Marcello's has been our "place to go" for special events for several years. It never disappoints. I keep saying I will try something different but always end up ordering my favorite entree, Linguine Tritone which has lobster meat, shrimp, and lump white crab meat in a delicious cream sauce with spinach and mushrooms served over linguine pasta. I always order the 1/2 portion which is basically the lunch portion. With the pasta and the delicious bread that comes out hot and crispy with it, I couldn't possibly eat the larger portion. My one regret is that I am usually too full to order dessert. My husband ordered the Pollo Arrostito (not sure of the spelling) last night, which is roasted chicken served with an excellent risotto. Marcello's has consistent good service and food and an excellent wine menu. We will return.
This place has to be one of the best kept secrets in Lafayette. Absolutely fantastic food and server. Sam was our waiter and we couldn't have asked for anyone more knowledgeable and attentive. Love this place and we will be back.

We had the best experience last night. Our service was wonderful and the food was just delicious.
This is our favorite place to come and eat. We had the steamed mussels with heavenly butter sauteed to perfection. My husband loved his tritone pasta dish.
I loved the trout, could have had more capers. It really was delicious!
We will definitely be back.

My husband I ate here last night for our anniversary and we absolutely adored it. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with lump crab and it was delicious! I also ordered a mojito without rum and it was very refreshing and tasty. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan that came with some spaghetti. He said his food was wonderful! Our waiter was very polite and gave great service. We were given a seat very quickly and our food was served to us in a timely fashion. You guys are doing a great job. Keep it up!

Love the whole experience from the greeting at the door going in, the wonderful service to the absolute best food, to the farewell going out.
I'm here working from New Orleans and really loved the food and hospitality. I sat at the bar and was treated great. I will return.
Great little gem in Lafayette. Went there for my birthday dinner. We were visiting from California. Our family lives in Lafayette and they had never been here. The staff was very friendly and professional. Wine selection was amazing and the food was so delicious. Very unique Italian dishes. Great ambiance, can't wait to go back on our next visit. P.S. my family in Lafayette will be back soon for dinner.

Marcello's is a Gem of a find. The owners are from Sicily (Palermo and Messina) who have brought with them the tradition of true Sicilian openness in welcoming you as part of the family rather than a customer.
The menu capitalizes on Italian/Sicilian dishes expertly prepared fresh in their kitchen and with true authenticity of what Italian and Sicilian cuisine is to taste like.
My sister who is quite hard to please when it comes to dining at supposed Italian restaurants, offered Marcello's the highest of her praise when she exclaimed that the food was just like 'mom' used to make (mom was from Castrofelippo Sicily).
The ambiance is warm, filled with many photos of the owner and from Sicily. The service is superior and attentive compared to most restaurants as your water glass is filled constantly without having to flag down your server and your table is checked often
The desserts are delicious and one specialty desert you should consider ordering is the "Spumoni ". It is limited in offering
Dining here is more than worthwhile.
One of the best Italian restaurants in Lafayette. The good news is that there are some real showstoppers on the menu, like the mussels, the tritone and the bolognese. The bad news is that they sometimes run out of the best items on the menu. Either way, there are other good options.
The past few months have been filled with Birthday Celebrations. Our friend Tara celebrated her birthday a couple of weeks ago. The ladies and I were anticipating this birthday dinner at Marcello's. We arrived a few minutes early, but we were seated fairly quickly. This was my first time at the Marcello's. I am always excited to eat at restaurants that I have never had before. Marcello's has been around for quite some time. But we have never made our way there, but tonight was the night.
I'd say Lafayette's best Italian restaurant. I personally think they sometimes they go a little heavy on the sauces on top of the fish or veal dishes. But that's an easy fix for me - just get the sauce on the side. Great wine selection in addition to really good food. Great place for a nice night out.
Every time I return I know why...it's so good! This is definitely one of if not my favorite Italian restaurants in the area. Great atmosphere and wine! We will be back!
Great food, great service and an even better atmosphere. Cozy little restaurant, perfect for Valentine's Day dinner lastnight. We started with a fresh order of calamari, the batter was plain but the marinara sauce was delicious. I had the veal and my gf had the red pepper crusted tuna, med-well. Both dishes were very good and expertly sizes portions. I didn't leave too full or hungry either.

