$31 per person is an awesome price for this all-you-can-eat gourmet seafood buffet. All the food tasted fresh and gourmet and I can't wait to go back here.

Great, if you like the "All you can eat" places. For most families, a trip to the beach will involve one trip to an "All you can eat" restaurant to get crab legs and such. While these restaurants are not really my favorite, Captain George's does it better than any of the other ones on the Outer Banks. In my opinion, these types of restaurants need to be rated on whether the food is worth the wait, and whether the restaurant is clean, the food is cooked well, and the buffet is well-stocked.

Depending upon when you go, the wait at Captain George's can be lengthy. My tip is to go late, not early. Arrive about 7:30 on a weekday, not a check-in day, and the wait is minimal.

The buffet is extensive and features a good mix of seafood, including crab leags, and non-seafood choices. Personally, I haven't sampled the non-seafood choices. Seems kind of counter-productive!

The food was cooked well and the shrimp and crab legs were easy to separate from the shell. The supporting cast of fried seafood, steamed clams, etc. were pretty good. The desserts are a mixed bag. I would say that they are about what you would expect from a place serving thousands a day.

The cost is a little above the other restaurants of this category, but the quality and cleanliness of the restaurant warrents it.

I have dealt with Captain George's for twenty years. There are no other restaurants that make more items from scratch and use as many fresh ingredients as they do. The kitchens are the cleanest and best run kitchens I have encountered . I have dealt with thousands of restaurants .

Best seafood buffet in the area. Yes it is expensive but you get great food and the best snow crab legs possible.

We had quite the experience enjoying dinner at this fine establishment. For those who are very hungry, go for the extensive seafood buffet that has everything you could want and more along with entrees, dessert, and sides. They have a separate menu for specified items if you would like a normal seafood dinner which was also exquisite.

Service was prompt and friendly. We were seated in just a few minutes after arrival (party of 2), we were informed of their buffet procedure and ordered drinks. Food quality was well above average. Nothing cold and everything consistently refilled. Tons of options on the buffet for people who don’t like seafood as well. Very impressed with this seafood buffet overall. Will definitely come back again!

Captain George's offers a good overall experience with its all-you-can-eat buffet, featuring delicious crab legs, steamed shrimps, and a wide variety of other steamed and fried fish options. The large desserts bar is a definite plus. However, the initial interaction with the general manager and assistant could have been more polite, as they seemed somewhat unfriendly. Despite that, the overall experience was positive, and I would recommend it.

The food was excellent, we definitely ate our money's worth!!! Our server was very friendly and and excellent on telling us the procedure of the buffet beings we have never been there before! Will definitely go back!! The only reason for the 4 stars is the seating my girlfriend and I aren't huge but not small either and the put us at table in the corner which was hard to get in out and around the other people at the other tables

Our first time visiting. $50 per person plus the cost of drinks. Well worth it!! Buffet had plenty of options to choose from. I favored the crab legs and steamed shrimp. While my husband tried some of everything I think lol. Desserts were extremely good as well. Staff was friendly and tended to us rather quickly with keeping our table clear. This was our first vacation in 3 yrs and we wanted our first dinner to be a treat for us. We didn't go wrong in our selection. Thank you.

Great ending to our vacation. Crab legs kept coming and were always fresh. Salad bar was on point. Desserts could have been better and they should consider adding ice cream to the options. No fried chicken unfortunately but overall it was great and we would do it again.

I was preparing for the worst after reading some of the reviews. Now keep in mind this is an all you can eat buffet, like Golden Corral but only with tasty seafood. This is not a 5 star resturant in NYC. The food had flavor, food was hot, buffet items were well stocked, plates were clean and my drink was refilled before it got to the 1/2 way point. I could not ask for or expect more from this style resturant dining. As for price, I heard some people near my table complaining that $49.99 was to much for all you can eat, which also had great tasting snow crab legs on the buffet. I dont think so, inflation has increased the price of everything, even my hostess cupcakes went up 64% in the last 2 years and nobody is going to work for minimum wage. I felt full and happy after eating here and would recommend it to anyone who is an all you can eat type person.

Overall great! The waitress kept my drink topped off and the old plates cleared, and taught my 8 y.o. daughter some tricks for dealing with a crab leg🤣 It's a cool place, quite pricey considering the casual vibe. You'd really have to be gluttonous to get your money's worth here. It would be nice if you could order meals as lower priced standalones as opposed to the buffet, but I guess since they're always packed and I plan on returning it is a strategy that's working for them. Definitely worth the visit!

Captain George's is a bit pricey but the food was excellent. All different types of seafood with 21 different homemade desserts to tingle even the most pickey of taste buds. Our waitress Lyla was wonderful. She was friendly, understanding because of the baby with us, and attentive. Clearly the best example of an employee this place would want to keep around by all means. It's always a pleasure to come to this place, and I look forward to coming back here on our next vacation. As for right now, I'm so full of crab I could explode! Thank you!!

The food was delicious. I got my money's worth in crab legs alone. It was well worth the $49.99 I paid.

We had a large party come in and get served by the best server. She was on top of her game, super friendly and helpful. No one’s drink was ever empty, everything we needed was there before we could even think to ask for it. Food was delicious also, and incredibly filling. Well worth the price just for the seafood alone.

Nice place for AYCE crab legs. The service was excellent. Just don't compare it to the MB seafood buffets. You might be disappointed. Overall, it's a good place to eat. It's worth a try.

Captain George’s is not your average seafood buffet. All of the seafood is very fresh, seasoned, and it tasty. Along with the inside atmosphere their are many chandeliers and other details that make you feel luxurious while enjoying your seafood. However, it is very expensive 47$ for a seafood buffet so you should go on a special occasion.
