapped straws, the ones they offer are placed unwrapped throughout the restaurant! I might just be funny about these things, but that’s my only concern! That way the straws stay clean for us to use! I would also suggest they give us the straws to put in our drinks ourselves, instead of doing it for us just for hygiene purposes other than that no complaints
I got a mimosa flight (strawberry was the best), chicken tortilla soup (wow) and chicken & waffles! (Omg) Everything was delicious! This was my second time going, but it was my first time at this location, and they did nit disappoint! I will definitely be back soon because I need to try their queso.
The food was pretty good.
Hot & fresh. I had the Healther Than The Rest Omlet (egg whites & veggies) & my husband had lemon blueberry pancakes with eggs, bacon, & sausage added.
My only complaint is that something fell into the pancake mix or wasn't mixed well and that part tasted like when you put some pill medicine in your mouth, drink water & accidentally don't swallow it. I'm not sure if it was some type of strong bittery powder that they use to make the lemon creame flavor but it was horrible.
If you don't like you bacon very dark and crunch, I'd suggest letting them know when you order. Our bacon was very crunch & dark and it looked like other people's bacon was also.
Our very first time and certainly not the last one, it as a great breakfast and awesome service!
Originally tried to come here on a Sunday late morning and it was packed! The line was too long so we decided to wait until a different day. This time went on a Saturday early morning and got in right away!!
There is plenty of seating in the restaurant and the servers are very attentive to your needs. Note that, while this is a sit down restaurant, you must first order at the cash register then take a seat.
There were plenty of breakfast options to choose from. I got the Avocado Bacon Benedict and also got to try the Bacon Jam Cheeseburger Benedict and French Toast. The servers, having heard it was our first time at the Cafe, surprised us with a free French Toast to split with our group. It was delicious! There was a hint of citrus in the French toast which made it stand out from other French toasts. The Avocado Bacon Benedict was a great combo of flavors, and their homemade hollandaise is superb. The Bacon Jam Cheeseburger I didn't enjoy as much but the bacon jam was something cool to try.
The desserts they had displayed in the front looked amazing, however I didn't get to try any of them. Additionally I noticed they had options for milkshakes- both regular and alcoholic. I only wish they had a dessert menu so I could have looked at the prices.
Overall, a good breakfast place to visit, I just recommend going early since this place seems to be popular!
We had an amazing experience at Black Walnut Cafe. The food was outstanding, with each dish perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The staff, led by the remarkable manager, provided exceptional service, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Highly recommend for a top-notch breakfast experience!
Spacious, Beautiful and Awesome place. This concept is new to me as I’m only visiting Katy for the first time since 1989. I love Texas and miss it for all the reasons I really enjoyed Black Walnut. Upon entering it’s easy to see that a Texas sized “ Big-Hat-Have-Cattle “party could happen here any morning . 🎉🎉 Well appointed for a sophisticated breakfast without pretenses. It’s easy to order, pay, then choose a seat. I enjoyed a yummy Texas Pecan coffee while we waited. So good that I had a second cup after breakfast to linger and enjoy the ambiance. My husband’s a tea drinker and he was pleased too. The food came out fresh and expedited. The quality of the eggs were fresh. The nice choice of vegetables in my omelette were cooked perfectly. The bacon: yummy. The Pico de Gallo —authentic Texas. Woohoo!!!Since my diet requires me to stay off carbs and dairy I really enjoyed the heartiness/ healthy fresh. The menu has choices for my vegan and vegetarian friends too. Our server who brought the food was kind and attentive and always made sure to check up on how we were doing and the quality of the food. As soon as they saw we were finished they came to remove our plates. Since you pay up front, the lingering is your choice and not on a staff shortage. That’s totally 5 star nice. The cafe was busy with people, and the atmosphere happy. Definitely the perfect place to go if you’re looking for a healthy, refreshing breakfast/brunch. Alcohol choices look top shelf. This was an unplanned stop coming back from Moab, UT and it totally made our day enjoyable why we waited for repairs to proceed home to Sarasota. Love ❤️ you Texas, thank you for making us smile 🤩😍😍😍😍

Great food, healthy options as well cheat day treats. The coconut shrimp w/sweet potato fries is a favorite. This restaurant has a fabulous brunch menu as well.
Great quick lunch or dinner in Cinco Ranch. They do a great breakfast, too!
This location off Cinco Ranch Blvd is a Cinco Ranch institution. These guys have been here from the early days of this neighborhood. The service is always 👍 great. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. They repaired the booths with new covers and made a few other slight changes to brighten up the place. The one thing that stands out about this place the manager. He's always out in front or expediting food, greetings customers, and clearing tables. 😀
Beautiful presentation and flavorful! If I had to describe the food and service with only one word it would be "Exquisite"
Oscar gave us all exceptional service and helped me figure out what entree to order as this was my first time here. I had the Asian Glazed Atlantic Salmon and I was not disappointed.
Fine dining with a relaxing atmosphere.
Always a good spot to hang out. Great food. They have some good vegetarian classics if you have someone in your party of this diet. It's got a good atmosphere for a pay at the counter style restaurant. I always enjoy the food. They are a hair overpriced, and the starting tip suggestion is 18% for a place without table service...That stuff kinda burns me that they even bring it up, though I can't fault them in the food, so I let it go.
Excellent customer service interaction. Feom the sales clerk to our waitress, had a terrific experience. Very polite, hospitable.& customer friendly. Our food all came out at once, hot, and delicious. Pleasantly satisfied by the savoriness of the food. Reals eggs used which was definitely a plus. The waffle was nice fluffy and fresh. The chicken fingers did have a slight sweat taste to the breading which I was not a fan on but other than that, still the chicken Was moist and tasty. The shrimp was good and the sauce was out of this world good.
First of all, we stumbled upon this treasure while browsing for nearby places to eat and we were just curious. It kinda felt a bit awkward when we got inside--like lost puppies but, immediately a friendly staff greeted us with a smile and showed us what to do. I love how they give you option to find our own spot to sit....inside or outside.
Our first order was an appetizer, Chicken Lettuce Wraps. We took our first bite and we were amazed...our main entrées came and we mutually agreed everything is so Flavorful!
So far, we cant get enough of this place thus, we made it our favorite Go-To restaurant each time we drive to Katy. We recommend this Café/Restaurant to our friends and family. just surprised they don't advertise because I wouldn't have ever known if it wasn't for Google Search.
