Exactly what you'd expect from an original NC Eastern BBQ joint: simply good food, delightfully friendly staff and a cultural museum atmosphere. The "pig in a pup" BBQ sandwich is traditional pulled pork in a ginormous sliced hush puppy. And don't forget the banana pudding! Go for it!
Wonderful buffet and menu items. The locals rave about this restaurant and so glad we listened...The food was delicious and everyone had a smile. The staff was exceptional. It's like sitting a grandma's dining table everytime you walk in.
I was a guest at the Christmas party for triple R electric that was held at Kings. I was quite impressed with the staff. They were very quick with anything that was needed. They were very pleasant. It was a wonderful experience. I would recommend their facility for any type banquet or party. It was
Our Southwood Class of 1964 met at Kings Restaurant for reunion. Had a great time mingling with my old classmates. Looking forward to our November reunion!
Stopped in as it’s been forever since I’ve had any Eastern NC barbecue. Folks were real nice and the food did not disappoint. Volume of food was great too! Real good price. Didn’t do the buffet as we don’t do those anymore since the old Ryan’s days. But a little shook that the buffet was next to the
Have been going to this establishment since I was a kid. Excellent barbecue in a now rather large mom and pop family restaurant. You can't go wrong if you want good comfort food.
Good barbecue, liked the cornbread and hush puppies, shrimp on the buffet was tasty. Banana Pudding wasn't my favorite. Coleslaw and potato salad was good
The meeting space was perfect for our meeting with about 80 people. Food was served in a buffet style and was excellent. They had a projector in the ceiling so I was able to hook my computer to it to show a slide presentation. Staff was very helpful in setting it up.
Stopped in for the lunch buffet on a friend's recommendation. Arrived at lunch opening time. The food was hot and fresh. The selection was pretty good. BBQ, fried chicken, and shrimp with lots of sides. Desserts were available along with a soft serve ice cream machine. The food was tasty. Not t
King's has bogo pecks of oysters on Wednesday nights! Nice size oysters steamed any way you like! Great shucking service at your table. You don't have to sit at the bar.
Food was good, Eastern style BBQ, was just as expected.(perfect) fried shrimp, and fish were good too. Turkey and Dressing with gravy on the Buffet was awesome. The restaurant is a little dated on the inside. Went for the Sunday Buffet. Most of staff was hard working with the exception of the cashie
This is one of the best BBQ experiences in NC. Stop in for the buffet, as I do every time I pass through Kinston. The comparative advantage of NC BBQ is sides. The buffet gives you an opportunity to try them all. Find chicken, pulled pork, fried shrimp, collard greens, casseroles, mash potatoes and
Kinston landmark for BBQ heaven. Gracie was incredible server
This place has the BEST fried chicken. Everyday has different specials. Everything I have had at this restaurant is so good! The staff is very friendly. If you love home cooking, this is the best place! I’m looking forward to the oyster bar opening back up for oyster season. Mmmmm mmm (as my grand
We stopped for the buffet going through town. It was the wrong night. But we ordered their fried chicken. It was fantastic. Sides needed more seasoning.
best BBQ we have eaten during our vacation in North Carolina...staff is wonderful and the food can't be beat. We ordered the regular size plate and could barely finish. Managed to squeeze in sweet potato pie and banana pudding. If we are ever in the area again this will be a return restaurant.
County style comfort food at it's best. The BBQ, popcorn shrimp, and fried chicken on the buffet we're all delicious. The collards are to die for. Top it all off with scratch made banana pudding. All for about $2 more than a fast food burger and fries. King's gets my strongest recommendation.
Yes, Went here after our Apostle ( Lester Billings) engagement. and the restaurant was lit. Food and SVC was excellent. But the ladies rm needs a serious remodel...
