Blue Dog Cafe is my absolute favorite! Second to none. The new menu is incredible! Winners of the Louisiana State seafood contest, chefs Ryan Trahan and Sullivan Zant, have made their mark on Lafayette yet again as they once did at the legendary eatery, Dark Roux. These talented young men are artists in the kitchen. I have eaten here multiple times and the food is FANTASTIC!! The service at Blue Dog Cafe is top of the line. Travelers, locals, young and old... ALL can enjoy Blue Dog Cafe on Pinhook!

Made it out to Burger Night! Was my first experience here. I really enjoyed looking at the art, the atmosphere was very cozy. Our servers were great and the burgers were awesome! Our group ordered one of every kind. My favorite was the Mike, with the blue berries and blue cheese! Hella great combination! My second favorite was the Veggie, the eggplant was awesome!! 🍔 And of course beignets to top it all off! 😋

The staff were all very courteous and my server Julie was super nice and very good with all of my questions. I had the Blue Crab Linguini. It was super flavorful but very spicy! You better have a high spice tolerance if you get it. I loved it but if the heat was a little lower it may have been easier for me to notice the garlic, and crab. All in all it was a beautiful and tasty dish. I also had the peach cobbler with brown butter Icecream. Let me tell you, save room for desert people because this will knock your socks off! Both stand alone would be very good but together, amazing! It is a must try. I’m looking forward to trying more here. ADDITION: I did return a couple days later to try the burgers. They have some unique choices. I went for “The Coy” which has Guinness cheese sauce, jalapeño slaw, fried onion rings (on the burger) with a Jameson honey reduction. I had in my mind there would be lots of the cheese sauce but there was very little. The reduction was very good, in the end a very tasty burger. It came with a side, I chose fries. They were shoestring fries which I loved but would’ve been better if they were hot right out of the fryer. These got cold very fast. I added a side of Mac-n-cheese, they used Gruyere cheese, which I love. It was very good as well. Of course I had to have the cobbler again! Man I was stuffed!

Great food and atmosphere. My husband and I came to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. The staff was great and helpful. I got the smoked pecan catfish and it was amazing. My husband ordered the half and half with fried shrimp soft shell crab and crawfish ettufee. We also shared the bread pudding with caramel pecan sauce.

I like this place so much that if I can't get there at lunch I have them deliver uber eats to my hotel room at night. The most incredible crab and corn bisque. The bourbon bread pudding is to die for. Anything you get here is incredible. Plus the art oh my God the art.

The atmosphere is fantastic and the food even better. I was sad when Dark Reaux has closed...leaving my husband and I to find a new date night restaurant. When we heard Ryan Trahan was going to be the head chef at Blue Dog, we knew we found our new place. The BBQ Shrimp and Grits will cause you to dream about it for weeks afterwards. Everything is amazing at Blue Dog.

If I could give six stars I would. I was impressed with Blue Dog Cafe of Lafayette. The half/half and boudin appetizer are some of the best things I’ve ever eaten! Go, and enjoy the neat artwork, and superb Cajun dinning experience.

Blue Dog Cafè is an excellent place to get some great Louisiana food and look at some cool artwork while your at it. The place is what it sounds like, it has beautiful artworks of Blue Dogs. I had the Crawfish Enchiladas, they were spectacular, I would also recommend their ‘Dirty Rice’. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a good dinner while staying in Lafayette.

Super friendly staff. They were very accommodating for me when I went to grab some take out for my sister at 4:30 (Dinner normally starts at 5) after her surgery and they made her dish early for me. My sister was so happy with her food and loved it! The restaurant also lives up to its name and is covered in wonderful blue dog art. I love the restaurants atmosphere and I wish I could have stayed longer. I would definitely recommend them!

Classy feel, but jeans and a polo are totally welcome here. Saw sharply-dressed couple dates and blue-collar guy's night outs sitting at adjacent tables during my visit. Try to accidentally come on a Wednesday burger night, like I did, and you won't regret it. Fantastic gourmet cheeseburgers, and the owner even randomly stopped by our table and asked for a review, which I was happy to provide! Get to this place and enjoy some great food under the watchful yellow eyes of the odd blue dog artwork. As a bonus, if you are a people watcher you'll see some interesting scenery that you would not have expected. Beignets for dessert were an excellent decision, but being two hours away from NOLA, they were a bit crusty and not quite as perfect as the real thing. But that did not slow me down!

I ordered the duck and it was absolutely amazing. They had live music and the gentleman is very talented. I look forward to going back and trying the blackened redfish next time. I wasn't as impressed with our server as I was with our food and the overall feel of the place. Very comfortable and enjoyable.....

What an amazing place to visit and have a fantastic meal. This place was recommended by our host Ravi within 10 minutes of arriving at Lafyette. The atmosphere was cool and the staff were great. The 3 piece band playing cajun music was amazing. An intimate place for a romantic meal. The food was totally tasty and wonderful. Blue Dog pictures adorn the walls of this unique restaurant. I would recommend visiting here. Thank you 😁

In town for business meetings and we just stopped by this place at the recommendation of our local business partner. The decor is unique, the food is awesome and the service screams perfection. They had run out of fish due to shipping/delivery issues. Now that tells you here, fresh is King. I had the BBQ Shrimp and grits. Delicious!

Food is excellent. Staff members are always warm and welcoming. Didn't have to wait on a table or food very long and was piping hot. Local favorites throughout the menu. Will recommend more of our out of town friends to stop in for a bite, drink, good conversation and a great atmosphere. Not to mention the blue dog artwork throughout the restaurant.

Excellent place to just sit down and enjoy yourself. I didn't get to do that however because I was just passing through. Been wanting to visit here for a while now and so glad I did. Great customer care.

We arrived at the end of lunch and the kitchen were nice enough to stay open for us. The shrimp and grits was the best I’ve ever had. Cheesy creamy grits and perfectly cooked shrimp with delicious bbq sauce, my god it was good. Lost a star due to the duck Po-boy. Duck could have been slow cooked and with some extra salad, looked good on the menu, not so much in execution.
