I recently had the pleasure of enjoying a chicken sandwich at rachaels, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. The combination of fresh ingredients and a delectable sauce made for an exceptional sandwich.
Not only was the food amazing, but the service was top-notch as well. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, I felt well taken care of.
If you're a fan of chicken sandwiches and great service, I highly recommend a visit. It's a must-try for anyone looking to satisfy their taste buds while enjoying a welcoming atmosphere. 😄
In the words of my sister,, “I am a connoisseur of gumbo and this is the best chicken and sausage gumbo ever”! I said it’s even better than mine and my mom thoroughly enjoyed her shrimp and okra gumbo. Hubby said his grilled scallops salad was a one of a kind salad and our waiter, Brandon was a true professional and a great person to have greeting the guests! We will definitely be back.
Very good and a locals favorite Cajun Restaurants. The seafood gumbo is delicious, along with the oyster and shrimp sandwiches on jalapeño buns. The crab fingers are good also. The shrimp sandwich tonight was outstanding.
Great little place to eat. Never heard of it before but stumbled on it here and saw lots of good reviews. I had two large fried pork chops with a salad and fries. First off I’m not a fan of super thick cut fries. For me they can never be fried enough. I like crispy fries so when I ask to fry them extra crispy I expect them a lot more than what I got. Weren’t bad just kinda limp if you ask me. The salad was nice and I enjoyed my pork chops. I would definitely come back and try more. Great menu and my friends had some good looking seafood plates.

This eatery is still consistent! I absolutely love their shrimp and okra gumbo!!! Rachel's son is AWESOME!!! This is one of my favorite AUTHENTIC CAJUN/CREOLE SPOTS TO DINE AT!
6/21/21 I came for the first time around 5:20 and had the best service and best food!
Ross was our waiter according to the name ticket at our table; however, the other waiters and waitresses would pick-up the slack for their counterparts to make sure the customers were good at all times (with drinks/ordering of more food, etc...): this was neat and a Very Good move by management! 5/5 Stars for that great hospitality strategy among the staff members.
The food was the best, ever, too. Homemade quality!
The restaurant has a real chill ambiance about it, too.
I ordered:
1. A cup of shrimp and okra gumbo: came out warm, and it was certainly VERY good!
2. The Seafood jambalaya tates exactly how I do mine!!!! Now I know where to get the foods I enjoy when I don't feel like cooking! Lol
3. The potato salad was a basic salad like what maw-maw would make: straight up just the potatoes and eggs with mayo/mustard mix. Not too much mustard, though. More simple and bland--just like maw-maw would make it because she didn't want it over-powering the other great food she made.
4. The side order of okra is a 10/10!!!!! Who is cooking this food??????!!!!! They are the best!!!!!
5. Grilled bell peppers with crab stuffing and some tartar sauce made it just right!
6. Ordered 3 desserts: German Chocolate cake, carrot cake, and pineapple upside down cake: they came out bundt style. The pineapple upside down bunt dessert was the best out of the 2.
I can't believe this place has been in Lafayette this long and I never knew about it. This place doesn't even show up on Google for places opened to dine at.
Anyway, IF YOU WANT AUTHENTIC FOOD THAT MAW-MAW WOULD COOK IN HER KITCHEN, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!!!
Super clean and amazing service and food ! Great Fit menu
Food was great here. Management and staff were nice and they accommodated our group (about 7) pretty easily, even though they had a rather large group dining already.
Nothing super fancy, but clean space. Would recommend.
They have the best seafood platter and best gumbo in the world!
Really good food at a reasonable price. Two of us had the Rachael's Special seafood gumbo and it was great. I was in town visiting family and my brother brought me to the restaurant. Great choice.
Ate "lunch" there today. Lunch in quotes because we're still full 5 hours later. My wife had crabmeat au gratin, I had crawfish bisque. Both wonderful, brought back memories of my childhood. I live far away now, and although I can cook, bisque defeats me. A wonderful meal.
Cozy little diner off the main road. The food was good. We both got the seafood platter. Lots of food for good price! However, the service was minimal. She was suppose to being back a tea and never did. Instead was at the counter messing around with some others there. Finally brought the check and we Sat for about 7 min waiting for her to come get the card to cash out (again at the counter) and finally we just left cash.
The coconut sweet potatoes were really good though!
A small, cozy diner off the main road. The food was delicious. We each ordered the seafood platter. Lots great food at a reasonable price!
First time eating here. Gumbo was very good!! Guy that waited on us was extremely nice. Will definitely be back.
*excellent* food. Great chicken-fried steak, meatball stew, corn and crab soup, and gumbo of all kinds.
Food service. Clean, casual, relaxed atmosphere.
Had the meatball stew with smothered okra. The food was seasoned well with lunch sized portions. Great service in a good atmosphere.
We had takeout for a large group, and it was so good! Everyone was happy, which isn't always the case. Plus they have a great impact in our community with their support of Miles Perret Cancer Services
Best Beets & sweet potatoes!!!!! Chicken fried steak is just awesome 👍 green beans excellent 👌
Good folks making good food. I was accidentally a bit disgruntled here for a brief moment--not complaining but a bit disgruntled about a timing of preparation question. Somebody from the back came out to chat with me and fixed my mood without ever making me feel bad about my disgruntledness. I don't know how to describe this, but that's a real skill. My CFS was good, too, and I'm from Texas and don't say that easily about a Louisiana CFS. I'll go back and take friends if I'm in that part of town for lunch. Really crowded, but there's a reason and it's not related to being "trendy."
