A nice gem in our very own city of Katy! You won’t know this place exists if you are driving by in the area. Nestled in an established commercial warehouse area is this very cute Venezuelan cafe that opens all week. Right when you walk in, you are greeted by smiles and warmth. Then the place is lit with with modern farmhouse decor! They have a wide range of food and coffee from breakfast, lunch and dinner! Come check this place out! ChowChow Time!!
This wonderful and adorable place is so delicious. The atmosphere is upbeat and aesthetically pleasing. Every time I come here I have chosen something different from the menu and nothing has disappointed me yet. Between the tasty food, the unique coffee drinks and there fresh juices you will enjoy your meal, for sure.
A hidden gem! The food was amazing! It took a while to get our food and we both got our plates at different times but the food was hot and freshly cooked. It was worth the wait. I will definitely be back.
There was nothing I didn’t like about this restaurant. Authentic and cozy. My wife and I had their delicious arepas and pastelitos, and they did not miss. Will comeback again.
Costumer service was great! This place is perfect if you're looking for great food and a relaxed atmosphere. Everything we ordered was delicious and their passion fruit juices was by far one of the best ones I've had so far in a restaurant. Highly recommend it!!!
La Baguette's pickup order was flawless. The food was exceptional, packed with care, and arrived piping hot. The flavors were delightful, showcasing their culinary expertise. The process was seamless, from ordering by phone to pickup. Highly recommended for a gourmet experience at work for 25 employee everyone says it’s home quality not commercial food
Good food and the restroom was very clean.
Update: the Picada was awesome!!
This is my third time in this restaurant. The service is awesome and the food taste fantastic it is real made from scratch. I ordered a simple grill chicken breast to check the seasoning and it came extraordinary. The presentation on a wooden-flat plate is great as well as the sides in separate wooden containers. The Bombom coffee is a MUST in this place as sets apart from other places. The only thing I would like to this place to consider is the location however I know it is based on price-demand and it will be very difficult to relocate to somewhere more fancy such as La Centerra or somewhere more accessible as it depends on rental, mobilization etc. It is a matter of time I guess to this place to grow if they continue with excellent service and true-food options Good job guys...
Great cappuccino coffee and homemade alfajores! Both not too sugary and great flavor.
Classic plate is great and fulfilling.
The chicken salad arepa is delicious and a good size meal. Highly recommend it.
Family own restaurant with amazing food and great service. Had the Criollo Plate and it was the perfect amount of food. Great combination of flavors. And the first place since moving to Texas from Florida where I can get a great cup of Cafe con Leche. Will be coming back.
Found this place on google search and absolutely loved it! Family run and delicious food. Love the ambiance and service. A must try for anyone in the area or looking for a new place to try out. I am a foodie and eat out often to try new food. I highly recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed.
FIRST VISIT:
Most say my expectations were really high.
Today is Sunday 8:30 pm and It is closed and it is supposed to be open until 9pm.
Really disappointed.
I hope next time they get the right times.
SECOND VISIT:
We got here today and the service was GREAT the food and the bread was amazing.
I am not a coffee fan BUT the bombom coffee was super good.
Keep going guys great job.
I love this place. We came here often enough. The food is always fresh and HOT & the staff is great. Had the Criollo with chicken and Soursop juice. Yummy.
Great little spot, food is amazing
Came back after a years, since they change owner, food and service has improved enormously, I had the mini arepas, they were nice and crunchy, also order a ceviche, plate was more than enough fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is great, for a casual meeting or just to grab a bite.
Will come back for more.

First visit: Was not able to try it since they do not follow their business hours, the closed almost an hours before there posted sign.
Hear great thing about the place but since they do not care about their clientele can’t spect much.
This place is ADORABLE, the staff is very friendly and nice, the coffee has great taste, and they also have milk substitutes (for our lactose intolerant friends), the alfajores were made fresh in the morning, didn’t have a chance to take a pic, they were too good! The pabellón tasted like true Venezuelan food! Delicious, will be coming back here!