Literally, our favorite restaurant in Lafayette. The management and staff kick ass the atmosphere is perfect! Love the fact that Gene doesn't jack up his wine and champagne like most others. PERFECT date night place. Call and make a reservation bc they do get busy!
Great Atmosphere, Food Pretty Good. Lafayette doesn't have many good Italian restaurants and Marcello's is almost always busy. We like the atmosphere -- it's a dark, romantic place that feels soothing after a long day -- and the service. The food is pretty good and consistent, but I wish they would change the menu up a little more. Some of the dishes are too oily. The wines by the glass are not that great and hardly ever change -- strange for a restaurant that started out as a wine store. Overall, it's a good spot for a date.

Beautiful evening!. Oh my, I love Marcello's. We booked the godfathers room for my sons rehearsal supper, and it was fabulous! The room is just the right size for a party of 30. We had 20 and we were very comfortable. The service was excellent, we had 2 servers and they were very attentive to my guest. And of course the food was awesome. Should the occasion arise, I am definitely going to plan my next event there. Thanks Julie, (event planner). I am one very happy mother in law. Lol

YUM,YUM, YUM!!!. Bresaola at Marcello's Wine Market Cafe in Lafayette- I really need to eat here more often. I have never, ever had anything here that has been short of divine. Tonight I got spaghetti & meatballs, which is not something I would normally order…ever…anywhere. But I had an envie and, oh my heavens, did Marcello's deliver. Perfectly cooked pasta, a sauce with lots of zip, and the meatballs! Oh, the meatballs! Moist without being mushy and spiced just right. I'm not a meatball aficionado by any stretch, but I know I could eat those every day. Desserts were equally wonderful. Tiramisu was soooo delicious, but I love the caramel pudding with almonds and amaretto whipped cream (it has a much fancier name, but I can never remember it).And shout out to Lindsey, our server, for fantastic wine pairings and exemplary service. Ask for her. Seriously. All in all, A++++ for Marcello's!!!

In-house pretty good, Delivery not. This restaurant offers delivery through a great delivery service in town. I have eaten In house a few times and have always enjoyed the experience, although I do agree with a few others that service is a bit slow. Overall however, the food and atmosphere is wonderful! I decided to place a delivery order due to being so busy with the holidays. I was disappointed. What I received in the delivery order was much different than what I received in-house. I could have gotten the same at a cheap quickie Italian restaurant in town for 20 bucks less. It was as if they looked at it as a delivery order, so it must be for someone of lessor status than the people who come to the restaurant. I ordered from them because of the quality I had in-house, and it's a shame it was such a difference in taste and quality. No matter how I order, the quality should be the same, as the price is the same, plus delivery charges. I would definitely go back to the restaurant itself, but I will not order delivery in the future. UPDATE: I don't think I will go back in house either. I sent several messages through their website regarding the delivery, and was completely, and thoroughly ignored. That is bad customer service 101. Too bad, because if they changed their attitude, they could be 10 times better!

Incredible Experience Everytime. I have only been about 3 times but each time I consistently had amazing service, fantastic food and an absolutely splendid time. The mozzarella impanata is an absolute must to start, followed by caprese salad, and ended with one of their delicious entrees (my favorite so far being the veal parmesan). The ambiance is similar to eating in a dimly lit wine cellar which I feel to be very romantic and poetic. I love this place and go there when I really want to indulge in good wine, good food and good company.
'Chicken Arristitto' is amazing! Juicy well seasoned chicken with rice that is just as good..
Sat at the bar for a quick lunch and I had the Shimp pasta that came with a side salad. It was so good. At first I though it had sliced mushrooms in the pasta but it was roasted garlic, it was so sweet !! I can't wait till I come back to town, I will make sure to stop in again for a good meal !!
Exceptional food, unexpectedly slow service.... The food is exceptional. Was traveling on business and was very suprised by the quality and great flavor of the Italian food. I had the meatball sub for lunch, which was very well done, large juicy meatballs, just enough melted cheese and nice crisp bread (exceptional marinara for dipping). For dinner another day I had the chicken and risotto. Also delishous, crisp skin and perfect risotto.
While the food is great, the service is very slow. Not bad, our waiter was very attentive with our water glasses, just slow. Purhaps on purposed, the idea being to get a few bottles of wine and enjoy. But at some point waiting almost an hour for your food to arrive is a bit ridiculous (for both lunch and dinner).
End result, go for the atmosphere with some friends and make an evening out of some great wine, food and converstaion. Its not for the business lunch crowd looking to get in and get out.
Went here for lunch. My girlfriend and I had great sandwiches. The tomato basil soup is homemade and really tasty. The decor and ambiance is quaint and romantic. I would definitely recommend going here.
The food was amazing. I really enjoyed my sausage and pepper panini with homemade tomato basil soup. The tiramusi was very moist and tasty. The atmosphere was perfect for a date just drinks at the bar or a romantic meal.

