This establishment is a gem hiding in plain sight. We were greeted with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Once seated the menu arrived and the choices were impossible. The breakfast menu is a definite reason for our second return.
The appetizer was the zydeco shrimp and it was spot on! I went for items that would easily tell me about the quality.
I chose the Eggs and Crabs Benedict, another item that would be a telltale about quality and pricing. It was fresh and flavorful. Hollandaise sauce was light and perfect.
A basic shrimp poboy was the other selected item. That was a wonderful surprise in quality, presentation and size. Another test for quality, if you can’t make a great poboy, in general it’s speaks about the rest of the menu. We were overwhelmingly surprised at the fantastic menu, awesome service and pricing. Note: breakfast is served from open to close 6:30 am - 2:00 pm.

These folks do breakfast right! The food is excellent and they don’t kill you on price or quantity of foods. Their breakfast potatoes are the best I’ve ever had.
The best best biscuits and gravey. The wait staff makes you feel at home too.
The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was incredible. We will definitely be back and we regret not going sooner!!

I had the soup of the day. Chicken Vegetable soup it was savory and delicious. I also had the garden crabcake salad. I'm a happier person after eating that. :-)
Food was ok but service was terrible. We waited one hour for our food.

I am in LOVE with the food here and the small yet cozy atmosphere. Plus the people who work here and at Bailey's are always so nice to me every time I come by. Give this place a try!! Love love this place

First time here. Glad we came (lunch group). Had the special, Hamburger Steak. Comes with corn bisque, green beans, and new potatoes. My only critique, tad salty. Server was great and food came out quick. Will be back.
Excellent burgers, not much more to say. Will be going back to try more off the breakfast side of the meau.
We were in Lafayette visiting family. We generally eat breakfast out. We searched Google and found this quaint little place. Everything was great food service atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Ema’s breakfast menu is excellent! Kind-hearted servers and a cozy dinning area make for a delicious breakfast. The beignets are melt in your mouth good. I highly recommend stopping in for them.
The restaurant is small but the flavor is big. Menu consists of a mix of pasta and seafood dishes with salads and burger options as well. Their paper menus has a lunch side and a breakfast side so plenty of options. Never had a bad meal there. A good place to bring friends for a lunch somewhere less crowded and busy.
Beignets are the best around in my opinion. Everything we had was fantastic. Especially recommend the Crab cake Bennie and the Cajun Bennie!

On Monday, I ate here for the first time. I had the Cajun Benedict, and it blew my mind! Best breakfast I've ever eaten. I've lived in and around Lafayette all my life, and never put all these things together for one meal. I was missing out. My life has been changed-I never knew breakfast could be this awesome! I'll never not take the opportunity to come here when looking for breakfast in Lafayette again. I ate the same for lunch today and still not disappointed. It's definitely worth your time and money!
For quality, simple, good, & wholesome food at a reasonable price Ema rocks! Tasty and timely with a welcoming atmosphere that is a hiding gem. You won't go wrong in giving it a try.👌

I've only ever had breakfast here, service is always good, food is ready fast. They have always accommodated our large company group and served us all very quickly.
We always enjoy Ema's Café: great food, wonderful people, more than decent atmosphere. We generally go there for breakfast, but I have never gotten food at that place where it wasn't excellent. Also, even when the place is rocking and rolling the way it was this morning, one doesn't feel too crowded. We go there just about every week.
Jeremy Whitman has been managing the place for 20 years now, and he is very careful and observant of everything, while being both good to his people and very friendly to his customers. Sarah and Austin are definitely our favorites, though I have never been disappointed with anyone on the wait staff.
The only thing that I will say is that, if you go there for lunch, and you're in a serious hurry, you may want to order ahead. The cooks are good at getting it out there, and the servers are good at paying attention, but there's only so much you can do when the place is full.
This is a quaint little full service restaurant that had an impressive menu of combination food items and the service was excellent! We did order our beignets to go, as well as a beignet combo breakfast and it was excellent!
Great place to enjoy a good breakfast or brunch. Reasonably priced. The ham and cheese croissant is delicious.

this hidden gem of lafayette is one of my new favorite places to eat. i had never heard of before recently and no one i know knows about it. i feel like it's sort of tucked away and maybe they should promote it better, because there are plenty of people would i know would love this place if they knew about it. the food is incredible and it's all made there. i've been there twice. the first time, there was only one other couple there. the second time, there were about 6 other couples. both times, our food came out in under ten minutes. it was so fast. their biscuits are incredible. plus, they make beignets that taste just like Cafe Du Monde. i can't think of anywhere else in lafayette that does that. super friendly staff, cozy, private atmosphere (also has outdoor seating), fast and fresh food, and it's all very inexpensive. do yourself a favor and go there today!
