The Spicy Pork Tamales were delicious. They also have great house margaritas.

First time here. Fantastic server who checked on us often, he was wonderful. Fantastic steak bowl with all the fixings, it had a lot of flavor to it! I would love to come back and try the other menu items!

Loved the vibe, the vibrant colors, the food, and the rosemary blackberry marg!! My friends and I loved the high tops too. It was a great time. The waitress was a bit slow though. So not many water refills or attention to us throughout the time there. Also definitely spent more than we thought it would cost honestly…

This is not a traditional Mexican restaurant but the atmosphere is great. They have a sit-down bar and outdoor seating. I ordered the 3 taco meal and it turned out good. I wish the food was hotter and not lukewarm. The tacos were interesting because the tortilla was a little thicker and they only used one instead of two and it held up well. I usually just order cilantro and onions on my tacos, but this place had its toppings for each taco so I went along with it, and I was surprised with the results 😅

We have eaten lunch (during the week) at TG three times now. EACH time, our food, drinks and service has been OUTSTANDING. I very rarely can rate most of the places in Lake County with such confidence. Street-sized tacos can be ordered individually - and are generous and perfectly seasoned. We have tried appetizers, margaritas and the soups - all excellent. I don't know how they pack so much flavor into the marinated Barbacoa - it is the best I've had. Although we have not visited the original location (in Winnetka?) but, we will soon. Highly recommended!

Absolutely the best taco spot in the Chicago Area. Try the Bacon & Chorizo. Fernanda was an absolute sweetheart. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in town. Best Tacos West of Akron Ohio and East of the Mississippi

Stopped by on a whim and was very, very surprised. The outside is quite attractive with an outside eating area. The inside is nice and clean with plenty of seating. We ordered chips and salsa, Pollo with Mole, and the Steak Burrito Fajita. The chips are homemade (as expected) and very good. The chicken in the Pollo with Mole was super tender. The mole was rich. It came with homemade corn tortillas. The Steak Burrito is filled with fajita fillings, so steak, green and red peppers, and onions. The flour tortilla was filled and grilled giving the whole a nice smokey flavor. It was one of the very best burritos I have ever had. Look over my reviews. I have eaten a lot of burritos. They have a creamy salsa verde that is great, a very nice Roja sauce, and a hot sauce that is no joke hot. Our server was great and the whole experience was a great one. Will be back soon.

If you’ve driven by this place a million times but never tried it, definitely try it! This is fantastic gourmet food! The tacos are amazing (I love the Chorizo taco and the Fish tacos) and the atmosphere is very nice. Given the location, you might not expect much but try it! And the margaritas are the best we’ve ever had. I’d give it ten stars if I could.

This place has probably the best blood orange margarita I’ve ever had in my life! It’s the first thing I order as we walk in. The food is awesome too! Had dinner with my fam and on my last bite there was a long black hair in it…that’s the only reason why I gave 4. Will still come back…gross or not

I've been a fan of Tacos Guanajuato (aka Tacos G) in Kildeer since it first opened a few years ago. The decor is bright & cheerful, staff are always helpful and friendly, and the food is delicious. I typically will get an Al Pastor taco at any new place I try as that's sort of my benchmark, and because it typically packs more flavor than some other typical offerings at Mexican & taco places. The Al Pastor taco at Tacos G is one of the best around, with an incredibly savory sauce and of course including the signature grilled pineapple on top, along with shredded jicama, some diced onion and cilantro. The tortillas are flavorful without being greasy, and they usually hold together, which I appreciate since nobody wants their taco filling to fall through while they're eating. One of my other favorites is their lamb taco: The lamb is very tender and slightly crisp, and it's served on a flour (instead of corn) tortrilla with cilantro and a sauce that's similar to tzatziki, and a bit of feta-style cheese, lending a Greek flavor to the whole thing. Every once in a while, Tacos G will have a duck taco on the menu, which is always a treat (I love duck!) but today, I had the duck taco and it was different than the last time I remember having it. Served with shaved cucumber, carrots, pickled onions, black sesame seeds and a homemade tamarind sauce, this was, without question, the best taco I've ever had in my life. Savory, slightly sweet, a bit of tang, and a wonderful element of heat - all in combination with a very tender duck and the crunch of the carrots and cucumber - made for an exceptional taco that can hold its own against the best anywhere. I'm hopeful that the owners of Tacos G will consider making this version of their duck taco a permanent menu item. I should mention, too, that other things I've had here are excellent as well, including their chips & salsa, guac, tamales and even their salsas (both red & green). If you haven't tried it, do yourself a favor and go, soon!

Food was first class. Service was slow. The Cochinita taco was moist, succulent and savory. Slow stewed to perfection. The fish and lamb tacos were similarly good. Made with care and attention. I'd bet everything on the menu is great. Taking a star off because the service was slow and absent. Came in during lunch when speed should be a priority. It took 10 minutes for someone to take my order and 25 more more for the food to come. $26.46 before tip for 3 tacos and a beer, so not exactly the most value priced around.

Highly recommend! Legitimate and authentic Mexican flavor! I am from Michoacan, a neighboring state of Guanajuato and by far the most authentic Mexican flavor I've had in the US! Awesome food and great service! I ordered the milanesa (beef) and a shrimp taco. They both were delicious! The torta is made by the toasted bread😍, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside 😘. The milanesa was also really great without the nerves or fat you may get in other milanesas. I really liked the torta didn't automatically include sour cream, the combination of ingredients (as pictured) was perfect! The portions were great as well. The shrimp taco was made by the tortillas 😍 (I think made in house), overall great taste with good quality shrimp and again the other ingredients were delicious! Also highly recommend the horchata & tres leches 😋! I loved they were just right, not extra sweet and the tres leches wasn't soaked. My fiance ordered the chicken torta and a steak taco, also delicious. Also, I loved the cups used were straw free and the plastic cup was industrially compostable ♻️💚

Been here many times and will keep going back. Love this restaurant… Margaritas are the best I’ve ever had. Food is really good. Ambience is nice. Only downside is service is usually slow, but I’ve noticed an improvement.

My favorite place for “Cuban” tortas, the whole food menu is delicious, it keeps me coming when I’m around the area. The servers also are so nice and attentive. I do recommend this place.
