Favorite bakery in San Diego by far. Pastries are top notch and always fresh. Love the outdoor benches and atmosphere. They rotate sandwiches so there is always something new to try. Also love the coffee here. My roommates rave about the matcha. As huge matcha snobs they are very picky but love the one here.

Wish they had more room to sit and enjoy their amazing croissants and other baked goods. So delicious, fluffy, and fresh. Definitely recommend it.

First things first, be sure to place an order at least a day ahead so you don’t have to stand in line! Some of the best pastries in the area and in general! We tried the apple hazelnut croissant, honey almond croissant, cranberry orange scone, and a kouign amann. All of them were delicious in their own unique ways: the apple hazelnut croissant was our favorite for sure. It was super soft and fluffy and the filling was flavorful. The honey almond croissant was good but beware that it’s a little sticky and more chewy. Cranberry orange scone was possibly one of the best scones I’ve ever had: moist, flavorful, and just the right amount of buttery sweetness. The kouign amann is a classic that you can’t go wrong with! All in all, this place is amazing and I’ll definitely back.

love love loved their savory scones and english muffins - everything here looks incredible. If I lived closer, I’d be here dangerously often. there was a huge line out the door when I arrived around 11AM on a Saturday, but it moved quickly. Worth the wait.

Excellent pastries - flakey, buttery, not too sweet, with interesting rotating flavors. The halva Kouign Amman is something special. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Incredible pastries. Fresh, flakey, buttery; flavorful but balanced. Wayfarer has the classics, creative deviations and seasonal options. The batch brew was also lovely. The best bakery on the west coast is my bold claim. The bakery itself has a charming exterior and rustic outdoor seating. Indoor displays are very cute + well organized. Service is friendly.

UNBELIEVABLE! The place smells amazing and everything looked so good it was difficult to make a decision what to have. Thank goodness the selection of pastries was somewhat limited (around 10 items) My chocolate croissant was made up of layers of amazing flaky goodness. After my first bite, I started to peel the individual layers off and it was just amazing. While I was eating I was making a mess with all the flaky goodness. Oh yeah, the Chocolate was the perfect flavor just wish there was just a little bit more. My wife had the almond croissant which was a just as good but much sturdier and had a crispier exterior and a sweet almond filling. We exchanged one bite but neither of wanted to share more. My drop coffee was excellent and my wife also got a Chilled Turmeric Ginger Chai Latte in a glass jar that was also very good. Need to go back immediately and try more. The line was out the door but went reasonably quickly. Big kudos to baker Crystal White, so excited to see bring all your experience to Bird Rock! UPDATE - Came back 2 more times. Added the Ham ‘n Cheese Croissant and a Chocolate Chip cookie to things we tried. ALL Awesome.

One of the most amazing bakeries I have been too. Their products are extremely fresh and very tasty. They have a huge assortment of croissants and other breads. We tried the plum hazelnut, chocolate and the savory croissants. They were amazing all of them. I have also heard their almond croissant is great, but it was done by the time I got there. Definitely recommend this place!

Loved the way this little shop looks and the staff were helpful and personable. The tall red head is super cute, might be a regular just to say hello to him. The pastries were delicious and my favorite was definitely the strawberry scone which was the perfect amount of soft and crumbly. I only knock off one star because to me the croissants are a little on the dry side until you hit the very middle with whatever is inside. I did also love the ham and cheese croissant because it was super flavorful despite the top layers being dry. Will be back soon.

Ordered the Chocolate Croissant and Strawberry Pistachio Croissant. The chocolate one was unimpressionable, tasted like every other chocolate Croissant you would find in a bakery and the filling was very minimal. The strawberry Croissant however was super flaky, paired perfectly with a dusting of pistachio and strawberry jam filling was the perfect touch to this item.

Was a bit of a drive from us to get here but we'll worth the drive! Tried three different croissants and they were all awesome! I would say the best we have had in San Diego. Must try bakery in SD! Only negative there is not much space to sit. They have a decent outdoor area but no tables or chairs just a few benches.... why ? Let the people enjoy the croissants on site :)

Fantastic baked goods. Highlights being the savory artichoke and peas and the cinnamon sugar bun. Only note is that we found the pastries to be a bit too flaky and fall apart-y, but nevertheless very delicious!

This place seems to be VERY popular. Saturdays and Sundays there are long queues outside, so go early if you want to skip those. Simply the best bakery and cafe in the city highly recommend.

Fantastic croissants! Awesome bakery, with some of the best croissants I have had. The almond and the apple hazelnut varieties were perfection. Buttery, flaky, sweet, crispy in just the right combination. The chocolate chunk, sea salt cookie was also delicious. Staff was really friendly and welcoming!

Quality: 5/5 Quantity: 3/5 Got the veggie sandwich and it was primarily just bread. 4 stars though because the bread was exceptional! Edit: Sandwiches seem to just be getting better and better. I used to get them just for the bread but now they have become an outright go to sandwich spot for me.

I really love Wayfarer bread & pastry croissants! They are the best in town. They also have seasonal items and daily sandwiches one meat and one vegetarian. I live close by and I often check their website for the daily sandwiches which are really good. The bread is very tasty, but can be a rugged at times. Overall this is a MUST visit.

Nyc'er here and I've had many many croissants. Their Amman was amazing - best I've ever had. Had a few croissants - they were crisply layered and flavors were well balanced. Had a scone but would've skipped it if I had known how good the layered pastries were! Def recommend and will be back!
