Loved this place so much I ate it two nights in a row!
Food for me is sometimes much less about ambiance and more about quality and value. Captain Tom's is very small, charming, and lively. ...a true oyster bar. A dozen fresh was just $15.95 and they do have happy hour where they are cheaper.

Best oysters and best michelada in TEXAS! Must try! Take my word you will not be disappointed. Mostly Spanish speaking establishment but you will be ok. Fried foods mainly but gumbo is awesome. This place gets packed so avoid rush hours like lunch hour.
Always creating freshly shucked oysters and delicious fried seafood. The Micheladas are the best in Texas. Ask them to add a shrimp or oyster to them to make it extra decadent. If there’s a line to wait to sit down? Get in it! Totally worth it.

One of my favorite places in Houston for fried seafood. Their tartar sauce is so delicious for no reason, and their Micheladas are the best in town. The oysters are pretty good too. Gumbo is a must every time. Seating can be a bit tricky, so larger parties might have a hard time.
This place, fondly referred to as "El Barquito," is a must visit every time I travel to the Houston area. Best oysters on the halfshell I've had anywhere. The micheladas are legendary!
It is what it is.... fried seafood. But there's something about it that makes you keep coming back for more. The Gumbo is definitely a solid way to start. Plus, you can't beat those micheladas.

Great beer, great atmosphere. Love the oyster. Everything is good. Personally I prefer less salt in some dishes. Will come back soon.
