This is my first time in San Diego and wanted to try a Mediterranean resturant as an alternative to Mexican and sea food options.
I think it exceeded my expectations and I really liked the meat. However, the brown rice was poorly cooked and was oily. I did not like the samosa as well.
Both location and service were okay.
Always amazing food and fast service. They have a lot of healthy options and the flavor is great! Salmon crispy bowl is my favorite.
We had a catering from this place for our small home party, and the food was FANTASTIC. Meat skewers are so tender that melt in your moth. And I don't recall myself eating rice (!) and potato(!) with such an excitement. Not a single complaint, everything is perfect. Also, placing an order was a great experience itself. Thank you!

I came to Marketplace Grille today for the first time since 2019 and was so happy that it was still the amazing food I remembered. I told my co-worker that outside of my Mom’s home cooked food, this is easily top 3 Mediterranean restaurants in San Diego. I highly recommend the chicken plate or bowl. They cook the chicken kabob on coals, and it’s phenomenal. I would get the herb rice, and always get the side of hummus with the pita bread. It is amazing hummus. Owners and servers are nice, they’ve owned it forever. Great location, very quiet, lots of outdoor tables. This has quickly become my favorite lunch spot in La Jolla.
Every part of the meal is always fantastic. The hummus, the meat, the rice the sharazi salad everything is fresh and delicious. The cherry on top is it’s guilt free cause it’s clean eating.
One of the best places in LJ for a Mediterranean like cuisine. Salads with steak added are great.
Very tasty Humus! Delicious flavorful chicken skewers, steak skewers, potato skewers, and chicken Cesar salad. We did a little of sharing and sampling. Food was great! I'd personally prefer less rosemary, but overall, we really enjoyed lunch . Great aesthetics with alfresca dining on patio. Coffee shop next door and other dining options available in same plaza .
Best place for Mediterranean food in town, and being that it's in La Jolla, almost guarantees a nice cool coastal temperature. Always fresh, always delicious. I've been a patron since 2001; my wife loves this place and will never hesitate to make the drive from Lemon Grove for their chicken skewers plate or Greek salad. May I suggest a personal favorite? Tony's special! I also highly recommend their salmon bowls.
Our last visit, just 2 days ago, was to the Carmel Valley location and they impressively manage to consistently deliver the same delicious culinary experience. The same can also be said for the Mira Mesa location.
Been coming here since I was a kid in the 90s. Amazing food, chicken wraps are the best. Fresh quality ingredients and nice staff. The owner Tony is a great human being, the type of hard working locally owned place you want to support. Always brings out a humus pita plate or soup while I wait. Tony is from Iran cooking up dishes he grew up on
My office gets lunch here pretty frequently and the service and food is always amazing! I love smelling the mesquite grill on my walk over to pick up the food. The Samosas are amazing! The salmon is amazing! The wahoo crispy bowl is Amazing!! The service is Amazing! So simple, so fresh, and always satisfying.
I ordered the combo platter with meat, chicken, roasted tomato, and cucumber salad. Everything is super fresh and the meat is very tender. The man working was really nice, he even hooked me up with some pita bread. It was about 20 bucks which is kind of pricey but then again it is in a expensive neighborhood.
I ordered the filet mignon kabob (temperature medium) and it was so tender and delicious!!!

My favorite Mediterranean restaurant in San Diego. This place is also a local staple. Their kebabs and their rice plates are amazing, but their best item is actually the tabouli. Absolutely amazing. It’s so good I’ve actually ordered extra just to eat with rice, separately at home. The restaurant is small, so I usually get take out, and it’s so hard not to pull over and eat on the drive home!