Came to this quaint and unassuming place about a year or so ago for a meeting. I was in the shopping center for a business visit and saw it and thought I would try it out. Quiet and had about 2 tables occupied by small groups of regulars. The lady that waited on me was very well versed on the menu and very warm and gracious. Found out that she was the owner only because I asked her. Nice lady was smiling and took my order and after a suggestion I orderer a Mateo Burger that came with avocado and muenster cheese which is not normal. I added bacon and as she should, she asked how many strips and told me the upcharge upnfront. Chose the seasoned fries and ordered a latte and water. Brought drinks out fast and was very prompt and pleasant. The latte was great and had the raw sugar steamed in the milk I asked for. Price was good for the size and quality. Burger and fry presentation was very good and simple. They advertised the meat to fresh and never frozen and didnt disappoint. Perfect ratio of soft yet firm bun, crisp and clean not wilted veggies. Tomato was organic and delish( I usually dont like tomatoes because most places have soggy 2 day old prepped tomatoes. Bacon was crisp yet not fried in the fryer. Delish!! Fries came with a small ramkin of ketchup and was crisp and hot. Everything made to order and fresh. Nice, clean restaurant. Great service. Will definitely be back!! I am a picky person and this place did not disappoint. Great value for everything! GO check out Mayra's place.
First time coming here and 100% recommended. I ordered some things to sample before going full on lunch and everything was super good! The first thing I’m giving the 5 stars is the service, kind, respectful, smiling, attentive service. I ordered 1 cheese and 1 shredded beef fried empanada also 1 ground beef pastelito and tequeños. The cheese one I could do without certainly the cheese could be a little more salty, but the ground beef and shredded beef take the crown! Super well seasoned, flavor was spot on, the ground beef had raisins and boiled egg that balance the salty protein... very nice combination. The tequeños are good, could be better with a saltier cheese but very good dough and not oily at all! Last the “Polvorosas” made daily super fresh, soft, moist, and the Arequipe soooo creamy! Great to finish the meal with a nice strong black coffee! I’ll definitely come back and try more things!
Anyone who has ever had perfect gallo pinto knows that it ranks as one of the great dishes of the planet. At it's most basic, it's rice and black beans, but at it's finest, it's speckled with chopped onion and peppers, flecks of fresh cilantro, and bursting with the flavors of Costa Rica's treasured Salsa Lizano (I very seldom see it for sale here and pick it up whenever I am in Costa Rica). When cooked in the right oil at the right temperature with a well-seasoned pan, usually at a simple "soda" on the side of a roadway, it's pure magic. My favorite add-in of all is Costa Rican natilla (a thick, rich slightly sour crema) and a little hot sauce (Crystal always works for me!). Gallo pinto goes with everything though best with a couple sunny-side up eggs, sliced avocado, and Costa Rica's ubiquitous tiny factory made tortillas (TortiRicas) at breakfast. And now, finally, I can say that there is a spot in Houston that serves an exemplary plate of this dish.
I've visited tiny Venezuelan-owned La Baguette Bakery & Bistro in Katy (21821 Katy Freeway) on many occassions since they first opened about 5 years ago. Not only is their food top-notch, but they also make spectacular coffees and fruit drinks. And now, they offer more than just their scrumptious Venezuelan specialties, including a gallo pinto that should make any Tico proud. It is served with two eggs, a juicy chorizo, fried plátanos, and grilled cheese. And yes, they use REAL Salso Lizano! The only way it could be better is with a few slices of aguacate, a dollop of natilla, and some hot sauce for flavor. But it was so delicious, it nearly brought tears to my eyes. If you don't see it on the menu, just ask for the gallo pinto plate. It's served all day.
This place is sweet and small and located just off the south feeder on I-10, just east of Mason, behind the Discount Tire (take a right on Mason Creek and enter the parking lot at the first turn to the right). The lady who runs it has put her heart into this business, and it shows in the food. Katy has become a true dining destination--this place is one of my 3 favorite places to eat in the area.
And I can't stress enough--don't pass up this gallo pinto!
