It was our 1st time! We were greeted then ordered our food, she gave us a number to put on the table. So the food came to our table. The food was really good! I liked the moist brisket the most, and the fries! Will return!
Yummmmmmmmmmm
OMG freaking YUMMMM
The ribs…
All I can say is THE RIBS!!! The ribs are literally a perfect 10. Absolute PERFECTION has been achieved.
If I wasn’t watching my figure, I swear I’d eat 20. I’ve been here 3x & they very consistent with the meat.
The sides are about average, which is a little disappointing. The macaroni and cheese is below average, I’m not sure if it’s boxed, but it’s not very good.
The green beans are very bland. But once you add a little salt to them, they’re OK!
The potato salad is excellent! I wouldn’t change anything about it.
Skip the corn, it is not good.
Mashed potatoes are perfect. They are filled with garlic flavor!
The cornbread has potential, but it’s a little dry. It has a great flavor, but it’s hard to eat dried Dry cornbread.
The baked beans are very very good! They are pretty sweet, so if you don’t like sweet beans, I would skip these. But I thought they were excellent!
The bread pudding is pretty good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but it’s decent.
The unlimited salad bar is so good. They have some pretty decent options. And for 10 bucks they give you a massive plate.
Overall, I think this place is really good. If they step their game up with sides and desserts, nobody in Houston would be able to compete with them.
I ordered from Red River for a corporate event. This was some of the best BBQ I've ever had and I from Texas! We had chicken, sausage and brisket with green beans and mac and cheese. The brisket was so tender, we had no issues cutting it with a plastic knife as you could almost pull it apart with a fork. Also, for those ordering delivery/catering, the containers came very clean with no smeared food of them and the beans were in a separate small container which was nice as the juice did not spill into other items in the container. I highly recommend this establishment for personal or catering events.
Edit: We went back the very next day. Awesome experience again. The fried pickle portion was huge, but we already tore into it before I thought to take a picture.
The food was great, but I also wanted to leave a special thanks to the young guy at the counter with the long-ish hair.
Food first, though.
We ordered a brisket cheese fries as an appetizer, and it was probably the best thing we got. I almost ordered another one to-go. My wife ordered a 3 meat plate, and I ordered a brisket melt burger.
Everything was cooked well, and they even asked my wife if she wanted lean or moist brisket. (Awesome that they give the option.)
The cashier at the counter (didn't get a name) also actually took the time to interact with my 3yo daughter. She was making faces, so he started playing with her, making faces right back. It was nice to see. Just about everywhere you go with a 3yo (restaurants, superstores, clothing stores, dealerships, etc.) no one will acknowledge the children, so it's definitely a bonus when the staff can make the dining experience fun for the toddler, too.
We sampled both the sliced and chopped brisket sandwich. We also had a stuffed baked potato with pulled pork and spicy sausage. A salad bar was added and it was delicious! 10/10 recommend!
Popped in here for some lunch. The meal was good and the place was busy with sit in and take away orders. The menu is big and I had the pulled pork sandwich which was stacked with pulled pork, smoked sausage and crispy bacon added to with a side of corn 🌽 and sweet potato fries. My wife has chicken strips with a side of Mac and cheese. It was all pretty delicious but we had no room for dessert.
I'm normally not a big fan of bbq or fried food, but after Red River BBQ I'm definitely hooked! It was my daughter's high school spirit night and honestly I didn't have high expectations for the food - so I made a to go order. When I entered into the restaurant, the atmosphere was so nice it felt like I was visiting a restaurant on a road trip.
Foodwise: The rib we ordered were tasty; I loved the side orders especially. Coleslaw and mashed potatoes were fresh.
I am very glad this place is near my house; Definitely coming back soon!
I love coming here to get my BBQ fix, the atmosphere is nice as I tend to come here alone from time to time to relax and eat a great meal. The food is consistently good and I've loved everything I've tried so far. The meats are moist and the sides are pretty tasty as well. You walk in and place your order at the counter, take the number they give you, and your food will be out shortly after, and they seem to get it out pretty quick each time.
I also love the BBQ sauce that they provide with your food, it comes in a plastic bottle nicely warm, so I slather it on my food which always makes it taste great. If you are looking for great tasting BBQ that won't break the bank, this is a great spot.
I have taken several people here and they've also enjoyed it. If you're eating with someone I suggest the bread pudding dessert, it's too much for one person as it is super rich, but absolutely delicious, great for sharing, sharing the guilt that is! (HA!)
Overall I highly recommend this place.
The texas hushpuppies was amazing the last time I came here so I had to come back for them. All the food here looks great and smells good too. This place ROCKS
We love coming here. Great place to go to eat with family and friends. There is something for everyone! Parents bring the kids and let them run around in the kids area. Sandbox area is great and kept clean. So many great items on the menu. They do serve beer here and have plenty of TVs around to watch the games. The owners thought of everything to make sure you're covered when you're here.
We got the food to go as the weather was bad and we were not feeling it. The food was great and the portions were big. Definitely will be going again it is a little bit on the pricey side but everything is these days.
Food was great. It wasn't as noisy as you'd think it'd be. It was pretty busy, being Father's day, but the wait staff handled our group without a hitch. The prices and quality of food were way better than a certain other barbecue place on Mason.
We have been twice in the last week. The menu is extensive. My husband and I have now both had the baked potato with meat and it's awesome. Last night I had the fried shrimp special and that was good too. The mac and cheese is pretty good. The wait staff was ok each time. Someone checked in once after our food arrived, but never saw anyone again. Neither night was super busy, so I figured may e they would stop by again. We will definitely be back.
Boy oh boy. They know how to cook a well done steak without drying it out or burning it. Well worth the drive from Pattison TX You don't need steak sauce bbq sauce. Just steak. Will be coming again
Stop by to eat around 5 p.m. on a Saturday. It was not crowded when we arrived but as we were leaving it got busy. We had the slice lean barbecue sandwiches. The BBQ sauce is tasty and the buns are soft.
For the sides we had french fries, potato salad, and green beans. The barbecue sandwiches were good and the sides were okay.
