Great Ice Cream!. Worth the wait in line. Open seasonally
Better than the Movie. That pizza is bad ass good. Me and the family were in town this past weekend for a gathering of old people and we tried this little Mom and Pop place. Glad we did. The first night we only got ice cream, it was ice cream no biggie, but the next night the Greek salad and pizza were super good. Crust was perfect NY style and the cheese and toppings fell into our mouths with ease. The sauce on the pie was a bit sweeter then normal and the garlic might be a bit much for some but for my bride, whom long time Hockeyfoodie fans know is from Buffalo, the pie was just like that in western NY. (True pizza fans know that Buffalo pizza is much better then NYC pizza.)
Anyway, stop on in, you'll be glad you did.
Great ice cream. Didn't try the pizza, but the ice cream is first rate. Awesome on a cone.
Stromboli is great but made to order so wait is 20 minutes. Had the vegetarian weed eater pizza and thought it was okay. Really expected better toppings. Ice cream is AMAZING though and unique. Loved the coffee (sorry can't remember name), banana cream, and key lime pie!!! Look for a coupon in those free outer banks magazines. Used one for $2 off large carry out pizza and saw one for buy double waffle cone and get second at half price. They make the waffle cones too so this place smells heavenly.
Hard to not like home made ice cream, I had black cherry and key lime flavor. Both were very good, nice service too. I haven't ate and regular food there but the ice cream is good
Pizza was good, the homemade ice cream is excellent!
Went for ice cream and we were not disappointed. The ice cream flavors were different and good. We got chocolate mandarin orange and birthday cake. Also the lady working there was very nice.
What better way to finish of a dinner than to get some ice cream. American Pie as the moniker implies also sells pizza, but my main draw to this establishment is their ice cream. Today's two scoops for me consisted of Cuban Coffee Oreo and Key Lime Pie. The Cuban Coffee Oreo was very chocolatey with bits and pieces of Oreo cookie mixed in, the Key Lime Pie tasted just like the pie along with bits and pieces of Graham Cracker. The consistency of the ice cream is perfect, it is smooth and not too dense. If you have a craving for some great ice cream, you'll want to give American Pie a try.
Quality Food, Very Filling!. Some friends and I stopped here today on our way back from vacation. We had gone here last year on the way down to Hatteras Island, and we were in the mood for some quality pizza again.
I had a few slices of the Weed Eater, which was loaded with vegetables and really gooey, stringy mozzerella. They also have a quality selection of ice cream, 16 flavors ranging from fruity to chocolaty. I had a scoop of key lime pie and a scoop of coffee Oreo, both really hit the spot.
A real nice aspect of this restaurant is the outdoor seating; there aren't a large amount of tables, but it's relatively spacious and shaded. It's a really nice experience to be able to sit outside on a nice day and enjoy a slice and a scoop or two.
I went just for the homemade ice cream. there was a small selection, but filled with good choices. I have "key lime pie". it was yum-tastic.
What a fantastic beach staple, a takeaway pizza and ice cream shop!! We decided to eat under the wooden canopy with ceiling fans and picnic tables. We got slices of supreme pizza which were both delicious and a side of a scoop of ice cream. The rum raisin was super creamy and not overly sweet. The coffee oreo was fabulous. The weather was beautiful and we could have sat in the big Adirondack chairs and chatted all afternoon. Super friendly service, very clean facility, with a separate bathroom house across the parking lot. We will come back again!!
Large Pizza was really good! Crust wasn’t so heavy, sauce tasted tasty and fresh, and the cheese is delicious. We ended our dinner with ice cream and I would come back. I’m very happy with my experience.
We got there just after opening and Andrea was happy to hook us up with fresh sandwiches and sides. I had the Shrimp Po'boy and fries... it was awesome. Crispy and tender shrimps with a pepper sauce, lettuce and diced tomatoes. Definitely recommend.
Wow…. Being from Buffalo, NY the home of the world's best pizza and wings…. I’ve been to many places outside of NYS and none have ever came close to a pie from Buffalo….. But folks, this place is close. You could have given me a pie from this place at home and I would have thought it was from home. We ordered 2 large pies and some fries. Everything was great. The staff was friendly. The ONLY problem we had was, they didn’t know how to cut a pizza in squares!!!! They wouldn’t even try. I was upset for a minute, but the taste of the pizza erased that lol. They also serve ice cream which was good also.
Fabulous shrimp po boy and arguably the best ice cream I've had on the East side of the United States. Will probably be returning a few times this week during our stay.
Great food and ice cream! Reasonable prices, friendly staff. Plenty of outdoor seating for those who want to eat there.
The staff and service was very friendly, even at closing time. The place was extremely clean, inside and outside. There were unique ice cream flavors to choose from. I found $15 for a regular size cheeseburger and fries to be expensive. This appears to be owned by the great seafood restaurant, Millers, next door. While the food, burger and fries were good, they certainly didn't justify the neighboring restaurant pricing.
American Pie in OBX offers good food, with the Mahi Mahi fried basket being a decent choice. The homemade ice cream offers a variety of flavors, but overall, It's a relaxed and enjoyable spot for a casual dining experience.
Very welcoming staff, place looks very organized! I ordered wings and a cheer wine the kitchen got it out to me very quickly, i opened the box to see steam and extra ranch it looked amazing. After trying one wing, i couldn’t get enough. Everyone needs to go to this place and try their wings at least once in their lifetime!!
On vacation from Illinois. Not really a sit down place to eat, they have a few tables outside. We ordered take out pizza. It was good. Better than I get at home for less money. Service was fast 15 to 20 minutes at home it often takes 45+. As for the atmosphere it was fine. I was a tad worried that they told me the pick up window was out when it was about to rain but they let us pick up inside. I would eat there again.
