My recent visit to La Fonda was a flavorful journey into authentic Mexican and Southern cuisine. The restaurant's welcoming ambiance set the stage for a satisfying meal. I ordered the fried chicken and enchiladas, and both dishes were a treat. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy, showcasing South
Very nice place. Dinner was good as well as great service.
A Lafayette institution started by Lee Bob Cox and run now by his daughter, Stephanie. I think it’s Mexican food is great but I go to order fried chicken, which is off the menu item. It’s some of the best in town. This restaurant is a family favorite. Shish Kabob is also very good.
Packed house on a Friday afternoon was nice to see and I highly recommend the frozen Margherita with a dot of sangria!
I adore La Fonda!! My grandparents, parents, extended family and I have been going here regularly since it opened in the 1950’s. The staff greets you in the way you would hope; as if an old friend has come by for dinner. The atmosphere is an interesting blend of bustling yet relaxed classiness and c
Worth visiting. There were a few items on the menu that seemed odd to order (rabbit for example) but each were great and made the experience even better. I highly recommend stopping there if you are in the area.
The enchiladas are awesome!
The ambiance is quiet and casual.
Great food, great experience, very much worth the wait.
My go to is the tamale dinner: use to be 3 tamales but is now 2. You can add another tamale for $3 or $4 dollars.
First time trying and a new favorite. A full parking lot is a good sign of good food and that's definitely the case here. Seated immediately. Friendly staff. More upscale than the average Mexican restaurant but not too fancy. The waiters are dressed up and the atmosphere is very romantic, yet comfor
Let's be honest here - it's the margaritas, fried rabbit, nachos, fried chicken, and the steak kabobs. A couple of the chicken dishes are very scrumptious as well. Come for a drink, stay to be seen. #FondaFriday
Great service. Excellent food. Kinda pricey...
A favorite since the 70s. The entire staff is always welcoming ensuring that you feel right at home. The food is consistently delicious and of course the margaritas never disappoint!
We had a lovely time meeting with old friends over good food and a warm and relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend LaFonda's to everyone I know. The bonus? Best margaritas in town.
