We are out of towners from Illinois and stopped by your place tonight for dinner. The Margaritas, salsa, queso and Mahi Mahi Tacos were astounding. The view really put the cherry on top of the whole meal. The waitress we had on 5/30 around 8 PM (dont recall her name) was very friendly and energetic, thanks for a great experience!
This was great tasting food and really well priced for La Jolla. I had a dish called the Baja Bowl and it was the best meal I've had in awhile.
Food was delicious! Very Family friendly! Our waiter was a Very nice gentleman, very friendly and professional, Service was amazing, drinks were really good.
The burger was awesome, highly recommend it the all burger lovers
I've been coming here since 1995. Hands down my favorite place. From the food to my go to House Margarita. I love that the menu and plating has been updated as well as some seating. I always bring out of towers here. Years ago I even had my Rehearsal dinner for my wedding party.
See you soon!
Great food, great vibe, great staff, will be a regular for sure.
Great margaritas. Hit the spot. Our server was very attentive.

Fajitas were great and the margaritas were fantastic! Great place, great service and great music!
Great atmosphere with even better employees! Home of the $6 beer and shot and the first margarita ever in the USA!!
Great service, food, and La Jamaica margarita is the best!
Amazing food and awesome service. Definitely would recommend!
Best shrimp tacos on the planet, and some killer craft Margaritas!
I've probably gained weight with this place, but food is always goooood and filling, even when you take to go, you get a bag of chips with Salsa.
Best Mexican food in La Jolla, and reasonably priced.
We discovered this little place 10 yrs ago this month, and we still look forward to coming here!!! A nice getaway from the desert!!!
My family's first time over the weekend. Loved the openness of the restaurant. Service was decent. The food is what made it awesome! Very delicious - from the warm chips and fresh salsa to our lunch plates. Everyone was happy and the 4 of us ate for $41! Hard to beat great food and prices! Will go back for sure. :)
Came here on our honeymoon back in 2011. The food was unforgettable! I ordered the chicken enchiladas and it literally melted in my mouth. I thought I'd never come back, until recently we moved out towards this way, and in the midst of looking for something else, we ran into the hotel we stayed in La Jolla and I immediately yelled out "Jose's!!" while my husband was driving lol!! We made a u-turn and dined in. The food was just as delicious as last time. I'm so glad we don't live far from it anymore.
Been going there sense 1966........................
Great time...drinks were great...partied with a wedding group that rolled in...waitstaff was great

Excellent service and the food was delicious as always!
Must stop when in La Jolla. Great Happy Hour and great views. Staff is great...
Best long island iced tea!!!!
Had a delicious lunch here. We sat outside at the counter height seating and had a nice view. Lots of foot traffic coming through on the sidewalk, but the people watching was entertaining. The waiter and overall service were very good. I would definitely go back.
We had a nice time at Jose's. We sat outside and enjoyed the wonderful view. The staff were friendly, and the food delivery was quick. The homemade chips were a nice touch. The restaurant doesn't have many non-acholic drinks, but we enjoyed the Topo-Chico mineral water. I ordered the portobello mushroom fajitas, which I would order again.
Our first time to eat here. We sat inside in the front and had a wonderful breeze and view of the ocean. The menu has plenty of choices. My wife and I each had enchiladas and they were very tasty and filling. The service was excellent. We will definitely return in the future.
We ate on the patio, which was pleasant even on a rainy day. The view from the patio really is lovely! The food came out quickly. The chips were crispy and the salsa was delightfully spicy. The mushroom fajitas were quite tasty and came with warm tortillas (we got the flour ones, which had a great texture).
Where to begin ... the amazing margaritas, the delicious shrimp ceviche, the incredible view of the Pacific Coast?? Nope, we'll start with our attentive server, Vito !! He not only took care of our culinary needs, he was a wonderful conversationalist ! My husband & I enjoyed the evening and made memories of a lifetime :) Gracias!
Lovely Ambience! Good food and service
I would recommend Shrimp Nachos
The view of the ocean is the most attractive part of the dining experience. Beautiful view of the ocean on a Friday evening is best part of the experience. The food portion is generous. The food is pretty good. Originality: the food is traditional Mexican. But I’m not an expert. The bathroom is clean, important for us with small kids. The dessert is delicious. Giant scoops of vanilla ice cream with churros. Yum.

To think we considered waiting 40 minutes at another establishment - glad we found Jose's - We were VERY HAPPY! GO HERE!!
I’m from Chicago on vacation and we visited this place after spending the entire day at the beach and let me just say FANTASTIC!!!!! It was busy but our waiter stayed on top of everything(Spencer is her name) she was so amazing!!! MARGARITAS!!!!!! Top tier really good! I recommend this place great live guitar player! It was literally such a vibe and the view was amazing. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
Great atmosphere and delicious food. Try outdoor and a nice view to the ocean.
Service was great. Food was okay for your average Tex Mex joint. We were not super hungry, so we did the triple dip appetizer and some chicken taquitos. Not sure how it's possible, but the chicken in the taquitos wad dry and yet there was a lot of grease left on our plate. Also, they topped with lots of lettuce and shredded cheese, which is fine, but would have loved some sour cream with them maybe. Salsa was decent - had a slight roasted tomato flavor. We did not have drinks, but others seemed to be enjoying them. I would try again, but maybe order some main dishes.
This place is great. The servers are friendly and the food is excellent. The caddy margarita was fantastic. Possibly the best shrimp tacos I've ever had in my life! Even the chips and salsa were top notch. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare, but it's worth walking a few blocks for.
I have to be fair with this review, We were seated almost right away, but they took too long to come and get our drinks order like 20 min plus, the waitresses were really really rude when We told them We were ready to order, they looked at us like I do not care attitude and left without saying a word, We were about to get up and go when the manager came and apologize for the delay, took our order and was were polite..
We stayed, ordered, if You are used to Mexican food the flavor and taste is good! Is worth your price!
Know You will have to wait and take long to order and get your food!
