I remembered eating here as a child; ordering food that would be served in paper cars. I had the whole collection of cars! It’s been many years since I have eaten here, and for my family, the first time.
The atmosphere was very welcoming and our server was the best! He had recommendations that didn’t disappoint. The beignets were EXCELLENT and I highly recommend the mimosas as well. We all enjoyed our breakfast, and would return in the future. The only negative thing I would say, is that some of the breakfast items needed seasoning, but there was salt and pepper provided on table.
I ordered the Catfish Louisiana and requested the catfish to be grilled. The food was tasty! I had no complaints. I enjoy the atmosphere. It was definitely packed during lunch hours, but I can definitely understand why. I need to visit again for breakfast.
Here's a place to grab a great breakfast! We had a belt and a biscuit with sausage gravy. Both were super tasty! Our waitress was friendly and our coffee stayed topped off.
Great family spot located near Lafayette General Hospital. The staff is friendly and attentive. Lots of comfort food. Many options seafood, burgers, salads, and sandwiches. The onion rings are delicious !!!!! The chicken sandwich on rye bread was also very good. There was ample parking. We will be going back !
Awesome "diner" dining experience in the middle of Lafayette.
The onion rings are some of the best I've ever had - thick batter and fried perfectly. The curly fries came out hot and seasoned just right. And the mushroom Swiss burger is in my top 4-5 all-time. And I order mushroom Swiss a lot.
The decor is a bit funky, but the whole place gives off a great vibe. I mean, if you walk into a spot and there is a statue of a pelican dressed as Elvis - it's gotta be great, right??!!
The breakfasts and atmosphere were great! We went on 2 different days for breakfast and Tiffany & Virginia were wonderful waitresses. I'm a people watcher and their staff was happy and engaged the customers and it looked like they enjoyed working there. I don't see that very often. Highly recommended!
I have not been there in about 4 years, but I wasn't disappointed. The service was excellent. The food is still good. I forgot to take pics, but I had fried Catfish, Mac and cheese, green beans, a side salad and the soup of the day. And a glass of cabinet, all for $25.24. The soup of the day was artichoke and shrimp, and it was really good. I fact, I got a cup to go. I can't vouch for everything they service. But if you are stretching a budget, you might want to give it a try.
Great place to get a bite to eat. Service was amazing. Would definitely recommend
Coty was the best waiter ever! He gave to absolute best service to my family, and I appreciate that. This place is better than any breakfast place I’ve been to! There was more than enough food for the price. I recommend this place 100x over :) Ask for Coty when you visit <3
Atmosphere: Family-friendly
Dress code: Casual
Location: Downtown Lafayette, LA
We were seated immediately when we arrived. We figured it would be good by all the cars in the parking lot. Service was fast and Tiffany was an absolute doll. She recommended a bakery to get authentic King Cake.
Our Favs:
Beignets (Amazing)
Grilled Shrimp Omelet
Diner browns ( Thick cut potatoes fried)
All of the omelets were good.
They serve adult breakfast cocktails all day. Mimosas, Bloody Mary's etc.
I would definitely come back when in Lafayette.
