BBQ was very tasty. Cooked several different ways. Had platter with 3 styles : pulled, sliced & wet ribs. Ribs melted in mouth. Used one of the 6 sauce choices on the pulled & sliced. Great taste. Another with us had the chicken and all at table had a taste. Exceptional. Garlic bread done right, didn't overpower. Lot of food. Consider plate sharing.
First time visiting Sonny’s had the pulled pork lunch platter which was very good, excellent baked beans and sweet tea will definitely go back again.
GREAT food, huge serving sizes, an fabulous service. So glad I stopped off. I got a giant platter and had enough food to eat THREE times!

Sonny's BBQ has the very best waitress Courtney and it is just an awesome place to eat. Everything was clean and inviting. The staff was so helpful to it's out of towners like me and my family. They accommodated my mother's needs since she is in wheel chair. The salad bar was nice, neat, and well filled. Our server's name was Courtney a really nice blonde headed young woman who made sure drinks were filled and needs were met. Thank you for hiring people like Courtney and others there at Sonny's BBQ in KIngsland, GA.
Quick bite on my way to Florida. Wait staff were all friendly and helpful. The ribs, beans and cole slaw were very good. Topped off with banana pudding. Pretty good salad bar available too.

Title: Sweet Barbecue with Some Hits and Misses
My wife and I, being from Texas, were curious to see how the barbecue at Sonny's BBQ in Kingsland, Georgia would measure up. We left with mixed feelings.
The barbecue here is distinctly sweet, which is quite different from the tangy and savory flavors we're used to in Texas. The barbecue sauce, beans, coleslaw, and dry rub all leaned heavily towards the sweet side. While it's not our usual preference, we could appreciate the unique twist.
One highlight was the chicken. It was incredibly juicy and flavorful, even extending to the chicken wings. Unfortunately, the brisket was a bit too fatty for our liking, which was a letdown. On the brighter side, the ribs and pulled pork were both delightful and made up for it.
One peculiar thing we noticed was the absence of regular sausage, only offering jalapeno cheddar sausage. When we inquired about it, we received a somewhat puzzled reaction. Perhaps it's a Texas thing to expect a variety of sausage options.
In summary, our experience at Sonny's BBQ was a mix of sweet flavors and hits and misses. If you have a sweet tooth and enjoy unique barbecue experiences, this place might be worth a visit. However, if you're a die-hard fan of traditional Texas barbecue, you might find some elements here a bit too different for your taste.
Overall, we'd rate our experience at 3.5 stars. It's not our top barbecue spot, but it's worth trying for the adventurous palate.
All 15 of us enjoyed our meal. I loved the beans, ribs and chicken.
Our waitress could have been friendlier. I mentioned to her that it was my daughters birthday and she just ignored me. No little birthday desert came out for her. We even had birthday balloons!

Tammy was our server and she was absolutely amazing! She was super kind and very attentive to our table. Our food was delicious and delivered to us very quickly. The restaurant was very clean and very enjoyable to eat at.
I went to this Kingsland Ga Sonny's. In the past Fernandina Beach had a Sonny's. But now it's a rental store. So I took State Road 200 to Highway 17 North to I95 North to 40 in Kingsland GA to Sonny's. And got this 1/4 lunch dark meat only with fries and beans. And a slice of garlic bread. The Beans were good but I would have liked them a little more loose than just a pile of beans. The chicken at 1:42pm was getting dry. I like the chicken to be moist. The Fries were very good. The Garlic bread was OK. I have had better at other Sonny's. I timed myself as soon as I sat down to when I ordered my food And my Water came first then my food made my table in just under 6 minutes. Not bad. The waitress was nice and I enjoyed my lunch. One way from Fernandina Beach Fl to Kingsland GA Sonny's is 25.5 miles. Then I headed back to Jacksonville Florida my Home. This is how much I like Sonny's over most other Bar B Q places. I will eat at others but Sonny's is my place to get good Bar B Q.
Tammy always remembers my daughter’s dietary restrictions and helps us get great food she can eat without worries. The food is always fast and satisfying portions. I think I get better deals at Sonny’s than most of the other BBQ restaurants around.
Tammy was super friendly, was quick with a refill, and was just very pleasant. This is quickest I have ever gotten my food in 40 years of coming to Sonny’s. If you come here be sure to ask for Tammy!

Clean place with delicious food. Properly cooked corn nuggets & fries without an after taste are a very rare thing to find these days but this Sonny's location stepped up. The only negative is that the beans are a bit watery & I miss having mild in a bottle instead of the little packages but aside of that it's all extremely good. Even the wait staff is professional and not overly into checking up.
Food is usually really good, but it’s our favorite waitress Tammy that keeps us coming back. We never have to ask for a refill or anything else, she is always a step ahead of you and so on top of everything. It you want good food with GREAT service , stop in for some BBQ and ask for TAMMY!
Carly Jasman was great! She provided fast service and was polite. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and answered all of our questions.

Good was ok, could’ve been hotter and had a little more flavor. Table was sticky when we sat down, cleaned it ourselves. Maybe saw the server a few times but she was very nice, just could’ve been around more for how empty the restaurant was.
Tammy was one of the best waitresses we’ve had in a long time. She was very polite and funny. Service was amazing. First time here and definitely will be back.

I had the smoked wings and ribs, sweet tea, and banana pudding for dessert. The meat is tender and slow cooked to perfection. Not dry at all and delicious! I had the sweet potato for a side and it was yummy with the cinnamon butter...decadent really. Didn't really NEED a dessert but I figured if everything else was this tasty the dessert would be as well...Spot on-I enjoyed the banana pudding as much if not more than the meal. Great tasting fare; I was very happy with that and the service. 8/10 (alcohol would make this place better imho).
Mrs Tammy is the best server! We always enjoy seeing her. Very nice, goes above and beyond for you. Great meal as always!
