The staff were friendly.
The food was quickly prepared.
The floor is very slippery because of the oil, so be careful.
The food was generally delicious, and the tenbura was very crispy and delicious.
The salad and soup served before the meal were also good.
Shogun never disappoints!!! Fun atmosphere, great food, and perfect pricing! Make sure to interact with your hibachi chef for lots more fun entertainment! Thank you for showing us a great time with really really good foods!
This is a fantastic resturaunt featuring Japanese hibachi style cuisine. It's a bit more serious than other hibachi style places where the chefs appear to focus more on the food and less on tricks. Don't get me wrong, they still do their fair share of tricks, but is better balanced to enhance the experience instead of taking front seat. What you end up with is perfectly cooked food that is delicious instead of overcooked food you justify because they were busy doing tricks. It's a resturaunt after all, food is the more important key and Shogun hits the mark perfectly. The sushi holds its own, but where they excel is in the fresh cooked items such as steak, scallops, lobster, and shrimp. If you order your steak rare or medium, it will be cooked to precise order and scallops are cooked to perfection rather than overcooked as often in most hibatchi style resturaunts.
Definitely tops all expectations! Above average food not good not average but stellar food and service. Food was packed with care and remained hot and delicious. Definitely a great place to eat out or bring home for a great stay at home dinner!!!
This was my first time here or at any Japanese restaurant. I was with a group for my sister's birthday and everything was amazing except for our server. We weren't a gigantic party. There were 8 of us and, yes, 8 is a semi-big party, but when I was a server, I served bigger parties with less problems than she had. First when we ordered, after confirming she got my order correct, she gave me a dirty look and then when I handed her my menu, she snatched it from me. I was nothing but polite to her, so I'm not sure why she was doing this. The orders came and it was all good, except she didn't even bring my mom's Chicken Crunch Roll until everyone was pretty much done eating. At first we thought that she just didn't put hers in. When she went to refill my drink (which I ordered a coke while most people ordered tea or water), she didn't even ask what I was drinking or if I had tea, what kind it was, she just grabbed my glass and started pouting unsweet tea into it, which I probably never wouldve ordered. Sweet tea or half sweet/half unsweet but never full out unsweet. I tried to tell her I had coke, not tea, but she was already filling my glass before I could get words out. I just took it and drank it until she came back to refill where she FINALLY asked what tea I had so I told her I had coke, not tea. She just said "oh", grabbed my glass, refilled it and set it on the table. Then when checks came, I didn't even know she had grabbed the thing with my cash and card in it because I was talking to my niece, but she came back and asked how I wanted to arrange it. But when she came back with the card and receipts and all, she put my oldest niece's in front of kids (what the heck) and gave mine to my oldest niece. She didn't even ask whose was whose before just setting them down. Finally when I asked for a to-go coke just before we left, she acted like I asked her for the moon.
The food was good and the Hibachi chef was amazing. A few people in our group did Hibachi. Only problem I had was our server.
It has been a long while since we ate at a tempanyaki place. Took the wife and kids to celebrate their birthdays. Yes, 3 Feb birthdays!!! Atmosphere was great, clean place and a lot of space. Food was amazing! Flavor in every bite!!! Portions was way too much! I was very surprised and happy at the portion sizes for the cost. Next time, we won't order as much...lol! Our chef was amazing!!! He was energetic, funny, and seasoned the food very well!!! This is a must try spot! It can be pricey so look ahead online at their menu to get an idea of what you'd like or try their lunch specials during the week. For a family of 6 and every one getting their own meal, plus some sushi spent $200+. Definitely will be back!!!
On a Sunday morning before noon, we arrived at Shogun just as they opened, and our party of five was prepared to be seated at our Hibachi-style table. After we place our drink orders, Jimmy, our chef, arrives right away. He was really amusing and excellent at what he did. Everyone liked seeing Jimmy prepare our steak and shrimp as well as our delicious soup and salad for lunch. Will be back for sure next time.
Always a fun show for the kids in the group.
My wife never wanted to eat at these types of places because of her experience that 'everything tastes like oil' at the other popular franchise. I finally got her to try Shogun and to her surprise, she liked the food!
Took my 9 year old granddaughter there...so much fun!! Noticed most all the tables had families with small children. I never thought of it as a place to take young children but it is. Some of the younger children were a bit frightened of the flames though. Food was very very good. Some of us had steak and some salmon. Very good.
This was my first visit to a Japanese restaurant. I am glad Katy, TX has great restaurant diversity. I really enjoyed my order and drinks. However, servers were a little bit slow.