Lovely!. The food was excellent! (I had soup and the pork chop.) They had an extensive list of wines by the glass with some impressive bottles that are hard to find at restaurants. The service couldn't have been better. I'll definitely go back!

We started with a couple of cocktails—Rogers loves Jim Beam Black, and you know I love martinis—I had them adjust the simple syrup down, and my lemon basil martini was so excellent I had a couple. The bartender nailed it!
The fried mozzarella is our absolute favorite in town—the sauce on the bottom of that plate I could drink. Recommended starter!
Rogers got a small caesar salad, and I chose their roasted beet salad. The roasted beet salad is over-the-top delicious—recommended! Loved their complimentary bread with oil and balsamic dipping sauce.
I had every intention of getting their filet tonight, but their linguine tritone caught my eye—lobster, crab, and shrimp in a cream sauce over linguine—to die for. I regret getting the full portion because the half portion would have been plenty. At least I have a midnight snack. Ha. Rogers was a good boy and ordered a small portion of their fettuccine Alfredo—that’s why he’s skinnier than me. Our entrees were outstanding.
We were stuffed and did not feel like dessert. However, Zach had other plans and brought us a small portion of their Anna Tutta Panna—absolutely fantastic!
Marcello’s is a great experience. The dining room is beautiful and tastefully furnished. We love the tablet wine list that allows you to filter thru their extensive wines to find the perfect wine for dinner. When you dine there, not only do you have your server, but a whole staff making sure things are taken away, and water glasses are filled—touches like that set Marcello’s apart. It’s a great value for all it offers. Marcello’s makes for an excellent romantic/date night dinner.

This is a nice Italian place. It’s upscale but not too fancy. It has a nice ambiance and they sell many bottles of wine. I got the truffle Mac and cheese that was small but really rich with thick chunks of pancetta. It was very tasty. Then I had the eggplant Molli which was so good! The pasta was a little on the dry side, but the eggplant was perfect. We had the chocolate mousse for dessert. It was really rich and delicious. You can easily share it.
An amazing choice if you're looking for something more upscale and romantic! A bit pricey, but well worth a splurge for an occasional date night away from the kiddos. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and was incredibly friendly. We will be back!

This place is amazing! I've been coming here for a while now and EVERY TIME the food is incredible! I can't remember our waiters name I believe it started with a T, but he was incredibly professional while also being witty and kind. The whole staff there is always on their a-game! I would definitely recommend this to anybody that has not tried it.
Enormous, great meatballs. Spaghetti was average. Great tiramisu. Highly recommend the veal piccata!

GREAT PASTA DISHES! I LOVE this spot.
The Italian sausage tastes great; however, it should be boiled before sautéed. It is too hard to chew.
Normally we would get the Linguini Tritone or the Truffle mac and cheese as a part of our meal, but this time, we changed it up! We still got the delicious mussel as usual, but this time we had:
Pesce Limone - Lemon butter caper mushroom sauce, roasted asparagus
Pollo Arrostito - Half deboned Opelousas chicken, shallot pan sauce, risotto di giorno, flash fried Brussel sprouts
And let me tell you, I never order chicken from restaurants, but this thing was delicious!!! And the Pesce Limone was so divine!!!
Seems like anything you order here is going to be delicious, so do yourself a favor, make a reservation (yes, you probably will need to if you want to eat here).

The owner had great attention to detail. From the clear bottle for serving water to the small glass bottles of soda....the staff did an excellent job waiting on us. The food was tremendous....roasted Brussel sprouts and garlicky polenta.....and chicken....whole b dining experience was excellent and exceeded our expectations. They adjusted our table from 6 to 8. Decorum....exceptional.
