This is your old school diner. One lady at a flat top grill making that comfort food. Lots of regulars ordering stuff not on the menu and leaving happy. Place is a bit cramped and outdated, but, you know that before you go in. Decent sized portions for a reasonable price. Get the bacon, it was amazing.

This straight ol' fashion loveable greasy comfort food. Go back in time with this restaurant and enjoy the atmosphere and food. Enjoy

Perfect. Really large portions of excellent fresh made food. So the breakfast should be.

Liked the breakfast. The bacon is so delicious. But they need to improve the customer service in their business. Maybe the first step to do so is learning how to smile! I found them all grumpy! :)
Overall, a charming and cozy place.

Best greasy spoon in the Kent Valley area. Trust me, I'm an expert.
Same ownership for a few decades from what I understand. Owner still working the floor!
Amazing price value for the food and they have no issues customizing orders.
Definitely my favorite joint in the area.

I have went to this restaurant for years since my children were little because they have good food, prices are a little high for the greasy spoon atmosphere, motif is late 60's to early 70's, Avocado Green, Burnt Orange, and Earthtones. I boycotted going there for a year because I was served moldy toast, and owner only offered to replace it with more toast, would you want more after being served that? Think not, she should have cut my bill in half, or at least deducted beverage price, blamed it on small business, how about no business, if you treat a regular that way, loyalty should be rewarded, my boyfriend was even madder about it than I was, he was also a regular, he went begrudgingly only twice after, and only had coffee, and pancakes, never toast again ever!

Cozy classic diner. No frills, but clean and food is good and portions/pricing are great. Nearly empty when I got there but people trickled in as I ate and you could tell they have a lot of long time regulars. Service was good and friendly.

Sara's closed permanently, s of Oct. 1, 2018, due to the owner retiring. Apparently to be replaced by Mega Star Chinese Barbeque sometime soon.

This place was mediocre. When we drove up the hostess/server was outside smoking a cigarette. Sara's is nothing to brag about. We only tried the burgers which were average. Maybe we'll give this place another try but breakfast this time.
I grew up in this coffee shop along with my siblings I'm pretty sure they still have my sisters high chair in there. Kim is amazing and I wish I could stop in more often. A lot of good memories here and food has always been good.

First and last visit. Went to Sara's for the first time Sunday. Had to wait 10 mins for a menu and a further 15 for someone to tke our order. I ordered eggs and bacon with french toast on the side. When it came I was surprised to see the bacon it was very much like jerky or shoe leather the eggs were not even mixed up very well. I dont think you can even call the potoes hash browns they were a great blob of mashed just fried up and not very well. The french toast was not the thick kind you would expect but just flat bread awash in too much butter. The coffee was strong enough to grow hair on your chest but it was hot. the toast was good.

Letter sent in from customer. Dear Sara's management,
I've really enjoyed eating at the place. It has good prices for such an abundance of food.I've really enjoyed the He Man and thought that I should share my experience with you. The only complaint that I have is the seats, they seem to be sinking down a bit but that's something I can handle. The greatness of the place is the waitresses, they've been doing a good job at keeping with the customers, I haven't had any problems with them. The food is great and makes me want to keep coming back for more, it's made pretty fast for its deliciously great taste. I like to keep things nice and short, so I'll wrap this up for now thank you for being the breakfast I look forward to. (Thank you for the letter, I felt it should be shared)

The Place to be. Sara's is NOT a chain restaurant. The food is fresh NOT reheated out of a box... The good neighbor atmosphere is tough to find anywhere; I challenge you to find anything like it within 200 miles. As for the negative statements on this site; if you are uncomfortable with a neighbor like atmosphere maybe you should stick to the cafeteria food at the institution you just got out of. SARA'S COFFE SHOP IS THE BEST PLACE TO BE!

Yum!. This has become a regular stop for my husband and I. The staff are friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I am in love with the burger dip at Sara's. They, quite possibly, have the best au jus in the west.

While the decor is dated, we have always found Sara's to be very clean. And who cares if the decor is dated?? We go there for the food and the friendly staff!

Bottom line? We will be back again, and again, and again...

Sara's coffee shop has a homey, casual environment. My family and I visit often. Thick bacon. Buttery pancakes. Hot coffee. That is the smell that greets you as you enter, but you're not really impressed until you see them in front of you. The staff is nice and the food is good. I would recommend.

Old fashioned diner. If you're looking for an old fashioned two-lane road style diner; like the kind that had calendars and maybe fish on the walls, this is your kind of place. Sara's is our favorite breakfast place when we're in the valley. The prices are very reasonable and the serving sizes generous.

Seating is a bit limited, but so far we've always found a table open. This is NOT assembly-line Dennys style. This is the kind of diner from the 50's and 60's. We LOVE it!!!

We went there once. I wanted to turn and leave when we got there because it was so filthy but my friend wanted to stay so we did. It is a low grade diner with lousy food. Very bad.

Great place for home cooked breakfast. Can't go wrong with Sara's Special, Eggs Benedict, or Ribeye Stealk and Eggs. Eat here often. Friendly owners and plenty of vintage Car talk.

Dont mess with my hashbrowns. Just got done eating at SARAS COFFEE shop and what a dirty filthy place to eat,I ordered breakfast and the hashbrowns arrived burnt brown side down so I could not see the burnt potatoes,U took one bite and it had a burnt greasy taste and when the waiter came by I said I would like some other hashbrowns these I cant eat He said they are not burnt and got rude and walked away i said could I get some more he said they are not burnt and sneered at meand about this time an asian lady sara the owner comes and I say the same to her and she actully picked up my plate and passed it around the patrons sitting at tables asking them if they thought it was burnt and most said that is the way they cooked them here. I had t;hem before they were good this time they taste burnt. I say let me pay you for everything but the hashbrowns and she says no you owe full price cause I now will bring you more hashbriwns but by then I did not want any more I felt my plate of food was contaminated when she passed it around the joint. She said you pay full amount or I call cops because I tried to remedy the problem.I paid her and left. SARAS do not eat there as the plate and forks were not clean the service is rude and the food is not fit for a dog.

Nice staff. It's a little cramped but a nice little blue collar restraunt. Recomend the heman for breakfast.
